Utah!

We made a trip up to Utah shortly after Christmas.  Last year there was no snow and it was 50 degrees.  Perfect weather to play outside.... but my kids were disappointed that there was no snow.  This year.... they were stoked!  Lots and lots and lots of snow!   Maddy was the first one out and playing in it.  She couldn't wait!

We decided that we HAD to go sledding while we were here.  There was just way too much great snow!  So, it took us 2 hours to dress and get ready and we headed up Maple Mountain to find a good sledding spot.  Some day I will invest in some great snow shoes and spend some afternoons snowshoeing or cross country skiing.  We passed so many people doing that.  It looked so fun! (Fun as in doing it by myself or with another adult... no kids :) )  Anyway, we found a great little spot for sledding.  We only lasted about 30 min... but I'm SO glad we did it.

My Brother Casey brought along his little girl MaKaylee.... or "KK" as we called her the whole trip
                                                                  She's such a sweetie!

Livi and KK.  Doesn't Livi look sweet and nice.  You'd never know she spent the entire trip terrorizing her cousins. :)

Travis in who knows how many layers..... ready for some sledding and snow fights.

Oh my gosh... I just love this little face SO much!!

Casey and KK

Maddy and Hallie had a blast.  I loved this picture of them laughing!

Ready Set..... GO!!

Snow fights with Dad.  I don't know why I kept getting included.  I prefer to just take pictures.

Being from Arizona, we don't have great snow gear.  The girls went up there in leggings covered by Jeans.  We were able to scrounge together some snow gloves and boots.  Thank goodness.... but it didn't take long before all of their legs were NUMB.
Poor KK just had on little fleece mittens that were wet and cold.  No fun!

This is Hallie's cold face/cry.  She was done.  She was actually done before we stepped more than 20 feet out of the car.  I'm guessing she'll not take up skiing any time soon.

Dare devil Maddy having a blast going off little cliffs

I love her adventurous spirit!

I love this area.  This is just a 2 min drive up from my house.  It was so fun to be able to take my kids up here!

My Dad and Casey's other daughter Adalee.  So sweet

She was the happiest baby. Travis kept trying to make me baby hungry with her.  Didn't work.  :)

My Older Brother Mickey, his wife Carolina, and their youngest Victoria. So sweet!

PART II

We spent a few days with my family and then headed up to Eden (up Ogden canyon) to visit with Travis' Dad and his family.

Paga and the girls

Paga always has a roaring fire for us!

They love story time with Paga

Maddy observing Paga and the fire :)

Travis doing..... not quite sure.  But we love the little singing mexican fiesta donkey that he is holding.  It dances and sings Feliz Navidad.  Funniest little thing!

Dylan, Paga, and Travis

It was someone's bright idea to get bundled up and go for a walk.  (mine)  We got outside and it was SO SO cold.  We should have known that if after 5 minutes outside we were beyond freezing, that it wasn't going to get any better.  We pushed on though.  Later we found out it was 2 degrees outside.  A little chilly for a nice walk.

Travis trying to coax Livi up the hill.

We made a goal to walk up to the ski resort.  It's a 5 minute walk from Paga's house. (Nordic Valley Ski Resort)  Kenna didn't make it.  We turned around probably just before I got this shot.  But, you can see the ski lift lights up on the hill.  It's SO gorgeous!

I love Eden.  It's pretty all year long, but in the winter it looks just like a beautiful wintery Christmas Card

Christmas Morning

Travis and I told the girls they couldn't get up any earlier than 8:30.  I know... mean huh.  Luckily after staying up for a late Christmas Eve... they slept in for a while.  But... 8:30 came and they ran down stairs.  We heard their pitter patter run past our room and down the stairs.  Then, the squeals of excitement and surprise.  I think that may have been my favorite part of the day.  I know these young years are precious and will go by so quickly.  I hope I can remember those sweet sounds forever!

Always a little Poser :)

Travis and the Girls

Just wanted to take a few pictures of some of our Christmas decor.
I made these stockings this year without directions or a pattern.  Once I got a couple done and worked out all the kinks... the rest didn't take too long.  I almost gave up though.  Sewing with Burlap can be VERY frustrating.

This is my Red Tree.  It keeps evolving every year.  But I really loved it this year.

This is our Pink tree.  Yes, Pink!  With a house full of girls we CAN have a pink tree.
This tree keeps evolving too.  But, it's pink for now :)
