Fun with Family
After all our Christmas celebrations we had a fun time with Charley's parents being here and with our cousins. We went bowling with Meme and Pops and then went to the American Girl Store with Aunt Jennifer and Kayden and Meme. Kayden was getting her first doll and my girls wanted to come along. They love that store. We had a great time looking around and my girls were able to add to their long wish list, yea!!! They also loved bowling with meme and pops. Love our family time!
Christmas with Charley's Family
We had a wonderful Christmas celebration with Charley's family. Charley's parents came to town and we went to Bobby and Jennifer's for our family celebration. We had a blast. We ate a yummy steak dinner and then opened presents. Each year the kids get Hallmark ornaments from meme and pops and they love it. This year Kylee got a ballerina and Katie got Rapunzel. We also always take pictures and get them for Charley's parents each year. Usually it is just the kids but we surprised them and all got in the pic. Charley and Bobby also took a picture together just the two of them. They did not love this but Jennifer and I thought it was hilarious so we bought one for Charley's parent and they loved it:) Then after gift time their was a huge nerf gun war and it was hilarious and fun. We played guesstures after that and loved it. This night was tons of fun!!
Christmas with My Family
After our celebration at our house Christmas morning, we headed over to my parents for a fun day with them and my sister's family. The girls loved everything about this day. We had a yummy big meal and then opened presents. Ethan had a big nerf gun war with Charley and Brian, Ella loved her gifts and could open them all by herself, Katie got a ton of Little Pet Shop stuff and loved it all, and Kylee was shocked to get a DS (that she had begged for). My parents got pictures from us with all the kids. This is their usual gift from us. We played Yahtzee and dolls. Tammy's Family left in the afternoon and we stayed until that evening. Charley and Katie took a long nap on the couch while the rest of us watched movies. We ate leftovers from our yummy Christmas meal for dinner and then went home. I need to add that every year around early November my dad begins to work on his village around the Christmas tree. He spends tons of time setting up the trains and little house and the details are amazing. My girls, esp. Katie, love it. Everytime we went to their house she would jump for joy at the new stuff that had been done. So thankful he does this and the joy it brings to my kiddos.
Christmas Day
Every other year we wake up in our own home with just the 4 of us to celebrate Christmas morning. This was our year to do that. The girls woke up early, of course, and were ready to open up the gifts. They were very happy and received lots of gifts from Santa, maybe too many!! None the less, the happiness in their eyes was worth a million dollars. This year they got many things to go with their American Girl Dolls which was great-bed, clothes, puppies. Then a game for each and the hot item of the year-Squinkies! Katie was also thrilled to get a clock for her room. Charley and I loved every minute of it! They wanted to open everything up right away and we quickly remember how it takes FOREVER to open packages. While we opened everything up, I put sausage balls and cinnamon rolls in the over, Christmas morning tradition. We spent the morning playing and then had to hurry and get ready to go to my parents house.
