Birthday Party

The other day we went bowling to celebrate Ms. Kalie's 4th birthday. This was a first four several of them and it was a blast watching them. At first I was nervous not knowing exactly how she would react. This wonder quickly went away when she put on the shoes (which they actually had in her size), grabbed the five pound ball specially designed for little ones and went to her designated lane. She watched Kalie us the kid friendly helper so the ball will actually make it down the alley and then grabbed her ball out of the ball return and to her turn. At first she didn't know what was to be excited about. It wasn't until several frames later she realized it was fun when your pins actually fell down. Although she never got a strike or spare we did have a frame where she knocked 9 pins down. The other surprise was that even with the kid friendly tool and bumpers you can still get a gutter ball...or two...or three. Since the kids are clueless about not getting any pins we were able to cheer anyway.  Happy birthday Kalie Lynn.  Hope you had a blessed day!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my loving husband and baby girl's daddy.  We love you so much!

This year I had Kaylie participate with so many aspects in planning and preparing his day.  She helped pick out his presents, wrap them, and put her own little finishing touches to them.  She made him his very first paper weight and helped make him a special dessert. 

Kaylie concerned about daddy's scruffies.  She doesn't like it when he doesn't shave. 

Kaylie helping make daddy Oreo cookie balls.  They sounded good but ended up tasting like feet.  Thankfully it was the thought that counts...right?!?

She did a great job listening and following directions.  I was really proud of her. 

Of course you can't make something with Oreos without trying a few out first. 

Seriously...you would think something covered in Oreo goodness would taste delicious!

One of the presents we picked out for daddy was a Lego RV.  The two of them had a blast putting it together.  For awhile daddy didn't think he was actually going to get it back.

My daddy rocks paper weight.  It was super easy and she loved making it.  We topped it off with blue and green glitter glue.

The Oasis

I can not tell you how long it has been since we have been to The Oasis.  With it being a beautiful weekend we decided to brave the crowds and try to get in for dinner.  Since we were there last a good amount of this restaurant has burnt down and had to be rebuilt.  They definitely took advantage of this and built it a heck of a lot bigger and a heck of a lot better. 

Since we were going early we were able to sit immediately.  They are famous for their sunsets and we were there no where near this which also allowed us for a table right next to the fence overlooking the water.  As you can see by the picture below the view was breath taking. 

This was Kaylie and Eli's first time to experience Austin's beauty and I think they loved the view.  Pretty sure they could have done without the heat as seen by the redness in their cheeks but it was nothing some ice cream wasn't able to fix.  By the time we left we were incredibly fat, full, and very happy.

 

Our new careers

A few weeks ago we took a trip to Austin to see family.  Papa has a new home and we wanted to see it and spend some time with him.  He loves his great grand daughter and we wanted him to have some time watching her play. 

When we got there he treated Kaylie with a chocolate bunny and some chocolate chip cookies which are two things our little girl loves.  I know he was happy seeing her take a gigantic bite out of the cookie. 

After looking around his room we decided it needed a little bit of sprucing up so after we left him for the day we went shopping to decorate his room.  We brought over some of Kaylie's artwork as well as some pictures and frames to decorate.  We even sat with Papa as she painted him two stain glass window decorations.  After hanging stuff on the walls and putting out things to remind Papa of his family we were done and pretty pleased with our new decorating skills.  

We finished our visit with lunch and a tour of his beautiful home.  We love you Papa!!!
