| Jensen Painting Salt Picture We had fun making salt paintings. Jensen and I looked on Pintrest and made a list of things that we thought looked like fun. We decided to do salt paintings first. It wasn't hard, but messy and takes time, but the boys are off track so we have plenty of time! First you draw a picture with white Elmer's glue (the boys drew with pencil first). Then while the glue is still wet cover it with salt. Gently shake off the excess salt, over a piece of wax paper works best, that way you can use the excess salt on the next picture. Now wait for the paintings to dry completely. We let ours dry overnight. Then use water colors (the watery the better) and watch the colors spread through the salt crystals. We also decided to paint in between the salt lines. --Don't plan on keeping these paintings forever, the salt falls off a little at a time. |

Too bad I went and cut my hair a couple months after we took these pictures, so now I look a lot different. Oh well, my smile is still the same :)
Major Changes!!
Wow! Our live has certainly had some major changes since Christmas. Here's the top ten:
1. Moved to Riverton, Utah
2. Kaleb passed the Mortgage Loan Officer tests
3. We are living in a house with 9 other people...so 13 people in one home!
4. Maxwell and Jensen played in their last Logan Orchestra concert.
5. Kaleb had his gall bladder taken out.
6. Maxwell and Jensen ran in the Logan Fun Run
7. Kaleb quit working at USU
8. Alicia got a new phone with internet and navigation (super helpful!)
9. Alicia had a colonoscopy
10. Our adoption file was approved, so we can adopt as soon as a birth mother chooses us

Easter Egg Door Hanger
I totally love how my Easter Egg Door Hanger turned out. It was one of those projects that you have an idea in your head and you hope it will turn out at least as cute as you are picturing it will. In the end it turned out even cuter than I had hoped!! Only issue is that since it is made on cardboard it keeps flipping over in the breeze. I'll have to see if my hubby can help me figure out a way to solve that.
So here's what I did:
Cut out a cardboard egg shape to the size I wanted. Then I covered the front of the egg in some cream handmade paper. In the end this didn't show much, but I didn't want any of the brown cardboard showing. Next I went to my large collection of scraps of scrapbook paper. I attached them with scrapbooking tape. Then I covered it in three coats of ModPodge. When it was completely dry I hot clued buttons in rows in between the scrapbook paper strips. I have tons of buttons in lots of colors, so I barely made a dent in my button jar. Then I punched holes and attached a wire for hanging and tied a jute bow on top.

Button necklace onesie
So I was at a baby shower where we each got to decorate a onesie as a gift to the baby. There was a jar full of super cute buttons and I had this idea to make it look like a necklace. I used a thick embroidery thread in hot pink. First, choose the buttons you want to use. Cut a piece of thread two and a half the length of the necklace you want. Now thread each button on the thread going through two of the holes. Space the buttons out to desired spacing. Start at one end sew each button on. Make the thread show on the front in between each button. This way you only have small stitches on the inside of the shirt. Work your way across and then tie off your thread at the end.

Cinnamon twists
I used my easy bread stick recipe. I rolled it out and spread cinnamon, brown sugar, white chocolate, and cinnamon chips all over it. Then I folded it in half and cut strips with my pizza cutter. Then I twisted each strip and place on cookie sheet to bake according to the bread stick recipe. When they had cooled I make a thinner cream cheese frosting and spread on each one. Delicious! And easy to make in under an hour. (Not quite as good as the old fashioned cinnamon rolls my mom used to make that take a lot longer, but still yummy!)

Pecan toffee waffles
Regular homemade waffle...then I topped it with chopped pecans, toffee chips, homemade syrup, and cool whip. Delicious!!
