I guess it's time for a new post! I've been doing so good this month, or at least i feel like I am. Let's see here, to keep you updated... last week was pretty awesome. Not much happened until Saturday. We had our Super Saturday activity for Relief Society and we made these cute decorations for the different seasons.

Afterwards Chelsea and I went to Roberts to put our names in a drawing for some Christmas supplies, but unfortunately neither of us won. We then joined our husbands and watched the Georgia game and made hair clips. Sunday I made cupcakes for a girl at church and had some extras so Ashley and Jon and Reid and I got those, yummy... and then later that night I made a Grasshopper pie. Way good and easy (Oreo crumbs, mint chocolate chip ice cream and whipped cream) But the most awesomest thing of last week was that Abigail has started sleeping at least 6 hours a night. She has started to vary as to when she wants to go to bed, but it is somewhere between 9 and 12. Oh how I love my sleep!

Today she is 2 months, which means that I've been doing okay at keeping her alive! She is really starting to coo and talk to us. Last week, she sang with Reid during church! The only time she really fusses is when she is hungry or tired, or just wants to be held (she's my little cuddle buddy:) ) She smiles a lot too, but I can never get a really good picture of it. That's my mission this week is to get a good smiling picture from her.

This week is going to be awesome too! It started today. I deep cleaned my kitchen while Reid watched Abigail (thanks honey). I haven't seen it so clean since well before Abigail was born. Thursday I get to pick up Jayne at the airport (I'm not looking forward to driving to Salt Lake on my own) and Friday all three of us girls are going to see New Moon! I must say that is one expensive movie ticket for Jayne! Oh and In 'N Out opens tomorrow! What joy has come to my life! But that's it. I'll work on my pictures!

The Countdown -16 days

Can anything be more exciting!?!

The Winds of Change????

For what seems to be for ages, or at least the past month, Abigail likes to think that daytime is really nighttime and nighttime is really daytime. So as you can guess, she likes to stay up at night. Not just for an hour or two, but more like 5 to 6 hours straight. I've been reading this book "Healthy Sleep Habits, Healthy Child" and it says not to let infants be up for more than two hours. Now how are you supposed to put an awake child to bed? Seriously! Anyway last night may have been a break-through. We put her to bed at 10:30 and she woke up at midnight. (that was expected) She finished eating at about 1 am and seemed tired. I put her in her crib and of course she decided to wake up. I let her cry it out for 5 minutes, comforted her, tried feeding her some more, put her back to bed, and let her cry 10 more minutes. Finally I picked her back up and rocked her. She liked that and fell back to sleep. Instead of putting her back in her crib she slept in my arms. (it's not something that I want to have to happen every night, but oh how peaceful it is to have your little one sleeping in your arms) She slept from 2 am to 9 am with a little fussing/eating at 6 am when Reid had to get up for school, but she never fully woke up until 9. How splendid it is to have gotten some sleep! This isn't her last night but when she is sleeping she can sleep through anything... What a cutie!

Happy Halloween!
It's finally here which means that Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years is right abound the corner! Oh the holidays.
This year we celebrated the festivities by going to Lena and Scott's house the night before. We played the Wii and had lots of pumpkin food and popcorn balls (I haven't had a popcorn ball in years!). Way good food by the way you two!
Halloween day we got to sleep in a little (thank you Abigail). We went over to Doyle and Chelsea's house and carved our pumpkin. As the carving took place, the Georgia unfortunately lost to Florida, but we need not remind ourselves of that. The Port family joined us and boy are they one cute family; they all dressed up! Way to make all your costumes Mandi!
Abigail didn't go trick or treating, but she did get to take pictures with Olivia. Here are some of the pictures... (sorry they are backwards)

1 month 2 years

It still seems like yesterday that we came home from the hospital with Abigail; I can't believe it's been a whole month! Things are starting to settle down and getting a schedule with somethings, we haven't gotten her sleeping on a schedule yet though :( Other than the fact that she wakes up 2-3 times a night, she has been such a sweetie. We absolutely love having her!

As for us this past month, things have been pretty good. I love staying home with Abigail and wish it never has to end. I am afraid that when I go back to work, I am going to miss important things in her life, when she rolls over, when she first giggles, starts crawling...

Reid on the other hand, has been crazy busy with school! This past week he had 4 test and was gone a lot at school to study. We are still looking for a job for him. Reid interviewed at In 'n Out this morning, we'll know by Saturday if he is hired. Costco is also hiring this week and we hope to get an interview with them as well, cross your fingers for us!

Not only is Abigail 1 month, but tomorrow Reid and I will be celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary! Time has really flown, and it has definitely been a blast! 2 years and many many more to come!

