Christmas Day 2015

This Christmas didn't go as planned. Mostly I don't even remember why. The kids weren't being very spirited in the season and I believe the straw that caved the camels back was the fact that they refused to join us for dinner on Christmas Eve. We were going to meet my parents at Macayo's which we had, on occasion, done in the past. There was no reason for them not to join us, nothing going on in their teenage lives. I guess I had been feeling like they just didn't care and therefore I wasn't going to either. We did not open the pajamas that had been waiting patiently under the tree, there were no cookies set out for Santa, and no gifts were left to be opened on Christmas morning. We proceeded with our day going to my parents house to open gifts and having lunch at China a Go Go. As the day wore on all hearts were softened and we opted for a re-do. Pajamas were opened and put on and Santa made a special trip back to our house. Christmas was saved and hopefully lessons were learned.  In the end we all had a Merry Christmas and that's really all that matters.

December 2015

*since I'm a year behind on posting, these posts will be sweet and simple- gotta catch up!

Polar Express!

Went to the little Polar Express in Alamo. It was a fun night to get us into the Christmas spirit. Lauren brought along her friend Brooke and we met some of the family there as well.

Lauren got her driver's license December 7, 2015!!

I hope I taught her well now that she will be driving the streets without me there to press the imaginary brake pedal on the passengers side!

Jason and I went to see the new Star Wars- The Force Awakens opening weekend and got this pic!

We had our fancy Christmas dinner the Sunday before Christmas at my parents house. After dinner we had a special visit from Santa!

 We had our family Christmas dinner at Maggiano's again, then afterwards we went and saw the Christmas display at the Bellagio. Jace brought along his friend Erick. We had an enjoyable night- I love keeping up with traditions!

Thanksgiving 2015

We had a great traditional Thanksgiving with my family. Turkey, mashed potatoes, and all of the usuals were on the table. We enjoyed dinner, socializing, and a quick trip to Target to grab some great deals!

MEANWHILE.......

Lauren got invited to spend the Thanksgiving holiday plus a week (10 days total if i recall correctly) in Cancun, Mexico with her friend Sydney and her parents. They scuba dived, visited the ancient Mayan ruins in Chichen Itza, swam in some under ground cave pools, had the dead skin eaten off their feet by little fish, got called Barbie by the guys in the marketplace, got pulled over by police holding machine guns, got their hair braided, lounged on the beach, and ate lots of great food. Sounds like they had a great time! An experience she will surely never forget!!
