This Boy Is!



And what a fun day he had.

There was pizza.
There was cake and ice cream (yummy!).


Look how well this big boy uses a spoon.
Jed thought the cake would be everywhere since we just let Sawyer have at it. The little guy surprised his daddy though by eating most of it and staying relatively clean.














He did require a quick dip in the kitchen sink after all that frosting.


There were presents (and lots of them).
Sawyer was spoiled.
He had some help opening presents, otherwise he would still be playing with the first one. He loved every present, but he has played with the balloons we bought to decorate with the most. I think on the next present giving day I will just buy him some balloons and save myself some money.






There was family.
Sawyer loves a crowd.
He loved all the attention and all the "kids" to play with (Sawyer L.O.V.E.S. his cousins.) He smiled the entire night and loved the chaos.


Happy Birthday Baby! It has been a fun filled year with you entertaining us with your smile, your messes, and your humor. We love, love, love you!



And no post would be complete without Sawyer's most recent (as in while I was blogging and maybe not watching him as well as I should have) mess.



This boy loves sugar! Yum. If mom wont give it to him, he will find it himself. Nothing a mop and a bath wont take care of! (Well that's not true, even after the bath his face was a lovely shade of pink.)

The Case of the Missing Peeps

I hate to admit it, but it took me awhile to put the Easter basket away. I usually let Sawyer roam free throughout the house while Jed is at work (Jed keeps a tighter reign on the boy). I was in the kitchen doing dishes and Sawyer had been looking out the window (wishing and hoping upon a star that his mom would take him outside so he could pet the puppy next door). It became very VERY quiet, I knew something was up, then I started hearing Sawyer say MMMMmmm. I went in the living room and laughed so hard. This boy is just like his mother, if there is a treat to be had...its had. There were peep pieces all over the floor. He was blue and sticky, but I couldn't get mad because he had the biggest grin on his face, instead I got the camera.

He moved on to the chocolate once I took the rest of the peeps away. It was a total disaster to clean up, but oh well, he sure looks adorable covered in sugar.

"Bampa"

Sawyer hit the 10 month mark last week. We have so much fun with him.
Here are some things we love about our Sawyer Bean:

He's huge. He is already wearing 12-18 month clothes.
He loves to play, laugh and smile.
He loves attention.
He can make Indian sounds and gestures "AhAhAh"
He can stand up while holding on to objects, such as the bathtub and couch.
He sometimes has a shy side and turns his head into my shoulder.
He has 4 teeth on top and 3 on bottom.
He has been pulling his hair out on the sides.
He can throw a football "go long dad!"
He whispers to himself while playing.
He scrunches up his nose like his mom did when she was little.
He can say Da (dad), Kee (kitty) and Bampa (grandpa)

Sawyer's Grandpa Garn passed away last week unexpectedly. It was such a shock to the family and such a sad experience.
He lost his voice the end of January. It never came back so he went in for a few test and (long story short) was diagnosed with cancer. He had a three surgeries over the course of a 2 week time period, but was unable to survive a rapidly growing mass in his neck.
My heart breaks just knowing Sawyer will not remember his "Bampa", that he will not be able to play with the TRAIN that all the grand kids have enjoyed with Garn. That he only had 10 months and 2 days with his Grandpa.
My heart breaks for my husband who lost his dad and friend at such a young age.
Garn was such a good man, a great dad, and a wonderful husband.
We will miss him dearly and will have a void in our life for a long time.

Family, friends and especially the gospel have brought us peace and understanding during such a trying time . We have had some spiritual experiences in our home and are grateful for them.

Our Family Vacation

We took Sawyer on his very first family vacation!
Here are a few pictures of our adventures in California.

The Zoo:











I loved the zoo. I didn't think I would because I don't really care for animals, but we had a really good time. Sawyer loved pointing at the elephants and the polar bears. The gorilla's put on a pretty awesome show (unintended). They had the whole crowd laughing and gagging at meal time as an old gorilla flung poo and then ate cabbage with the same hand. In the children's petting zoo we let Sawyer play with the goats, at first he was a little timid but he warmed up quickly and smiled behind his Binky while we were petting those stinky animals. He got a little sleepy and missed a few exhibits, but I think, all in all, he had a good time at the zoo.


