FaceTime Friends

Owen has a new buddy, Luke, aka Lukie Pazookie. He lives in Utah, but that doesn't stop the from hanging out. Almost every morning, Owen asks me to talk to Luke and Cassidy. They FaceTime and have conversations about who knows what, and show each other their cars and toys. Cass is his nanny, and so it's fun to have "her" boy and mine almost the exact same age. When we went to SLC in March, we went to the Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point together. Those two were so busy it was impossible to get a picture of them together. Luke showed Owen all the coolest things. Joe enjoyed the water area the best, and Owen loved running around the Rainforest play structure. They had a blast together!

A few days later, we met up at Scheels and Cass took Lukie and O on the Ferris wheel. It was hilarious to see their little faces! They liked looking at the fish, and pointing out every animal they saw. We can't wait to go play with them again, but until then, FaceTime will have to do!

Boys everywhere!

I'm so behind on documenting our life!
My funny little boys are growing so fast, and keeping me VERY busy. Owen wants to "help" with everything from holding Joseph to making his breakfast. Today he insisted on getting the pancake mix out for me and putting it on the counter himself. To my surprise, with the exception of a LOT of grunting, he did it with no problem. Joseph is already 2 months old, and today I had to get out the 6 month footie outfits because he's so long!
I love these sweet little boys!

The Adventures Continue!

It's been forever and a day since I blogged, and much has happened. We up and moved again, this time to Carson City. Garrit got a job earlier than we expected, so we made the incredibly boring drive from Las Vegas to Carson and found a home. In 24 days from start to finish, we found, offered, closed and moved in to our first real home. We've moved SO many times, and it's nice to be in a place, in OUR house, where we will stay for many years to come. Everything fell into place so perfectly with the job and someone to take Garrit's old job that he had to leave early (Geri you are a life saver!) and with finding a house. The market up here is pretty sparse, but we found exactly what we needed and wanted. I love my house!

Last week my baby sister graduated high school, and O and I went down for it. I'm so proud of her. Cristina is one of the smartest, most athletic, most beautiful girls I know! She's going to BYU-H to play volleyball. I love you Crisser!

The biggest adventure happening around here is that Joseph Scott, baby boy #2 is expected to be making his entrance to the world and our family in early August!
at 28 weeks
This pregnancy has had a LOT of the same challenges as Owen's, but this time I knew what works best for my body and baby. Still, hyperemesis gravidarum (think morning sickness times a thousand) is not fun. At all. I lost a good 15 pounds in my first trimester, even with a strict medication schedule. Thankfully, unlike with Owen, the vomiting eased up around week 20, and since then I've only had to take the medication once or twice a week, instead of every few hours. Now, at week 32, I'm enjoying the typical pregnancy symptoms- heartburn, leg cramps, interrupted sleep, exhaustion, all while chasing a 19 month old who likes to throw dirt, eat rocks and random construction debris he finds in the garage, and climb on the kitchen table. But I'm loving it! I'm so excited to have another boy, and for the adventures to continue!

Duck Creek

For Labor Day, we took a little family vacation up to Duck Creek. It was so fun to have the time together. We hung out in the BEAUTIFUL cabin, explored the woods, hiked, rode four wheelers, watched the rain, cooked in the dutch oven and just relaxed all weekend. I love vacations like that!

Checking out the tree fort
Loving it!

Hiking

At 10 Months...

Owen's on the move!
He crawls FAST
Stands in his crib and bangs on the wall with his hands when he wants out
Pulls chairs out from the table
Eats peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
Two top teeth finally cut his gums, and he likes to grind them against his bottom teeth
Tries to play with the vertical blinds constantly
Loves books, remotes, cellphones, controllers, laptops, ripping paper
Rarely sleeps thru the night
Begs for whatever we're eating
Pulls himself up to everything and cruises
Can take a step without holding anything to get from one piece of furniture to another
Loves to play in the kitchen cupboards
Watches Sesame Street with his face 8 inches from the TV
Pulls out plugs
Broke his dresser drawer but pulling it out and hanging from the handle
Loves his Grandpa's German Shepard
Knows what "no" means but doesn't care
Sings during church and in the car
Still nurses and takes a binky
Copies faces
"talks"
A sneaky little squirt- he'll take stuff he knows he's not supposed to play with down the hallway to hide
Loves to go fast on 4-wheelers, the Sea-doo, and in the grocery cart
Eats rocks faster than I can catch him
Repeats "hola"
Likes to hang out in the shower and put his face in the water
Blows bubbles in the bathtub
Loves to brush his teeth
Gives high fives
Gives kisses, but sometimes bites
Weighs almost 19 pounds
Wears 18 month footie pajamas
Can still wear his 6 month shorts
Tall and Skinny
Funny, Naughty, Sweet, and Hilarious!

I really hope nothing's toxic in the backyard...

8 months old

8 month old Owen

Owen is a funny little man these days. He weighs about 17 pounds and is 2 feet 4 inches tall. He has two bottom front teeth, and they are SHARP. The top two are on their way, so it makes a grouchy boy some nights. He did pretty well with his first two teeth, but the next set are not so easy. Owen wants to be on the move, but the crawling thing just isn't happening yet. He gets up on all fours and rocks, but no forward movement as of yet. He got a walker last week, and he caught on pretty quick. Just this morning he figured out he can follow his dad around in it. He loves to cuddle for naps, but spend the time pulling hair and poking faces instead of sleeping. He eats anything we give him except normal baby food. He prefers the purees I blend for him, especially the ones that have meat in them. Little carnivore. He loves Yogurt Drops and cheerios, and after weeks of them being all over the floor, he's finally figured out how to get them into his mouth with minimum treat loss. The crazy amount of spitting up has stopped as he's eating more and more solids everyday. Owen's favorite book is Doggies, because it makes us sound ridiculous. He's obsessed with water, be it drinking out of a cup, splashing in the bathtub, or swimming.

We love our little boy!
