week ??? We're hitting months now, and the number is about 5!

Well I've started back to work now, and I have dropped the ball on blogging! Well here we go then. Luna will be 5 months at the end of March. She's growing so fast and being super cute. She is crawling around her play mat, and likes to go fast when she sees something she really wants. Usually its her striped socks, which is funny because they're not toys at all, just articles of clothing that neither one of us has picked up yet. She is still going through some teething pains, but luckily it's not all day everyday, and I have teething drops that she loves to take. It's adorable actually, even when she's crying a lot she see's that I have it and grabs my hand and brings it to her mouth. Lately she has been grabbing things and holding onto them. Such as cups. She knows what they are and what to do with them. We decided to try letting her drink and she does a pretty good job so far, we just have to have a small amount of water in the cup and go slow. Sometimes she just spits the water out because she forgets to swallow it. It's pretty funny. She also likes to grab my hair. It's cute, for a second. I don't think I'll have any hair left by the end of the month. Luna loves to laugh and is an all around really happy baby. She is so spoiled with love and we are so spoiled with a wonderfully smart and chilled out baby. She does have her intense moments, but really if there is something interesting going on, she'd rather absorb that instead of being fussy.

week 12 & 13

Time flies when you're having fun, and time sure is flying. Luna is already about 13 weeks, which is on the later half of 2 months, so I just tell everyone is is almost 3 months. Or 2.5 months. It really depends on the day.
Luna has become more and more expressive with herself. She definitely talks to us and lets us know when she wants something. What's funny is that when you say, "let's talk" to her, she will get a great smile on her face and and start cooing at us and squealing. We love talking to her. For weeks she has been trying to sit up on her own, as well as standing when we hold her up. She is so eager to get moving, and sometimes she gets really frustrated when she can't move how she wants to. She of course continues to try and sit up even when she's sitting in her chair propped up. she is actively rolling over now onto her tummy and is slowly moving. She also has gotten better with holding her head up while she's on her tummy.
Our little coconut loves to observe everything, one of her favorite places to go is the kitchen, especially when Steve is there cookin' up somethin' fancy. It's the cutest thing. She'll sit up straight in my arms with her arms resting on my shoulders and her head propped up just watching everything. She is really curious and gets bored really easily. Sounds like trouble! But in all seriousness she's such a great baby, she hardly ever cries, and sleeps through the night. We are spoiled.
Our little Luna looks so tiny in her crib! She doesn't sleep by herself very often unfortunately.

8 weeks

Luna is just over 8 weeks, and if you're like me that doesn't tell me much. So, in laments terms, she's nearly 2 months old. Already! She is so smart, we think that sometimes she tries to sing along with Steve when he's singing to her. She does this by squealing when Steve is singing, and when he stops, she stops. It was pretty funny. She has been wanting to move and crawl a lot, but can't figure out how to move everything at once. She really likes being propped up on something like her boppy, or if one of us is sitting on the floor she likes to be leaning on our leg. She'll basically stand on her own and lean over whatever she's propped on and move up until she face plants. It's great. (and of course we're with her at all times and know when she's about to face plant so we can rescue her. She never gets hurt.)
This morning when we were waking up she was really really wiggly on the bed, at first I thought she was too hot, so I took off her swaddle, that didn't help. So as I watched I realized that she was trying to turn over. she has been working on this for about a week maybe, but this morning i could tell she really wanted to do it. She really wanted to roll over! Very very soon. I got a new portrait lens for Christmas and have really only been able to shoot Luna, which of course is fine by me! I've gotten some great shots!
Speaking of Christmas this was Luna's first (of course!) She loves going over to grandma & grandpa's house because everyone holds her, and there are things o look at. Like fish. Anyway, on Christmas she ended up sleeping most of the day, which was bad because she never sleeps during the day really and it made for a REALLY terrible night. So now, we keep her awake. She usually wants to fall asleep around 6 or 7, and she doesn't like being kept up. But it's got to be done. I know, I'm mean. :)
This isn't the greatest picture, but you can kind of see her Christmas outfit. This right before she had a major diaper. Had to change er tights. haha.

seven weeks

I am going to make a quick post and add more in a little bit, but I wanted to share this photo of Luna that I thought was hilarious. Last night I was doing something and I needed to put her down. I thought it would be funny to set her in a box that I am sending out. To my surprise Luna was able to hold herself up quite well. I was so excited that she was loving it that I grabbed my camera and snapped this shot, not thinking about the exposure. oops. I got some better shots after, but this was the only that she was obviously smiling.

Thursday, December 13, 2012

Luna is officially 6 weeks old. She is growing so quickly and turning into a little person with features and character. We love her so much, and she is such a good baby. We are truly blessed and so lucky. By the second day she was able to hold her head up by herself, we were astonished by this, and very proud. I guess that's what happens when you're 'overdue'.
Giving me the sweetest smile!
Taking a little nap.
After her very first bath!
She is always putting her hands by her face and under her chin like she knows she's adorable.
This one, even though its a little blurry, you can clearly see that Luna is watching tv with Steve. Hilarious.

A change of Direction

It has been requested by numerous friends and family that I post pictures of our new little baby girl, Luna. Steve and I have become more private in the way of social media and posting pictures of ourselves, or loved ones. This is no way to shut anyone out of our lives, we just don't think that everyone needs to be in our business. Besides, what did people do before the internet and facebook? they did it the old fashioned way with film, and letters, and phone calls. So, we'll see how this works out, and how long I can keep up with it. For those of you who don't know the pre-Luna story let me just be brief. One of the only things we wanted in the pregnancy was to be healthy, eat well, and of course, have a home birth. Lucky for us, it went pretty much exactly like planned. So much in fact that my running joke of Luna being born on Halloween stood true. My original due date was Oct 22nd, and I would tell everyone (as a joke) that I was holding her in until Halloween. Well apparently our darling Luna like the idea of coming on one of our favorite holidays, because at 41 weeks and 3 days she showed up, in the morning so we were able to enjoy the whole day with her. Oh, and I did get my home birth. I'm not going to lie. It hurt, and it hurt bad. But in the end it was amazing, and so incredibly worth it. Even to this day, 5 weeks later I still look at her and am blown away. I can't believe Steve and I made this beautiful, perfect baby girl. She is my favorite thing in the world. (Aside from Steve of course.) So without further stalling, here are some pictures I have taken, and I promise to TRY and get this updated frequently. I will try and find time, and I'm sure with a little 'harassment' from our friends and family I'll get better at it. ;) Enjoy.
