Lions and Tigers and Bears ... Oh my

I got to go to Yellowstone for the first time in my LIFE this summer (back in June, a little delayed on the post I know). I didn't see any of the animals listed in the title of this post though. I didn't actually anticipate seeing lions and tigers, and was told my chances of seeing a bear were not good. This didn't stop me from holding out hope that the bears would perform for me on my very first Yellowstone outing. At the end of the day, zero bear sightings, but I didn't seem to mind.

I did get to see a lot of bison in Yellowstone. A lot. They were all over the roads, fields, and rivers. These large beasts were definitely the stars of the Yellowstone animal kingdom.

I also got to see hot pots. They are quite pretty and also smell ... lovely. :)

There were some beautiful mud pots to see too. So lovely, we took a picture in front of them.

And what kind of a trip to Yellowstone would it be if we didn't see Old Faithful?
Not a complete one I hear.

Even better?
A picture with the Old Faithful sign.

We ended the day in West Yellowstone watching the play Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in an old restored playmill.

Overall ... a successful first time trip to Yellowstone

Thank you Wynn family!

Brings me java. Brings me joy.

Flashback about five years ago. Picture my mother and I driving along listening to Saturday Night Show Tunes on KOZY 106.5. Yeah, you read it right. You may reread it if you'd like.

Anyways...

This hilarious song comes on. We've never heard it, but make sure our drive is longer than the song. Never has a show tune been so funny. And so you can all laugh your way into the long weekend [for those here in Utah at least] with this:

and because of the joys of YouTube. We have an answer to her love song.

side note: she says the name is Kristen and he says the name is Lindsay. Minor detail ... just overlook it.

Have a fabulous weekend.

But wait I have more ... Congratulations to Kelsey and Riley. I'm so excited for you both.

And now I'm done.

Cupcake Haven

So Kels, Loges, and I took a fabulous afternoon break and visited Sweet Tooth Fairy. Boy was it tasty. Just walking into the store gave me a high. Can't wait till the next time to try a new treat.

Us sitting outside in enjoying 78 degree weather, cupcakes, and ourselves. Did you notice that my head is about twice the size of Logan's? Lovely.

A cupcake toast!

Pass the Ice Cream

I was told about this blog and how I need to write in a few stories. Some of the stories in here are completely unbelievable but having been on many a bad date, I can actually believe them. So sad.

I'll let you know if I end up writing in some experiences. :)

The Sunday Night Yuckies

You know that wonderful weekend feeling you get on Friday? And then Sunday night rolls around and that yucky, dreadful, pit in the stomach feeling kicks in? Yeah... it's here. Maybe I'm just crazy and no one else gets it. I wish Monday didn't roll around so quickly.

But I had a lovely event filled weekend.

Friday -

Went to my friend, Whitney's art show. It's amazing! I highly recommend anyone in the BYU area to stop by the Harris Fine Arts Center and check it out.

Then after that checked out Ballet in Concert at BYU. It was West Side Story and Romeo and Juliet combined. Blows my mind how they can dance on wooden blocks in their shoes. I just don't understand it.

Saturday -

Slept in, so nice.

Loges, Kelsters, and I went to a delicious lunch at Olive Garden thanks to lovely gift cards from Carrie. Then off to listen to the mad skills of Vocal Point with tickets Loges gave us for Christmas-we've been waiting a long time for this show. Here's a favorite:

And even after all of that, made it to the last BYU basketball game. It was a fun weekend but it went by all too fast. And now Monday is ... here.

A story about a raisin and some chocolate

*The names in the following story have been abbreviated for semi-protection of the people involved. The pictures may or may not be models posing to help recreate the story.

One cold December Sunday, M, T, G, and W went to church. While sitting reverently in the pew, M found an uncovered chocolate of some sorts on the floor in front of them. Turning to G she says, "If you behave, you can have that treat." G not wanting to have M tell him when and what he can eat reaches down and grabs it. M thinking he's just being nice and cleaning the church doesn't say anything. A few seconds later M turns to ask G something and notices that he is chewing on something and has a speck of chocolate on his lip. Curious to find out what he's eating M asks, "Did you just eat that chocolate off the floor?" G nods yes and M turns back towards the pulpit with a look of disgust on her face. G, confused by the look leans over and says, "By that look I'm assuming that the chocolate was not yours AND you don't have anymore." M too shocked to say anything just shakes her head no. G then says, "Well I hope that was a chocolate raisin like I thought."

M trying to be a nice sister plans on not telling anyone (with the exception of T) this story. G thinking he will, yet again, beat M to it brings the story up. G often brings things upon himself like this. Later that evening, M again trying to be nice, notices that Mom has some chocolate covered raisins in the cupboard and thinking that G would like a treat grabs them. M remembering that G prefers to now eat things from off the ground rather than from a package, begins a path of chocolate covered raisins from G's room to the family room. Just minutes later, everyone can hear a frantic rustling sound. G emerges from the hall on his hands and knees gathering every last one of the chocolate covered raisins.

The treat

The search

The glory

I've been waiting for this story from another source for quite some time but since it hasn't been posted yet I took matters into my own hand. Grant this is how you remember it, right?

Oh, oops ....

Harry Potter Freak Flag

Here is the trailer for the 6th installment of the insanely good Harry Potter series. I can't get it to work with the embedding thing so ... all you get is a link. It's definitely worth going and watching.

This is what my response was after watching it:
Holy smokes I can't WAIT for this movie. It looks amazing. Why must I wait till July?

I want to be her -

p.s. Teresa comes tomorrow!

Sunday, November 2, 2008

p.s. I changed my hair color.

What do you do with an empty box from Costco? Logan came up with the idea of trying to see who fit in the box. She obviously fit in it the best.

What are two girls suppose to do?

On a Friday night with no engagements to occupy the evening ... why of course, build a fort.

Things you'll need:
3 sheets
2 blankets
2 lamps
Push pins
Straight pins
Packing tape
Ear rings

First put your mattresses in the living room. Connect sheets with a variety of objects (straight pins and ear rings). Attach the sheet to lamps with packing tape and books and then attach to wall with push pins. Refer to figures 1 and 2 below for examples. Put your "No Boys Allowed" Sign on the door of the fort, climb in, start the movie, and ENJOY!

For variety try different patterns of blankets and sheets. The ear rings are a great way of adding a little sparkle and fun to fort as well (when you run out of other pins you'll use just about anything).

I saw it.

I bought the 2 disc soundtrack immediately after seeing it.

I love it, I love it, I love it, and I don't care who knows it. Also if you know that movie quote...we must be friends.

I went here:

It was amazing. I went last year when I was in Phoenix and I thought it was awesome. So now that I've taken anatomy I can appreciate it even more. We have the most amazing bodies. Thanks so much for getting the tickets and taking me as your partner in crime, Loges!