APJ

Wow it's been a while... sorry guys. You just gotta love it when the Internet stops working and then you try to re-install the wireless driver and end up deleting the whole computer and having to restart. That's one thing that has happened to us since the addition to our little family. We have really enjoyed the past 3 weeks (I can't believe we've had Abigail for 3 weeks!) with all the help from friends and family, the visits from everyone, and of course just having our little sweetheart. For all those who were around during the first week or so, thanks for putting up with me. Based on what everyone says about labor and delivery, you think that part is going to be so hard. I thought it was great and wouldn't mind doing it again in a few years (that's probably because of the wonderful epidural I had). I never prepared or even imagined that the recovery would be as hard as it was for me.
It's only been three weeks and poor little Abigail has already been on a bunch of medications (okay just two). After about a week and a half, her right eye had a lot of gunk coming out of it and so she had to have ointment for that. She also has a yeast infection in her mouth called thrust that she has been taking medicine for. Hopefully the yeast infection will pass soon.
During the first week of Abagail's life we did some photo shoots with a couple of people (by the way, thank you Emily and Marie.. the pictures are just wonderful!) Other than that things have been going well. Still trying to figure out this parenting thing, but I don't think we'll ever get the hang of that. Reid is a great dad and always finds time to help out even though he has a very full and busy school schedule! He is so wonderful with Abby and I fall even more in love with Reid when he takes care of our little bundle of joy.

Abigail Paige Johnson

Introducing.....

Reid & Susie welcomed Abigail Paige Johnson into this world at 4:56pm on Wednesday, September 16th, 2009. Susie got to the hospital at 7am, ready to be induced therefore the labor only lasted about 10 hours. Everything went really smoothly and Susie makes it sound like a piece of cake! Reid was there through it all and even got to cut the umbilical cord. When Abigail first came out, she wasn't breathing, so the doctors took her away and quickly brought her back when everything was normal. The whole family is doing great and Abigail has to be the cutest newborn ever! I have never seen Reid & Susie so happy. They will be great parents. Congratulations Reid & Susie! We are so happy for you guys!

Is she here yet?

So I think we have everything ready for Abigail to come and I've been meaning to blog but lets just face it, life happens.

I really wanted to put some pictures up of the crib and hopefully soon I can put some pictures of the crib up with someone in it.


I think the set is really cute, pretty much I just picked out what I would want to sleep with. I don't know how long it will last but I'm thinking if we have a boy next, he can use it too. But that's about it.
I need to take a picture of the 40 week mark, but here's last week (39 weeks)

So I know I'm lame and I don't even have any cool excuses as to why I haven't blogged.
Reid and I are getting really excited for the baby to come, which by the way we have a name for... Abigail Paige.

Tim's Out Here!

One semester over and a new one to begin...
Tim graduated on Thursday and on Friday almost the whole family came up to drop him off. I don't know if you read this Sarah, but I missed you.
Reid flew out Thursday morning to attend Tim's graduation, unfortunately I couldn't get off work to come. It was the first time Reid and I have been apart since we were married and of course being pregnant and emotional I cried when I went to bed. The family (mom, dad, Ashley, Jeff, Reid, Tim, Kristen, Salem, Cole, Emma, and Averlyn) left California about noon and got to Orem at one in the morning Saturday. What a long drive! They are so amazing to make that long trip!
The rest of Saturday was kind of a long blur. We went shopping for last minute things for Tim, got Tim checked into his dorm room, had lunch at the mall, went back to the BYU bookstore, went back home or shopping (again) before the family BBQ, ate lots and with good company and went back home late. It was exhausting but fun. The worst part was that everyone (except Tim) had to leave today :( A very short but wonderful trip...

What's up June?

I was doing pretty good at blogging last month and so far nothing this month... yet.
Well, last week I was sick with a sinus infection that hit pretty hard. I felt bad missing work and making Reid take care of me right before finals, but thank goodness for medicine and that I am all better. This week is Reid's finals, and then he will be a senior based on his credits, but because of his major, he still needs more. Thursday this week he plans on leaving me (just for one night) and going home to see Tim's graduation! Then he'll drive back with his family and we can get Tim settled in for school next Monday! I can't wait for the family to come out even if it is just for a short time.
Things are starting to get a little bit bigger around here (meaning my belly). Ashley's due date got pushed up to the 10th of September, but so far I'm still scheduled for the 9th. It's a race Ashley! :)
I'll try to keep things updated, I can't blame anything on being sick anymore. Well here's a picture at 27 weeks

