Is It Summer Yet?!

I am not going to lie...I have been dreaming about summer break the past couple days. Even though work will consume my life, I am looking forward to hanging out with this guy all summer...

Yes! I love hanging out with my little brother who is way taller than me! One of my favorite things to do with him is to go play tennis. Every once in awhile, we will get our dad to play with us. But it's fun when it's just us. He kicks my butt every time! I'm hoping since I took a tennis class, I might be able to keep up with him!

I also hope his driving has gotten better. I remember when he drove my car for the first time last summer after getting his permit, I was scared to death! It was so much fun though! This summer, we just need to add the sport of golf to our list of things to do! Almost just 1 month left!

Just Another Day...

3 months later and nothing has changed. I'm almost done with school and couldn't be more happier! I have 2 more semesters left. They will be hard semesters but well worth it! This semester I have a rat that I train. Different but kind of fun :)

About a month ago, Kevin had a track meet close so I was able to go down and watch him! I was amazed at how well his high jump looks now compared to last year! He must be a college athlete!

This past weekend, I went down to go see Kevin!(That's not all I do, promise!) Why? Because he got his mission call! He is going to Maceio Brazil on July 11th! It's weird to see my little brother grow up! But I am so excited for him! While I was down there, I was able to see Holly Schram! It's been several years since we last saw each other so we had a great reunion! I was also able to go to a basketball game with Kevin and his friends. It was a fun weekend away from the stress of school!

Sorry there isn't a lot to update on! School is just busy. I love school, friends, doctors, church, family, and life. :)

I'm Still Alive...

Yup! Still alive and kickin'. School is tough but life is good. Isn't that how most of my posts go? Well I love it! I'll give you pictures because that's the best part right? :)

Paige, Lanette, and I went to go eat ice cream on the first day it snowed...crazy I know. But that's what we do :)

Lanette had her birthday so we celebrated! Party!

One weekend, I went down to visit Kevin for a few days! He gave me a tour of campus and showed me the guys track team locker room. Yeah, I got lucky huh?! We went to a football and just played. It was fun to hang out with my little brother who isn't so little anymore :)

I had my big birthday too! I went to class, came home and Lanette took me out for breakfast (I get done with classes really early). I then kind of relaxed all day and opened my birthday package while skyping with my family! It was the highlight of the day :) I then went to dinner at Costa Vida with my friends. My wonderful FHE brothers got me all the soda. They know I like Dr. Pepper. So they thought it would be great to get me a ton of Dr. Pepper. Don't worry, I haven't even come close to finishing it all.

Lastly, I went shooting! Lanette is in a photography class and she needed a picture with motion...so we went to go blow things up! Our FHE brother Ben took us and we had a blast! Yeah, I didn't know how to hold a gun for the life of me so it was probably hilarious to watch. A ton of fun though! We shot soda cans, potatoes (which I successfully hit), and pumpkins. :)

This semester has been a ton of fun! Don't worry, I'm studying a ton too! I'm getting close to finishing! It's so exciting! Love you all!

4 Years Already?!

October 11th is a date that is always stuck in the back of my mind.

Can you believe it's been 4 years since I had my surgery?! Tonight, I went for a run as the sun was setting (it was perfect) and I was able to ponder on how I now have the ability to run. My tumor did so much without me knowing. I was living off 1 lung and swimming? Well, I'm just happy I get to run now because it's the 1 thing I look forward to several nights a week.
I'm happy with the experiences I have gone through. They have made me me and they make me happy. For one of my psych classes, I had to write a paper on happiness. As I was writing the paper, I thought about what has gone on in my life that made me happy. It was the surgery. It was getting diagnosed with Crohn's. That was the only way I was able to find out what true happiness was. That was the best paper I ever wrote. To end, I will share a little bit from my paper
"A huge question to me is, why do people put on “fake happiness” when others are around? You can only fake happiness for so long. Why put yourself through pain to show people you try to be happy? To find your true happiness, I feel like you need to experience hard times. Life isn’t going to be great all the time. There are trials given to us for us to grow. Trials are the key to happiness. Without the trials in my life, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. I know this is true. When we suffer through hard times, we are able to find out what makes us happy because that’s all you can cling to."

I had an accident...

As many of you know, I am finally back at school. I love it. I have great roommates, awesome FHE brothers, and fun/hard classes. (The hard classes are psychology ones. The fun ones are tennis and golf) Thursday, 3 of my FHE brothers were wanting to go mountain biking. They invited me along. It was such a beautiful day, I just couldn't say no.
The afternoon was great and one of the guys let me use his biking stuff to go down the hill first. I was ok with that. I was actually kind of excited. Well, about 5 minutes into my ride, I had a crazy fall. The best part about it? We got it on video.
The helmet I was borrowing had a camera on it. So of course, we just had watch over and over again, this awesome crash. With the help of one of my FHE brothers, there is music it's awesome!

I am doing great though! Little sore but healing great. I got great doctor roommates.

WARNING: These are sickly awesome

I'm doing a lot better. I was lucky that the guys I went with were always prepared for situations like this. It reminded me of dirt bike riding with dad. Always prepared no matter what. I'm slow walking and my teachers are cool about everything. They loved hearing the story. Enjoy the video and love you all!

I like my friends...I like baseball better :)

This past weekend, my friends and I made a trip up to a baseball game in Seattle. It was the first time all 4 of us got together since the boys got home from their missions. This was a fun weekend full of craziness! I will just list pictures...they are more fun to look at.

Yes, she met Ichiro...I was parking the stupid car

We got on the big screen...if you look closely you can see us.

It was an awesome game because they actually won! Fun weekend. Sun, friends, and baseball. I'm glad it's finally summer :)

I Did It!!!

I have NEVER been a runner. Usually I was beat after running half way around the track. Yeah, it was bad. I decided though, I wanted to run a "legit" race. So I signed up for a 5k run with my dad. And you know what? I did it. I crossed that finish line so happy cuz I did it. Nothing can get in my way :)

Oh, it helped having my 2 best friends at the end of the race cheering me on. Gosh, it's so nice having them back :)

You can do anything you want to do. Even if it feels impossible. It's not. I learned that.
