Barcelona, Spain.
There was so much beauty.
The architecture was astounding. Not just here, & there, but street after
street. I couldn’t snap and focus fast
enough. How this entire city survived WW
II is amazing. I am so thankful it did.
Little known facts about Barcelona: They are very proud of the fact that there
are more motorbikes in Barcelona,
than in any other city in the world, They just out did Mexico
City, thank you very much.
And finally - - - Hm-m-m.
The things that make you go “Hm-m-m” - - -
There are more pickpockets in Barcelona
than any other city in Europe. (Didn’t get the award
there. But, hey, there’s always hope for
next year) AND it is not a punishable crime
unless they take over $250 per person or $400 per day.

This is the La Familial.
A church, designed by Goudi (pronounced Gouthee). I’m sorry, but it is possibly the ugliest
building I have ever seen. I truly looks
like a pile of sculpted mud. With huge
grapes, and pineapples and other fruit around the top, I think there are12 Spires,
with 13 more to go, even taller. But to
be honest, I understand the inside is completely opposite the outside – light airy
and absolutely beautiful, and the wait was 2 hours long.
Everyone lives in apartments; there are no suburbs around Barcelona.
There are shops below, the owners of the shop have the apartments directly
above the shop (the “1st “ floor) and then they rent the upper
floors to other people.

But, there are

These are historic homes (aren’t they all?) They the one on
the right was designed by the Architect Goudi, of La Familial fame. It is very organic, with birds, blossom, and
trees as a theme.
Everything is beautiful.
Even the Street Entertainers.
I couldn’t resist the color, the concentration and the
subject matter. He was wonderful!
A very old Catholic church (1300-1400 AD) sit on top of Roman
Ruins that are being excavated, and below a fortress on the hill.
The Knights Templar symbols show upon a wall and on the floor of the Barcelona Catherdral, in this land that has been knowingly settled since 47 AD.
First remember I am an artist. I have Minor is Art , with 12 years of art classes behind me.
Now look thru my eyes. . . and see the beauty.