Victory

Sorry I don't have any pictures to share; Wednesday was a crazy day! As always Reid had school and I have work, but yesterday Reid picked me up and we went to the Provo temple for ward temple night (really early though) and after that Reid had his final game of softball before playoffs next week. I forgot to pack the camera for the game, hopefully I'll be able to get a team picture up here soon. It was pretty fun.. our friend Jon came with and made feel a lot less ridiculous not cheering for Reid. He did it all, with a little help from me. (I get really self-conscious that I wont be heard or that I'll be too loud and look dumb so I normally don't cheer at all) Anyway the other team was up first and "Mark's Team" (that's the name of Reid's team) didn't let them score in the first inning. Reid was the third batter up the first time and in that inning they brought 5 home! The rest of the game was pretty close after that. Towards the end I thought we were done for. In the bottom of the last inning ("Mark's Team" was at bat) the pitcher for the other team kept walking everybody! We caught up and with bases loaded we broke the tie and we won! Our first real win of the season! Reid had an awesome catch in left-center diving and then holding up the ball to prove he caught it! I don't think I've ever been so impressed by him. He got scrapped up a bit (i'll get a picture later) sliding in to 3rd base and home. It was awesome... their team did great!

Softball

This spring and summer Reid is on an inter-mural softball team for BYU. He did it last year and decided with his school schedule, that this would be his outlet this summer. The season is pretty short, only four games and then playoffs (which we don't know when that actually starts), but then there is another season right after. I've been to all of the practices they've had and the games Reid could go to and will probably go to all the rest. This past game I brought the camera and got a few good pictures, if his team could only get a few good runs...

Okay, I had a few more pictures, but I cant seem to get them to post upside-right. Hopefully I can figure it out and add them later.

BABY GIRL

I'm supposed to be studying for a final but I had to put this up.

Can I call it sickness?

Let's just face it... I know I have REALLY been sucking at blogging. But on the bright side two weekends ago Reid and I did a lot of cleaning, last weekend we went to the Draper Temple Open House and back in January I found out we were pregnant!
Okay that's a really bad picture, but it says I'm pregnant. On the 10th of February I heard the heartbeat for the first time and then on March 11th, Reid and I both heard the heartbeat.
Yesterday morning (St. Patrick's Day) I felt the baby kick and had Reid's hand on my stomach all night so that he could feel it too, but no luck. Today is 15 weeks and unfortunately I still get sick, but Reid is such a sweetheart and takes care of me, his school, and work. What a guy! So that's why I haven't been writing, I felt like crap a lot. But it's getting better so hopefully I can keep everyone informed.

Winter 2009

Well last time I wrote was the most stressful week of Fall 2008. Things are going much better though. First I guess I should explain the picture. Yes ladies and gentlemen that is a Canon Rebel XS. Susie got it for her birthday. I would have used it to take a picture of it but that's a lot harder to do than you'd think. So we've pretty much only taken pictures of our cat. WAY too many. Above is B's tiger face.

Anyways This semester I'm taking 18 credits and so far handling it. I'm taking a piano class so I'm forced to learn the piano. Playing Christmas carols at my friend Jon's house inspired me to learn the piano well so I can play Christmas carols with my family.

Next I'm taking quantitative chemistry class which I'm actually enjoying because its a lot of math which I love. I'm also taking a Physics class that focuses mostly on kinetics. I like that part of physics but the part I love the most wont come till the next physics class I take which will discusses magnetism. THAT'S AWESOME!

Next up is a Doctrine and Covenants class, a Church History class (very interesting), and an American History/Government class. That class is sweet but a lot of reading. He let us choose how to reach expected learning outcomes and didn't want us to say a word about quizzes or tests. I totally agree. Testing is just a poor sampling exercise that doesn't reflect well what one has learned.

Anyways, I'm taking an easy physics lab and doing some sweet research down on a dairy farm. We are looking for genetic markers in double ovulating cows to determine how to breed cows that don't double ovulate. SWEET. Yeah I got to put my arm in a cows rearend. I pretty much loved it. I didnt really know what I was feeling for but it was still cool.

Last but not least my EMT class is sweet. I volunteer at least 8 hours a week as an EMT. Absolutely love it. Well you might not hear from me again for a while. Wish me luck. I feel like I'm going 100 miles per hour. Its a rush but if I make one wrong move, in this case get a little behind, I'll crash and burn playing catch up for the rest of the semester.

2009

It's a new year, so that means time for a new post (sorry I'm 4 days late!)
When Reid and I were home for Christmas, I remember thinking in bed that I still couldn't believe we had been married for over a year. We've spent a full calendar year with each other plus some, and what a year it has been. From trips to weddings, birth of a new niece, school, school, moving in with my sister, school work, some more school, our own wedding anniversary, holidays and more school and work, I can not say that I didn't love every minute of it. I am excited for this year, for the strengthening of friendships, yes more school, work, hopefully more trips (I don't know who else could be getting married soon though) and everything that life decides to throw at us. Bring it on!
