Zoe's Glasses

Zoe got glasses yesterday. We didn't realize she needed them until her eyes started crossing. Turns out she is very farsighted. It was so cute seeing her wear them the first time. She cupped my face with her hands and gave me a big smile and a kiss. It was awesome! Thank You, Lord!

Today she said, "Mom, I can see the fridge!"

This is the summer that I shall title "Summer of the Overwhelmed Mother".  I just have to say that four children is just, WOW.  We have been home more than most summers because, really, camping or hiking or any such thing simply sounds like death.  Hats off to you parents that do the camping, hiking, boating, travelling juggle with 4+ young kids.  Ummmmm, no thanks.  At least not summer 2013.  We've had a lot of popsicles, lunch at the park, sprinklers and some pool time.  I just try to breathe a little every day.

My prayer this summer has been,

God, give me joy in these times with my little ones...

....when they are sitting so cute in the flowers with pretty dresses....and when they are, well, not so much.

I pray that you are having a restful grace filled summer.

Our family has been memorizing scripture together this summer and it seems that our theme verse has been Romans 5:8 :

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Yep, perspective always says that it really is a pretty sweet life! All because of Jesus and what He has done for us.

She's 3!

I love birthdays! Zoe turned three and we threw quite the par-tay. It was just our family and Taylor the babysitter. It was great. She woke up in the morning and picked out her dress and flower for her hair. It was 8:30 a.m. and she was ready for her party....that was at 6:00 p.m. One.long.day!! Haha!

We had a 'Make your own pizza' night. We chose pizza cause Zoe will sort of eat pizza. Didn't exactly have a dinner favorite for this picky dinner eater, but she loved making it!

Zoe said she wanted a brown cake. I hinted at a bear cake because I've wanted to make one and I thought she would love it. Well she did and it was lots of fun. Don't look closely, I had no idea what I was doing. Thank you Pinterest for the inspiration!

Every time we asked her what she wanted for her birthday, she said a violin. I ordered her a toy one on Amazon. I wanted one that looked real. She was very excited. Every time she plays it, she sort of closes her eyes and sways back and forth. Hilarious!

She truly is the "life" of the party and we are so thankful for her liveliness, spunk and wit. We love this kid and loved celebrating three great years!

The 4th Born is Never Bored

Motherhood at the Foot of the Cross

A great article:

~ The Galottis ~: MOTHERHOOD AT THE FOOT OF THE CROSS: This is a reflection I wrote and shared on here last year. In a sentence, I'm a mother in need of the forgiveness and grace found only ...

Rough Day

Brooke has had it rough the last 24 hours. She got shots last night and has a cold. She's still so sweet.

Catching up

Well, it finally happened.  I let the blog go.  I have been a faithful blogger for about 5 years but the busy-ness of our life took over!  I've missed the chronicle of our life, so I thought I would catch up a little.  Now that I have an iPhone, I snap pictures pretty much continually so I have a lot to choose from.  I found the blogger app on my phone and can easily upload pictures to the blog.  I am going to have to start doing it so that I can keep it up!  Alot has happened since October of last year.  I selected a few of my favorite photos to show what we've been up to.  So here goes. . .

Dressing up for the fall festival was alot of fun.  I had two princesses and Magneto.

Of course, the biggest event that happened was our 4th child being born on November 20th.  Her name is Brooke Elizabeth and she is perfect in every way.  We all adore her.  She is an excellent 4th baby! She's a great sleeper and very smiley.  Her big brother is enamored with her.  He is a baby lover!

Brooke looks alot like Logan did at her age.  She also has his temperment so far.  Super easy going.  And that is a good thing for the fourth child!

Christmas 2012

Macy celebrated her 6th birthday in January.  I can't believe she's 6!  She lives for her birthday.  We were in Montana with my family.  She got lots of attention and had a great day.  She finally got her American Girl doll that she's been dreaming about for some time.  It was a fun day!

And that is all for now.  The kids are doing great in school.  Macy is thriving at the charter school.  She loves to learn and is reading and writing very well.  She has lots of friends at school and loves PE and music.  Logan is also doing great with homeschooling.  He is learning lots and making friends at swim lessons during the week.  We've done quite a few activities with fellow homeschoolers this year and he enjoys that.  We are still trying to figure out next year, whether they will both go to school or homeschool.  Each kid is asking to do what the other one is doing right now.  Ha!  We shall see.

Zoe is doing great.  She is a handful but lots of fun.  She is quite the personality.  She doesn't ever stop talking!  She really is the "life" of the party!

....and hopefully I will be back soon.
