Girls Trip to Hilton Head July 2016

 Traci, Me, Hannah, and Linda
We had to evacuate the waters because there were sharks. This was Hannah's face after we saw them! HAHAHA!

The cozy bunkbeads in our cozy little condo!

We spent the majority of the day at the Beach. Then we would go to dinner, and then come back to the beach until it was dark! The beach is so calming and never gets old!

Tennessee

We made a weekend trip to Knoxville in July. Janelle flew in from her mission in Nicaragua on Thursday evening and we pulled into town just in time!

Todd could barely contain his excitement. He sat for a good while trying to detangle the balloons to keep himself busy, just to hand them over to Asher and have them tangled again in 2 seconds flat! HA!

The next day I believe was Rachel and Eric's wedding reception. (Rachel and Janelle are twins. Also Rach got married in December, but they waited for Janelle to come home to do one big shabang in the summer)!

Saturday we went up to Kentucky Splash with the Graves all day. When we got back into Knoxville, the friends we were staying with invited us out on their boat, so we threw our swimsuits in the dryer really quick and put them back on to enjoy the lake! We were constantly going this weekend trying to see and do as much as we could while we were in town. We love Knoxville and the people that live there, and still miss it like crazy!

Sunday was Janelle's homecoming talk. We stayed to hear her speak in Sacrament and then got on the road to head for home. It's always so fun to go visit Knoxville. The Graves are like family to us. Plus we got to visit with some other really great friends there too! Even though we had a jam packed weekend we always leave with our love and friendship cup full!

David's Birthday June 30th

The big 33!

Our dear friends the Mecham's were in town for David's birthday this year. We hired a sitter for all 7 kids and met with friends at a restaurant on his actual birthday. Then a couple days later we invited those same friends and their family's to the beach! I think he had a great birthday. Plus I surprised him with a fun little drone!!

That green and black thing front and center is a credit card knife. He has told me on multiple occasions that it is the coolest and perfect. Win for me in the present department!!

All the kids at the beach!

Cruise to the Bahamas! (June)

for our 11th Anniversary this year we booked a cruise to the Bahamas! We left out of Jacksonville Florida, which is only a 4 hour drive from us, so it was perfect! Plus my mom was still in town, so she was able to stay with the kiddos!!

This was our first cruise, so everything was new and exciting for us. We stayed on the 5th floor, but there were like 14 levels on the ship.
Of course it was fun to see what shape our towels would be in when we got back to our room!
Our first port was Freeport, Bahamas. Let me just say the Bahamas are way dirtier then I expected. We didn't book any excursions because we sort of just wanted to wander around and find a beach. Well at Freeport their isn't a beach close, you have to get a taxi to the other side of the island. We decided to go to the public beach and taxi over there. It was ok, but crowded and slightly dirty. We later found out for only a couple dollars more then what we paid to get to this beach we could have gone to the private resort and had a much better experience. Oh well, it was still a beach, and we were together, and weren't chasing kids, so it was still a win for us. But if we ever go back now we know!

This was formal night, and the lighting was terrible in our room, so we never got a great picture. oh well!

Our second port was Nassau, Bahamas. There was a free beach just a short walk from the Port. But holy moly getting here was an adventure. Well nothing super exciting, but the moment you step off the ship  you are bombarded with people trying to sell you anything and everything under the moon. You have to get through security, and literally just put your head down and walk fast. Once we finally got away from all the crazies and could think straight we walked through their straw market, which again was people begging you to buy their stuff, and then we made our way to this beach. There was lots of construction going on, so we had to walk the long way around. This beach was nicer then the one at Freeport, and we rented chairs this time, that also came with a floating mattress that I used all day to float on the Ocean waves. The guy running the little rental joint laughed at me for loving that mattress so much!!!

This little section was a 21 and over section, and was our favorite night time hang out. it had padded chairs and a couple of hot tubs. It was way too hot to ever get in the hot tubs, but about 10:00 every night we would wander our way out here and just relax and look at the stars. There was hardly anyone ever out their at night, so it felt like our own little quiet area!

The water was so so blue, it honestly looked like someone dumped tons and tons of blue koolaid in it it was just that blue!

Our room had a windown seat with these port holes!

Our last evening on the ship we caught this Bahamas Sunset. It was seriously gorgeous! Plus it was fun watching all the flying fish down below!

We hit up a music show/concert, and comedy show every night. This last concert was love songs from the 70's I think. Anyway, before the show started our cruise director asked a few couples to be introduced before the show and sort of tell their story. He rewarded us with free Champagne and dessert. We told him we didn't drink so they brought us out sprite! But, this was the 3rd free bottle of wine we received on the cruise, too funny!

We decided Cruising is the most relaxing vacation ever. Seriously it was so so nice not having to think of anything. we had food whenever we wanted, we never had to drive anywhere, or decide where we were going to go. Everything was right their on the ship! They had lots going on and so you could be always doing something, or just relaxing. It was such a great time. We want to go again sooner rather then later! We also really want to cruise with friends!
