GrOuNdEd 4 LiFe!

This is what happens to your almost 2 year old LDC tv after an almost 5 year old throws a toy at it...
I couldn't really say much except "oh, you are in so much trouble. Your dad is going to be so mad at you. Oh Logan, you are in so much trouble." over and over again. I told him he had to call his dad to tell him what happened and I felt myself shaking out of fear on his behalf. As derrick answered the phone I was talking to Logan so Derrick heard me say "Logan I'm shaking, you're going to have to talk to your dad." So Logan proceeded to tell him that Allie told him to throw the toy so he did and it hit the tv and cracked it (as he was hiding on his bed, under is covers) so it sounded a little muffled. So I got on the phone and had to explain to him what had happened. Surprisingly he said, "well, it's just a tv" not at all what I would have guessed would have been the 1st words out of his mouth. Then he explained that he initionally thought something was wrong with me because of what he first heard when he answered the phone. So he was relieved to find out it was "only" the tv. So, I may have accidently saved Logan's little behind today from his dad, but he cannot be spared from the lonely days that will follow. Not being able to watch tv, watch movies, play the wii, play the computer or play with friends is going to be torture on us all!

"Get out of jail free"

Logan : Mom can we do fireworks today?
Mom: No buddy, not today.
Logan: Why?
Mom: Because we would get in trouble.
Justin: Mom and Dad would get arrested.
Mom: (laugh)
Logan: But mom, don't you have a "Get out of jail free" card????
Mom: (laugh louder) I don't have a "Get out of jail free" card.
Logan: yes you do, I remember I saw you get one and you had one once.
Mom: (laugh)Logan, we only have "Get out of Jail free" cards when we play our games, but they don't REALLY work. LOL!
Logan: Ohhhhh!

America, America, God Shed His Grace on Thee!

We decided to celebrate our 4th of July holiday by attending the Stadium of Fire this year. We went with My parents and Kristen and Klay. It was fun being together, but I was feeling really bad that we weren't going to be with the kids to celebrate, but thanks to Aunt Mel, they didn't even notice we were gone. After a little BBQ at her house She took them to Memorial Hill in Midway to enjoy the fireworks(I still need to get the pictures). They had alot of fun being with there cousins.
This is the 3rd time I've been to this event and have enjoyed it each time. I love the patriotic atmosphere. I love the reminder of how blessed I really am to live in the beautiful country. I KNOW that God has truly shed his grace on this land. I alway get so emotional when the Star Spangeled Banner is being sung but it always hits the hardest when it says "and the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there." I love this country and the freedoms we are blessed with because of all those who have been and still are fighting for it! THANK YOU!

What's in a name?

Joking around today I called Derrick by his full name, DERRICK DELAUN HENDRICKSON! Justin started laughing and said "thats dads full name"? So then we started talking about names and why we all have the names we have. So Derrick asked the boys "well what do you think Grandpa H.'s name really is"?
Logan : Um, Grandpa H!
Derrick: No, it's Delaun Hendrickson. That's why my middle name is Delaun, after my dad and Justin is Justin Derrick Hendrickson like me.
Logan (with his little wheels spin in his head trying to grasp it all): Ohhhhh, so Grandpa H is really, Mow-de-lawn Hendrickson.

We couldn't stop laughing after that one. I'm pretty sure it's not going to be Grandpa H. anymore, it just might be Grandpa Mow-de-lawn. :)

Logan we sure love you and the funny things you say!

Cattle Drive 2010

This might sound crazy but the Annual Hendrickson cattle drive is one of the things we all look forward to each year. And this year was no different. Except for the fact that we were able to head up a day earlier and be there in time for branding of the calves. I can honestly say I've never experiences anything quite like that before. I actually just watched, but it was very entertaining watching the guys rope and wrangle the calves to get them into position to receive there brand. It sure looked like a lot of HARD work.First you have to have the support! The you have to have someone dumb enough to wrestle with the calf.

Good job Derrick, you looked great out there! :) Then comes the torture along with the nasty smell!

The following day we moved the cows. I started off on a four wheeler as usually, but this year I ended up on a horse and road it for about 2 of the 4 hours it took to move them. Usually I'm content on my trustworthy ATV, but this year, I guess I need something different. I can honestly say I had never experiences being saddle sore until after that. Ouch! I would have been okay if it was a little bit warmer, but all in all it was a lot of fun. I don't think the kids enjoyed it much this year. Because it was so cold they all wanted to just ride in the car that follows along the way and watch movies. Every now and then they would get out, but they didn't stay out all. We love that Uncle Scott and Aunt Cathy invite us up to help every year. It is definitely creating memories we will ALWAYS remember.

Logan's Preschool

My good friend Lora decided to do a little preschool for her twin daughters and invited Logan to join them. We are so glad she did. He loved it. It was definitely something he looked forward to each week.

He made new friends along the way and played really well with all of them. However, you could tell he especially liked to play with Kate. The 2 of them were inseparable. It was so funny watching them interact with each other. It was like they had a little secret between the them. It is also kind of funny how much the 2 of them look alike. It's Kate and Sara that are the twins, but Logan and Kate sure could pass as brother and sister twins.

They all loved music timeand the field trip to the Fire Station. And trying to get 6 3 year olds to all look at the camera to at the same time for a picture was pretty much impossible.

Thanks Teacher Lora!

She's got sophisticated written all over her!
