To bad!
Dave and I have a real desire to find a great Italian restaurant, being that Dave is Italian, we have a good place to start with his dads families recipes. So we got a recommendation on Visconti House in Holladay Utah...ugh! Boy were we disappointed! Right from the get go! The service was terrible, we waited 15 minutes for someone to bring us water and then didn't even take our order. Then we waited about another 10 minutes for someone to come take our order! We ordered a seafood arravita (the menu said it had shrimp, clams, mussels and scallops) well we got mussels and chopped clams in a sea of what seemed like canned tomato sauce! The flavor was not bad but not what I think a good red sauce should be! Then we ordered the entree and it was well to say the least blah, both Dave and I had pasta (which were suppose to be different) had the same sauce on it! Dave got spaghetti and meat balls and the meat balls were so bad and mushy! I got 4 cheese ravioli and I am sure the ravioli's were bertolis from target! I am not trying to bash this place because they did have one upside! The family spoke Italian and people who came in spoke it as well, and the table next to us was these two old men that just bickered the whole time! It was awesome! So needless to say city weekly and the recommendation we got were no good!

Meditrina's

Ok Salt Lakers! Meditrina's is the best little Tapas Bar! The environment was awesome and the service was great! They have happy hour so things can be less expensive!
The Sangria was mmmm good and they have a wine sampler that was fun too.
I would highly recommend this place.

Homemade Pho
This is one of our most favorite dishes. It is healthy, easy, and it fills you up! Keep in mind this a far cry from what they make in the restaurants but the beef bone broth they use takes all day and quite a bit of attention. I will make it one day but for now this is our American way of making it.
Things needed
2-3 bundles of rice noodles per person
1 can pho broth from your local Asian market
1 can beef broth
6 cups water
1 box of PHO bouillon cubes from your local Asian market
Thia Basil
4 thinly sliced rounds from a white onion
TONS of mung bean sprouts
1 serano pepper
In a large bowl put 4 cups or so of cold water and add the rice noodles. Let them soak for 1-5 minutes.
Combine liquids and bouillon cubes in a large pot and bring to almost a boil. Add onions and let simmer until onions are almost translucent. Add noodles from the cold water and let cook for 1-2 minutes
Serve in large bowls with sprouts, pepper and basil.
We use the hot Chinese red sauce (it has a rooster on it) and soy sauce to flavor it up a bit.

I have not forgot
Hello All,
I have not forgot about my food blog! Between looking for house and deciding we are going to build and putting that in motion and work and life, we have not made anything exciting for a bit! But this week I have 4 days off so I will get with it and get some oldies but goodies up here!
Keeping trying new things

Flemings Steakhouse
Last night Dave and I went to Flemings for dinner. We both had a prime rib-eye with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. To be completely honest we have had better. (Spencer in Utah or Mesa grill in Las Vegas). The flavor was great, the presentation was great and the environment was great but the steak was kinda of tough. One thing that was wonderful with the Chantilly cream with creme brulee and fresh berries. All in all I am glad that we received a gift card and did not pay full price. Thank you Amex.
COST: $$$
Chance of going back: if some one paid or i was out of state and there was not a Spencer's or Mesa around.
