arrr me matey's

This wonderful little character arrived yesterday from Lucy at Speckled Egg as her part of our swap. Thank-you so much Lucy, Finley loves his little pirate. I had to thief the photo from Lucy's blog as Luke has "misplaced" my camera. hmmm. Hopefully it is found soon so Fin can show off his new little dude good and proper.
P.S. I am hoping to prettify my blog sometime over the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately the missing camera isn't helping this :(

sending and receiving

... and a little bit of crafting thrown in.
1/. Hoodie for Lucy at Speckled Egg to be posted tomorrow. We are doing a swap and I can't wait to receive the gorgeous little Pirate she has made for Fin!! Stay tuned.

2/. A surprise parcel from my gorgeous mum. Hand knitted socks for Finley and I and some cute little "pumpkin" (as we like to call them) hats for Pipi when he/she arrives.

3/. Finley broke my sunglasses on saturday. They were the best pair I have ever owned and I was gutted. But they were only cheap and it gave me an excuse to go shopping yesterday and make something for myself to hide the new sunnies in!

Hope you all had wonderful weekends! xx

thrifty goodness

I haven't had much luck at the local op-shops lately, sometimes coming home with absolutely nothing (which is normally a rare occurance for me). But last week I was lucky enough to stumble upon these goodies.

super-awesone raffia bag/box, which with be fantastic to store either my patterns in or cloth wipes in if pipi-bub turns out to be a boy. $3.

pretty vintage bowl ($4), tea canister($4) and teaspoon cup (50c).

Gingham apron with embroidery (50c). I have been looking around the Tauranga op-shops for so long looking for a pretty apron that wasnt covered in icky stains, and I finally found one (yay!).

I also managed to pick up an old tool box for luke ($3), a good pile of vintage floral fabrics and a beautiful knitted shawl for bub($2) which unfortunately was stored in sleeping Fin's wardrobe while I was taking the photo's.

wraaar

and I promise I dont usually let him climb on the table like that....

feeling human again

I very much shot myself in the foot with that last post! I've been what you could call quite ill for a while now and I took a hard turn which left me unable to do much for a month or so. There has been much of doing this:

(please ignore stupid look on my face)

And drinking/eating a lot of these:

Fortunately I've come right now and am slowly catching up on the things that got on top of me. Luke even convinced me to venture out into the cold (yes, he is wearing shorts and jandals in the middle of winter, crazy!

We also went for a lovely walk on one of the tracks near Lake Okataina near Rotorua, with some visitors from Ireland, but unfortunately the camera battery was flat so no photos, which is a real shame because the native bush was beautiful.

I've even been able to start some new projects and do a little work in some works in progress.
I've made Luke 2 tee-shirts as well as having another and 2 hoodies cut for him. I've made Finley a pair of loungers and cut some size 2 clothing for him (the growing never stops!), as well as cutting myself a top/tunic:

I've started knitting a hat for Finley, too and cut a pile of hoodies and loungers which need to be attacked.

I've also finished these:

they've been works in progress since Finleys tiny days and are now awaiting another special project.

pipi-bub 12w1d

(unfortunately not as clear as fins 12w scan but measuring 1 week small so might be why)