SEA WORLD:








We had fun at Sea World. We went to all the shows and walked through every exhibit. We also enjoyed our $18 kids meal hot dog. Sawyer really enjoyed the Shamu show, as you can tell in the photos above he is playing with the chain link fence instead of paying attention. A group of Asian people were taking picture after picture of Sawyer. Apparently he is a very cute American child. He of course loved every minute of it, he was waving, blowing kisses, and smiling his biggest smile. In hindsight, we should of charged each of them a few dollars so we could of afforded an adult meal instead of the kids meal.
Sawyer almost jumped in while they were feeding the dolphins, and he loved petting the stingray and the starfish.

THE BEACH:







Sawyer loved the beach. He ate so much sand. He had sand in every crevasse of his body (seen above on his naked shot), it was hilarious. He still has sand in his ears (four days later) that I can't get out.
Sawyer made a friends at the beach. He kept blowing her kisses and coughing to get her attention. She loved every second of it and the two of them played for over an hour together. She was from Idaho and was in San Diego for a conference. He flirted with her and ate her bag of chips (she was so kind to share).





Sawyer loved the hotel pool. He splashed and splashed and laughed at Jed when he would swim underneath and then come up and say hello to Sawyer who would splash him and then point for him to do it again.

We ate at some yummy places too (no photos of me devouring food, sorry people!) We had watched an episode of Man vs Food that took place in San Diego and Adam recommended Phil's BBQ. It was so good. All three of us made mmmm'ing noises while we ate our tri-tip sandwiches. We went to the Cheesecake Factory and loved every bite. We had to order our cheesecake to go because we were so full. We also ate at Oggi's. They had delicious pizza. I think I gained 200 lbs in one week, it was a good thing the hotel had a gym.

I was nervous taking a nine month old who hates his car seat on a road trip, but Sawyer was the greatest baby! He loved traveling and was so happy the whole time. We had a great vacation and can't wait for our next adventure as a family.

what a wonderful year

With the start of a new year, I took a moment to look back at the past twelve month. 2010 was a great year for the Pollock's


In January we found out we were having what looked like a good sized/healthy BOY! My mom couldn't believe that I was breaking tradition and for the next five months repeated over and over "A Boy? Really? You are having a BOY?" But there was no mistake, the ultrasound picture PROVED it! HE is all BOY.


IN February the belly really started showing.

Also, my friend Maria Helena came from Spain for a visit. Nine years apart and it felt like a day hadn't even passed.



In March Jed and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary. We had fun -for the last time of it being- just the two of us.

April cruised by with baby showers galore. Oh boy, oh boy were we spoiled by family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors.
In May we anticipated the birth of our child. We anticipated, anticipated, and then a.n.t.i.c.i.p.a.t.e.d some more, but to no avail....

A JUNE BABY!!!


(The morning we went to the hospital, for my scheduled induction. - A WEEK LATE.)


Our precious little boy finally came, and has been a joy ever since.

Fourth of July parades and party's made the month of July go by so quickly.



Baby Darcy was born near the end of July, making her and Sawyer only six weeks apart! (it's so fun to be pregnant the same time as your sister)

Sawyers blessing day was the first of August. Such a handsome boy, (his dad's not so bad either.)


September I went back to work...enough said.

In October Sawyer went on his first camping trip and celebrated his first Halloween as Frankenstein! SO ADORABLE!



November was a busy month.

November 17, 2010 was a very important day for our family! Grandma and Grandpa Beazer were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple by President Sheldon Childs (A Syracuse native) Being in the temple while my grandpa's work was completed was a very a special way to celebrate the one year anniversary since he passed away. It was especially sacred and meaningful as I walked into the celestial room and saw my Aunt Sandi, looking beautiful in white, sitting and waiting for the rest of us.

Sawyer was ready for some Turkey on his first Thanksgiving (of course I have no proof of this since I am a horrible mom and didn't even take the camera to the Barn.)

December was full of Christmasy (is that a word?) stuff. We spent lots of time with Hayley, Brinkley (tickle tickle) and Darcy.
I worked Christmas day so Sawyer was kind enough to WAIT to open all his presents when I got home. He was so fun on Christmas. He loved the paper I wrapped his presents in!


We couldn't have asked for a better year!
