It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Today was such a fun day! First, we went to church. The Sunday before Christmas is probably my favorite Sunday of the whole year.......that and the primary program! Sacrament meeting was a wonderful medley of songs, talks and musical talent that reminded us about the true meaning of Christmas.

Next, we came home, ate lunch and took naps....the whole house!

We are so excited that we are finally getting snow. We have been waiting for the "storm" the weatherman has been predicting. Well, today he got it right!!! Yea for snow!!!

Ward Christmas Party

Last night was our ward Christmas party. The girls made it difficult to really enjoy the night but, it was nice to get out of the house. We had dinner, a musical program put on by members of the ward, and Santa came to visit. Elley was excited for Santa to be there. Earlier in the week, Adam and I took her to the mall to see Santa. She liked him from far away but didn't like getting to close, so , I was surprised that she was excited to see Santa last night. I would tell her that Santa was going to be there and she would say, "ho ho ho! lap, lap." Meaning she was going to sit on his lap. Well, here are a few pictures of that night including the Santa experience.

Molly Overload

Here are some recent pictures of Molly. She has been such a good baby. The only time she really cries is if she wants to eat. She sleeps so well, only waking up once a night to eat. Molly is getting big too, wearing clothes her sister wore at 3-6 months. She a tough little thing, which is a good thing with a sister like Elley around. Elley is now VERY helpful and wants to hold Molly all the time. I have to be really careful when I leave the room or turn my back for even a second, as soon as the baby is left unattended Elley is right there ready to hold her. I'm glad now that Elley is showing interest in her sister.

It's Always Fun When Grandpa Comes!

It been so nice having my dad come and stay with us while learning to adjust to two kids. I don't know what I would of done without him. He has been so helpful with both girls. He loves to hold Molly and is so patient with Elley. As you can tell from the picture below, Elley loves her Grandpa. The first thing Elley says in the morning is Grandpa. She'll stand up in her crib and yell "bampa" until he comes to get her. They have this special routine after that. They take Annie (my dad's dog) outside to go to the bathroom, eat breakfast, and then watch cartoons until Mommy and Molly get their lazy bums out of bed.

The other day Elley, Grandpa and I were at the dinner table when my dad gave Elley a cracker. Elley, without any help or reminding said,"thank you bampa!" We made such a big deal about it because it was the first time she put a sentence together like that. Now every time she says thank you she adds the bampa. Today at the store, the clerk handed her the receipt. She took it and said, "thank you bampa."



Elley has this thing for shoes. She always wants to put her shoes on. It's the first thing she asks for after a bath and diaper. It's pretty funny seeing her with only a diaper and shoes.....especially when she wants to wear her boots.
She also likes to put other peoples shoes on. If you come to our house leaving your shoes by the door might not be such a good idea. If she doesn't put them on and wear them around the house, she will bring them to you.

Adam's Family

We were so lucky to have Grandma Pat, Grandpa Dan and Uncle Andrew in town the weekend we blessed Molly. After the blessing, Adam's side of the family came over for a little "get together." We had so much fun eating and playing games that they stayed all day. We love living so close to our family members.

Molly's Blessing

We had Molly's blessing Thanksgiving weekend when most of both our families were in town. It is amazing how little babies change our lives and really makes us realize what's important. How thankful I am for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and how it blesses my family. I'm thankful that Adam could give his daughter a name and a blessing from her Heavenly Father. What a special day this was, thank you to all who came, especially those who drove for hours to spend this special weekend with us!!!

Thanksgiving

This year we had Thanksgiving at my brother Mark's house. We almost had the whole family in town, but my brother Shaune and his family couldn't make it .....maybe next year? We had a lot of fun, at least I did. Although, at times it was a bit overwhelming for me with a very active toddler and a brand new baby, all in all it was a great weekend.

Hopefully Mark and Jordan feel the same way.....although, at times it was a bit overwhelming with a backed up sewer system and a house full of sick kids, all in all it was a fun weekend. Thanks guys for hosting it at your house!!!

A Few Pictures of Molly

Molly has been a pretty good baby so far. She is a great sleeper, even at night and I think has a pretty good temperament. She spends most of her days in the arms of her Grandpa who's favorite thing to do is hold her all wrapped up in a warm fuzzy blanket. I don't know what I would have done if my dad couldn't be here. Elley is pretty demanding so having him around is a good distraction for both her and I. Day by day Elley is getting better about sharing me with another baby. Her new favorite word is 'mama" and she says it all day long. Even when she doesn't want me she's still saying "mama." It might just be her way of coping with the fact that Molly isn't going away. We are all having fun with our new little baby!

A few nights ago Jay, Adam's brother, came over with his kids. While we were playing cards the kids were watching a movie. I thought it was so cute that Elley had found the Boppy and was using it as a pillow. Doesn't she look comfortable?

So, I quickly realized that long hair for me was not realistic now having 2 kids to take care of....besides, I think my hair was getting a bit to long!

Kerilynn and Briley's visit

My sister came up for a visit last week to see the new baby. She also brought her daughter Briley. About a month ago Briley broke her leg. The day before they came the cast was removed and this walking boot was put on. Briley was having a hard time putting weight on this leg because it was still a little tender from being in the cast. She would crawl around to get from place to place. Often times Elley would join in crawling right behind her. Then Elley thought of a better plan.....just ride Briley like a horse.

2 weeks old

I just wanted to post some pictures of Little Miss Molly. I can't believe it's been 2 weeks already. We are all doing great and love the new little addition to our family. At first, Elley had a hard time adjusting but now she is doing great. As you can see she now wants to hold Molly, which at first she didn't want to do. Every time I would ask if she wanted to hold the baby she would say "noooooo, Mommy!"

This is our attempt at a family picture. After this traumatic picture I didn't want to try again. I think Elley was a bit overwhelmed and just wanted to play with everything in the room.

Little Miss Molly


On Monday the 3rd, I had a doctor appointment.....my last appointment! At that appointment we decided to induce labor the very next day. I was a little nervous at the thought of being induced because of the long and traumatic labor with Elley. But the thought of being pregnant possibility 2 weeks longer was enough to say "let's do it." At 6 am Nov 4th we headed to the hospital for the induction. By 6:30am I was all hooked up and by 7am pitocin had been started. My contractions were really intense by 8:45am and I got my epidural at 9:45am. At that point I had dilated 5 cm and was about 80-90%. I was so tired that I slept for awhile. The epidural was GREAT....just the right amount! At 11:15am I was feeling a lot of pressure so I called the nurse into check. She checked me, I was fully dilated and ready to push. She said the head was still a little ways up so it would take a little work to get the baby out. I pushed for about an hour and out she came at 12:45pm.

We are all doing well except the fact that we are tired!! Elley likes her new sister and is very helpful. I think as time goes by she will like her more.....right now she's not very playful.

Hopefully, I will post more pictures in a few days....we'll see, 2 kids and keeping up on blogging might be hard!
