Married?

A student asked me this question today-

"Are you married?"

Me: "Not that I'm aware of"

"I thought you were married!"

Me: "What made you think that?"

"You look like you're married!"

Me: "How so?"

"Well, you walk without a smile, and always look like you're mad!"

Me: "Stop making me laugh and get back to work!"

Taylor, the Latte Boy's story...

It's always good to get more than one perspective of a story especially in a "His / Here " take.

Here's one I found it couldn't be truer in...

Kristin Chenoweth, Taylor, the Latté Boy (Her's)

Taylor, the Latté Boy (His)

I was driving home from work today when these thoughts of reflection came to my head:

There is no art form I enjoy more than the art of doing nothing. It actually requires a lot of hard work. Letting wistful days pass you by demands strict discipline and commands much concentrated effort.

But in the few and far between when stillness gives me company, I welcome her with open arms. It is in this moment of being still I catch a rare glimpse of the leaves waltzing with the wind, and it is in the moment of being still when the exchange of laughter between treasured company reverberates effortlessly.

Oh please give me more moments of stillness!
Let us revel together and ready ourselves for the moments that will thrive as cherished memories.
Aaah, I am not afraid of stillness.
But au contraire my dear friend!
I invite you to come join me more frequently.
Because it is when you keep me company that I learn from your wisdom and your strength fortifies my soul.

I am the Master of my fate: I am the Captain of My Soul

I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
