After I realized that I was never going to get a new table for my entry way that I (A) Loved and (B) Could afford, I decided that it was time to take the ugly old table bought from DI 13 years ago and make it into my dream table. Unfortunately I decided this in January which is a very cold month to start. With the help of a space heater, sand paper, spray paint and a floor lamp I refinished that table and I have to say I think it looks pretty darn good. My only regret is that I didn't take a picture of that ugly old table so that you my adoring fans could see the change.

If anyone has any ideas on how to spruce up that mirror a little I am open to suggestions!!

Closing off the Shopping Center

Due to our two boys using the food storage as a shopping center and the general impossibility of keeping the basement clean and organized when the boys spend much of each day "delivering" food from the storage room to the rest of the basement, I was informed that I would be building a wall in the basement to seal off the storage room. What follows are some pictures of that effort progressing.

I think the straw that broke that camel's (MOMel's???) back was the peaches jar that broke en route to a delivery, but was delivered anyway. (Peach juice EVERYWHERE... this was not even close to the first spill...)

Pantry

I wish we had a picture of our old Pantry just so everyone could see how useless it was but we don't so take my word for it. It was useless. So my wonderful husband built me a new one and it is wonderful. (Happy anniversary to ME!!!!!)

New build guided tour

We had originally intended to have this blog be a record of the building of our house. This was so we could share our excitement with family and friends far away. When the house was built we abandoned it. However since we have no family blog to share the excitement of our everyday life and our new house is where most of these exciting things happen. This will be the blog of our new builds in Cicero. All the new "build's" that happen to our family or our house. Enjoy your guided tour!
