To all the Mommies out there... your feedback requested PLEASE :)

Ok so it's been nearly three months since my last post and I thought the blog would help me keep up on "journaling," but obviously it hasn't. Anyway, we went to our doctor appointment a few days ago and the doctor let us know that we have TEN WEEKS LEFT!!!

I can't tell you how excited we are, there are no words to describe it (however I'm sure those of you that have been through this experience probably remember). I CAN tell you how unprepared I feel. I always heard how time just drags when you are pregnant, well not for us... I realize 10 weeks is still some time but with the holidays approaching I think it's going to be here before we know it.

That being said, HELP!!!! I need some advice, not sure exactly what questions to ask so give me any advice that was helpful for you with your first baby :)

1. What diapers work best? (Especially for boys) Is there that much of a difference?

2. Pacifiers? Is there a certain brand that works better than the others?

3. Laundry? What detergent do you like for your baby? (I do realize the need to wash separate from your normal laundry)

4. Baby rash? What works best for your babies?

5. Sleep schedule? Is there such thing with a baby-ha ha... but do you find routine helpful?

6. If formula is necessary (hoping it won't be) what do/did you use?

7. What do you suggest packing for the hospital trip? Things you wish you would have packed? Things you're so glad you did pack?

8. When did you go to the hospital? How far in between contractions?

9. Did you take any birthing classes or any other classes?

10. What did you do to prepare your home for your new baby? And when did you do it all?

I know there are plenty more questions that could be asked so any additional advice from all my favorite mommies is MORE THAN APPRECIATED!!!

Nate and I are so thrilled to have Dax here, we're just a little nervous about being the best parents in the world to him, you know because that's our goal in life now :) Love you ladies and can't wait for all the advice!!! We NEED it!!!

Just a quick "I love you..."

My sweet baby boy,

Today Daddy and I got to see you for a while at our ultrasound and I can't even begin to tell you how I feel. We already love you so very much and can't wait until you're here with us. You were pretty shy today and faced away from the camera as much as you could- I believe you get this from your dad- because it certainly doesn't come from me. You are doing great and growing so strong and we couldn't be happier!! Dax, I just want you to know that as time goes on and I think of the kind of mom I want to be I just hope and pray that you will always feel loved, that you will know without a doubt that I love you, your Daddy loves you and that your Heavenly Father loves you. My love for you grows stronger every day. You made my day today and I just wanted to say I LOVE YOU!!!
Love you forever,
Mommy

My Apologies...

This post may come as a shock to a few of you but most of you already know that Nate and I are expecting our first little angel in January. Our lives changed on May 26th 2010. I remember the night before I was extra emotional and told Nate I felt like I was ready to be a mommy. The next day, more on wishful thinking than anything I took a pregnancy test and MUCH to my surprise it was POSITIVE!!!! We'd only been off the pill for a few months and thought for sure it would take longer than that for it to happen, but apparently our timing was right. I didn't have to work that day and Alex was coming over that morning. I couldn't help but tell her right when she got there, I don't think Nate was too shocked to find out he was the 2nd person to know hear the news, I'm just not very good and holding good news in :) So Alex and I figured out a way to tell Nate the good news!!! Nate came home for lunch and wasn't having a great day so I told him I had an idea to make it a little better. I took him back to the bathroom where the 2 pregnancy tests were and I had the movie Little Rascals sitting on the counter. He was very surprised and a little stunned I think but very excited. We've had one appointment so far and things are looking good. I am about 13 weeks along, have been a little under the weather and EXTREMELY tired. The doc says the due date is Jan. 24. We are so happy to be adding to our family and can't wait to be parents... except for that little (BIG) part of us that is so nervous that maybe Baby should just stay in my belly for as long as possible ha ha ha! I have some great friends that are all wonderful Mommies to look to for guidance and of course my fabulous mom and mother-in-law. So why I am so nervous... uh because it's a kid that I'm responsible for and that is a HUGE step!!! Sorry it took so long to post anything but I basically go to work, come home and eat and then I crash. Sleep is my friend right now, poor Nate is probably so bored of me being so tired OR loves the fact that his PS3 is his good friend when I'm sleeping :)
