Monthly Update

I swear we really aren't even that busy.  Life just gets away from you sometimes...Here are some tidbits.

In the last month Reid started walking and sporting some killer fangs.  One of his front center teeth is finally making it's way through so he won't look so much like Edward and Bella's baby.

In other news, I started coaching a 10 and under softball team.  They were desperate and I couldn't say no.  My experience with softball ended in 8th grade so it's been a real learning curve.  I'm getting there...

Eric is going to build a small retaining wall out back and we'll get a fresh load of crushed rock on the patio.  If finances work out we'll have a brand new patio next summer :)  He's also been kind enough to undertake a pallet-turned-herb-garden project for me.

My dad came and stayed with the boys for a couple days while I was away at the Wisconsin Math Conference.  I'm not sure who had more fun.  He also had a delicious supper waiting for me when I got home on Friday.  Retirement sure looks good on him ;)

And here's my monthly Reid picture update and a couple of Reilly enjoying the great outdoors.

10 Months

10 months and always full of smiles!  Reid is such a sweet addition to our family.
The picture below pretty much sums up my life.  Two kids that are attached to my legs.  Reilly is the noisy, attention-seeking one and Reid is the quiet observer in the background.  Love them both!

First Teeth

Reid is a pretty awesome baby - have I mentioned that before??  He just cranked out three teeth in a week like it was nobody's business.  His first two bottom teeth came the same day (Monday), and his upper right eye tooth came in on Friday.  He is all smiles.  All the time.  I love it :)

Silence

Silence is something of a rarity around here.  Eric has been doing some electrical work for my parents' basement remodel so today he brought Reilly with so he could spend the day with Grandma.  I have a baby shower to attend so I'm going to head to that with Reid and then we'll go to Eau Claire later.  Reid is napping.  The dog is gone.  I have complete and utter silence.  It is AMAZING!  I can't remember the last time I've been in my home when I could actually finish a complete thought let alone lesson plan and do housework.  A girl could get used to this!!

Reid is officially nine months old.  He is one sweet little package.  Still toothless and happy :)

Fun With the iPad

Reilly seems to really enjoy playing around on our new iPad. He can maneuver it better than his dad!

Can you tell he likes tractors?

This picture creeps me out.

My lil' buddy.

Resolutions

I know I'll fail at times, but here's what I hope for:

1) Only check Facebook 3 times a day (morning, lunch, before bed)
2) Spend more quality time with my family.  Adhering to #1 will be a start to this, but I need to make an effort.
3) Have a date night once a month.  Already have a "date" planned for Friday night.  Eric and I are going to the G-E-T/Onalaska basketball game.
4) Prepare better lunches for Reilly when I'm home.  He's a Schroeder and has no problem with cereal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, but that doesn't mean it's okay.  I need groceries...
5) Learn what's going on in the world.  We don't get the paper and rarely watch the news.  I know plenty of celebrity gossip and hardly any of the important news.

7 months

Can you tell how Reid's feeling?!  Poor thing.  He's had a fever, runny nose, terrible cough, and I think teething?! (though I've thought that for about 4 months...)  It's been hard getting much done with the little man crawling after me sobbing and then crying as he pulls up on my leg wanting to be held.  Hopefully he's healthy soon!
