New Beginnings = New Multiplication Pack... I'm Back!

Hello, friends! No, I have not fallen off the face of the earth. :) Life has been full of new things since I accepted my new job back in August... Let me just run through it a bit:

New home...

          New state...

                  New church...

                              New job...

New... new... new...

Wowzers!! These past few months have left my world reeling and my mind spinning. Not long after I got my new job as a third grade teacher, my husband and I felt the need to move closer as we lived an hour and a half away. We began to look around and God started opening doors for us. We found a new church (first priority), then found a home (cutest evah!). We next began the transition of resigning from pastoral ministry and have been praying about where my hubby will land. As of right now, we are operating on one income and praying for provision. Unfortunately, I have not had internet service throughout much of this transition so blogging has been relegated to the corner.

"But nobody puts Baby in the corner!" (You knew that was coming.) :)

So, I am excited to be back and I have begun to create new resources that I am using in my own third grade classroom. I am proud to introduce my first multiplication pack that has been exciting to use for my class. I needed a multiplication system to implement in my room that would display the students' progress, provide quizzes and a way to support students as they study. My team decided to use bookmarks for students to study. They keep the bookmark in their AR book on the corner of their desk so they always have two options when they have finished an activity early. Students take quizzes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If they pass, they receive a new bookmark to study. They can also progress along a bulletin board. I have included a bulletin board set for you to use in each pack.

New Five In a Row Game for Math Centers!

Hello, friends! I am so excited to share with you a new Math game that I have created for you to use in your Math Centers or homeschool classroom! The purpose of this game is to utilize a hundreds chart to practice number recognition. addition skills, and subtraction skills. It can be used with 2-4 players or for an independent learner who needs extra practice.  Here is how you play:

Each child needs their own hundred chart and markers such as dots or cheerios. (To make the game more exciting, use only one hundreds chart for all players to use!) Another option is to laminate each student’s chart so they can mark out their number with a wipe off marker and simply clean it off when the game is completed.  Next, cut out the math cards to place in two stacks. On one deck is numbers. For a simple number recognition game, only use this set. To increase difficulty, use the other set of cards as well which will give a mathematic operation to use with the first card the student has drawn. For example, the number card may say 35 and the operation card says to add 2. So the answer the student should cover is 37. The students take turns drawing numbers and operation cards and covering their hundred chart. When the cards run out, simply mix them and create two stacks once again. The student who gets five numbers in a row will win!

New February Resources!

Hello, friends! I have been working on a few new packs and they are hot off the press! :) I am so excited about them but I think I say that about everything. LOL I truly never get tired of creating resources and there is a never ending supply of ideas.

This pack deals with numbers 1-20, counting, writing, addition, comparison, decomposing numbers, and making 10! Each activity is common core aligned for those that require it but it would be great for a homeschool or classroom. There is a puzzle game, two centers, and 23 printables with a fun candy shop theme! Math Journaling is an amazing concept to me! It gives the students opportunities to "personalize" math concepts and show comprehension in a manner besides a basic recall assessment.
