E8400 EO stepping no doubt is a good proc. But Q9505 which released on June 2009, with Mr. P help, manage to get my hand on it was really impressive. Below is E8400 and above is Q9505. Cant really tell the different physically, the shape i mean. Performance wise it was a big difference.

I render a video with the length of 3mins..took me merely 15-20mins with added animation on it…40% faster!! of cause not just the miracle from the proc but also i oc the ram and proc to 3.4ghz.

Hope this setting can survive on the next 3yrs. idle temp 24 ‘C and load 28’c-36’c it better don’t give me problem. If not i forever don’t trust intel and switch to amd. haha.

A bad move?

I just found myself very quick in making decision especially when come to thing that I enthuse, for example like yesterday with an unexpected call of a friend asking my opinion on his purchase of a secondhand pc and because I always think of getting a better performance desktop and I just let slip that I was going to sell off my old pc then he asked me how much so I just do a basic calculation to him. To cut the whole story short, yea, I am selling off my pc this friday. I was just realised that I can make a better choice if I wasn’t too quick to say yes to my friend. But, what is gone is gone. I anticipating on a new one this coming April 3-5 Pikom Pc Fair.

Let’s talk how my old pc spec are:

P4 1.6ghz processor, gigabyte motherboard, 512mb+256mb ram, 160gb hd, 256mb ati graphic card, sony dvd-burner, and ATX tower casing with 400watt psu.

and the spec that I will probably have:

C2D 2.6ghz(est. rm240)
ASUS mainboard (budget rm200)
2gb PC800 DDR2 ram (est. rm 65)
320gb hd(rm0)
ATI graphic card (budget rm200)
DVD-burner(budget rm80)
ATX Computer casing with psu(budget rm 100)
total: rm890- rm200=rm690-rm400=rm290

cost to get a new set of pc = rm290 after exclude upgradable component and deduction from the sale of old pc.

*est. = my own estimation of pc fair price.

well, not a really bad move. But it could be a better move which I can be very happy to make when I thought of it last night. Anyway, the purpose of getting new set of pc is to trying out newly released beta version of Windows 7, Adobe After Effect, Pinnacle Studio 12, Sony Vegas 9, Adobe CS4, and to buy time+peace(you have no idea how many time you wasted in waiting the pc to log on, response to your command and emotionally hush of having a fast enough pc)

Thinking of Mac

My wish for this year is to get a Macbook. Not a need but just want...MacBook Unibody

Jonathan Ive, Apple’s chief designer said:

“Traditionally notebooks are made from multiple parts. With the new MacBook, we’ve replaced all of those parts with just one part—the unibody. The MacBook’s unibody enclosure is made from a single block of aluminum, making the new MacBook fundamentally thinner, stronger and more robust with a fit and finish that we’ve never even dreamed of before,”

I called it as "One Piece". ehe(I here refer to me myself)

And Steve Jobs claimed:

“Apple has invented a whole new way of building notebooks from a single block of aluminum. And, just as important, they are the industry’s greenest notebooks.

The new MacBooks offer incredible features our users will love —like their stunning all-metal design,

great 3D graphics and LED backlit displays

Macbook LCD

—at prices up to $700 less than before.”

All these not really make me excited unless when he says:

Promotional next month with 30% discount and I will definately go all my way to get this baby.

...but sad is only happen in my dream...

ten yrs cycle is coming... precisely now is happening so better don't simply spend money on unnecessary stuff.

Let me introduce this lovely one

I'm sorry forgot to introduce this lovely one. Month ago I was keep waiting and now finally arrived. Yeah! Can say love in first sight when I first encounter this lovely one. Lovely isn’t it? Though I'm a love in many sights type of person, appearance wise I can’t say much but the price(starting at $349), spec (SSD man 2x faster than the hdd we using now) and the mobility is really trigger me la. Just imagine sitting at the back of the boring lecture instead of listening the stupid slides reading presentation from the lecturer I rather do my FYP at the back there. Syok right? hehe… I wanna sell off my lappie for this lovely one. Indeed.

But sad thing is it wasn’t available in Malaysia yet. Haiz. Can only find it at State’s Dell wedsite.

And this lovely one named Inspiron Mini 9.

Ok, here’s the spec overview:
