...where the buffalo roam...

Well, we replaced Sandy's totalled Acura Cl with none other than her mother's Acura Cl. Those ladies are so similar it's scary.

I flew in to K.C. to pick it up and road tripped the southern states with my brother to bring it back to San Diego. We had quite an adventure in our 2,000 mile-2 and a half day trip.


We encountered the great flats of Kansas (who says there's no climbing in Ks?):



We encountered open range buffalo and mountains (who knew?) across Oklahoma:

All in all it was a great trip, although I think we will try a different route next time if the snow allows for it. I still haven't been to Moab, which I was hoping to hit up this time.

Embarrassing request...

So a couple of months ago my older brother Jeremy calls me up. "Hey man, I just entered us in to a Zest soap competition. They are making a calendar of the most adventurous men in the country." This line was followed by much laughter from both of us. He went on to tell me that the winners get a $15,000 trip for 4 to anywhere in the world. "I don't care how cheesy it is, I want that trip!! I figured by entering both of us, we double our chances and will share the reward." He continued with laughable talk as he read me the biographies he had written up for us, which we both decided might just be ridiculous enough to work...


Well, we're in the finals...


The top 24 are selected and now open voting on the web will decide the final 12. Those 12 will be put in the calendar and then one will be awarded the trip.
He and I both had a good laugh today on the phone as we discussed how embarrassing it will be to ask people to vote for us and how much more embarrassing it will be if we make it in the calendar. Then we agreed that a free trip for us and our spouses anywhere in the world was worth the mockings that may haunt us for the rest of our lives as we may become "Mr. November".

(Nothing like a little dirty politics to sway the system... unless everybody has that idea...hmm...)
