Now that I am nearing the end of this pregnancy there are a few things I wanted to remember about this experience. The first being that I have loved having Tim around to share it with this time. Getting to hug and kiss him with this belly in the way. Feeling him touch my belly in the middle of the night. Chuckling as he gets a back massage from the baby as I cuddle him. Showing him the weird things my belly does as a result of the baby.
Just as much as I have loved Tim being here, I have loved Evalyn’s reaction with my pregnancy. She constantly talks to the baby. Saying “Hi Baby!”, or sorry when she bumps the baby and loves to give the baby hugs and kisses. She gets excited when she is sitting by me and feels the baby push at her. Evalyn has also been so thoughtful of my condition. When something falls to the ground she will say, “I’ll get it cause it’s hard for you to bend over.” Or snuggle with me when I am worn out. I felt a bit alone during my last pregnancy so having both Tim and Evalyn here this time has been really special for me.
Now about this baby! Goodness, he/she is a mover! I remember Evalyn being active but I don’t recall her moving this much and with so much strength! I am often having to keep my hands on my belly because the baby will push out so far. Yesterday, I’m pretty sure the baby was dragging his/her knee into me as he/she rolled around. Yeah that one hurt! While I don’t get heartburn near as much as I did with Evalyn, this one likes to push on my bladder resulting in frequent bathroom visits.
With this pregnancy I have tried to keep up my exercising. I am still doing my work out videos although I have had to modify what I do. And I’m sure if you peeked in my window and saw me you would burst into laughter! It’s funny doing push ups and having my belly stop me from going down further. Evalyn once asked while I was exercising why I wasn’t jumping like the people on the video. I told her I had to be careful because I didn’t want to hurt the baby. Her response was, “Oh cause then the baby might start crying.” That made me chuckle!
I am now about 5 weeks away from my due date (June 1st) and can’t believe we are already so close. I felt like my pregnancy with Evalyn would never end but this one really has gone quick. I look forward to holding this little sweetheart and see my family adjust to having a new addition to our family. I’m really nervous for the first few months! Having a newborn again makes me anxious and this time I will have a 3 1/2 year old to go with it. But I am really excited to see how Evalyn reacts to the baby and the relationship that will grow between them! I sure am very blessed with a wonderful family and I’m so glad I get to be with them forever!
