Since Wayne refuses to take time off (oh the joys of owning a new practice) we only got a weekend away for spring break. We headed to Lava Hotsprings in eastern Idaho. It's a tiny town with one street. We stayed at a little hotel that looked like it was straight out of a horror movie. Once in the rooms we were pleasantly surprised. We swam at their super fun indoor facility, had yummy pizza and yummier ice cream. And it all happened on the same street! I even crammed in an 8 1/2 mile run on a small highway in the middle of nowhere and it was so gorgeous I could have ran all day! That night we hit up the mineral hot pools which would have been way more fun without kids. I would have preferred to just sit and soak with Wayne. Instead I simultaneously held Tate and Gages' injured toe out of the water the whole time.
Then next morning we drove to Rexburg to go to church with Heidi and her new hubby Randy. Wayne even ran into his old roommate! (weird that he left over 11 years ago but some people are STILL there) I digress. Wayne of course wanted to walk around the campus to see how much it changed and boy did it. I have never felt so old walking around with 5 kids in tow. I definitely can't pass as a college student anymore! Randy was a great tour guide. My favorite part..."and there is where I laid face first down in the grass after I got a D on a test" I must point out that was a long time ago and he has gotten straight A's since then. We had almost made it back to the car when I see Gage chasing Gavin up ahead. Suddenly he stopped. Faced me, pulled down his pants and started to bend over before I yelled.."Gage Jacob PULL UP YOUR PANTS!" Oh the joys of having rambunctious boys.

The baby whisperer...
That's what I call Gavin. When Tate is fussing for everyone else, Gavin can hold him and he calms right down. He can even get him to sleep which is a lifesaver when you are trying to get the other little blos lunch and down for naps. I know I can count on Gavin to help out. He is growing up way too fast. I can't believe he is 6! Where did the time go. I wan't planning on letting him have a friend party, but since we moved to a new ward he actually has some really good friends so I thought it would be fun to throw a birthday bash. Unfortunately I can't take credit for the amazing cupcakes. Lot's of fun was had and you never know true craziness until you have 8 6 yr old boys running around your entire house.

Start 'em young, raise 'em right....
This is how BYU fans are made. Gavin attended his first BYU football game last fall and Tate has already been to his first basketball game. I hope my kids' love for BYU will push them to get excellent grades so that some day they can all go to school there because let's face it, school is expensive and I have 5 kids. Not only is BYU a great school academically but it's cheap too. In fact the other day we got a letter in the mail from the Nutritional Science department (Wayne's degree) asking us to donate money. We don't have a lot of money to spare but I said to Wayne we should start donating a little when we get these letters because hey, it might help getting them in later! He rolled his eyes but you never know!
Here are Wayne and Tatertot watching a BYU basketball game. After the first two shots I said, Wayne, you have got to OPEN YOU EYES during pictures! He tents to get squinty;) Tate unfortunately does not appreciate the cougars yet and was more interested in me, which is also ok.

Baby Mine.....
I have talented sister in laws. Remember how Jessica decorated Wayne's office? Well Rebecca is a super talented photographer. She came over when Tate was a week old to do a photo shoot right in my living room. How convenient! Of course they all turned out amazing and I wish she had been around to do the first 3 kids! Thanks Rebecca. If looking at these doesn't make you baby hungry nothing will.

Wax on....Wax off....
Well friends, it's been awhile, so I decided to come back with a bang! Sometime during the Christmas break some of the Fam came over for game night. I had gotten out the wax to do Erika's eyebrows. Riley walked past and asked what the pot was for. (I think he thought it was edible) I told him and some how he and Wayne decided to have some fun. I must state officially that the GIRLS had NOTHING to do with this and they WERE NOT coerced. For real. I think the pictures can tell the rest of the story. Yes, Wayne had tears in his eyes at the end........

End of Year stuff - Liv
Liv finished out the year with a hilarious singing program at school, which I showed up at the wrong time for. Luckily they had another show later that day. She sang loud and proud and new all the actions. Her last soccer game was played against a team who hadn’t lost in 3 years and usually beat their opponents by 6-8 goals. Well we scored first and only lost by 2. It was a great game and Liv had a ton of stops as goalie. Look out 2nd grade. Here she comes!!!
It was so hot that day she didn’t really care what dad had to say. She wanted water!

Ode to the Dad...
Wayne of course is the best dad ever! According to the kids cards they made at church today he is the best at soccer, (Gavin) and fixing teeth and growing grass (Liv, our new houses’ yard was in desperate need of help). He is the all american dad. He bbq’s, plays outside with the kids, takes us camping and works like a horse. He is such a hands on dad and I love him for it! Happy father’s day daddy-o, I sure love you!!!

Here he is on the day he became a dad...
