A letter to Benj

Benjamin -

You are the greatest 6 year old I know!! I might be almost a month late in writing this post- but I decided not to let that stop me!! First off, I want you to know what an amazing kid you are!

Benj- you have such an excitement for life! You find joy and awe in even the smallest things! I have loved exploring different topics with you this year! You are curious, and love to know how the world around you works! We watch’s the Mars rover land, and your nervousness, followed by pure joy at the successful landing, was so wonderful to watch. You remind me why Christ asked us to become like little children!

Benj- you are so dang smart and hard working! I’ve been blessed this past year to homeschool you for Kindergarten! You have far surpassed K level, and seem to be on a 1st, if not 2nd grade level already! You soak in information! One of the best parts of this past year has been seeing and teaching you how to read. It brings me so much joy to see you choose a book to read and read. Words are so important, never stop reading!

Benj- you have my whole heart! I love you more than words can say, and I’m so grateful each day that you made me a momma! I love you! Please stop growing up now!!

Love,

Mommy

A letter to Dani

 Dani-girl May McGuire,

The name above is what you call yourself when someone asks what your full name is. I feel like it perfectly shows your attitude and personality. You are spunky and full of life, sassy and smart as a whip. There is nothing you don’t say these days, although sometimes mommy is the only one who can understand you. But I like it that way - we have an understanding between each other!!

Girlie- how are you possibly three years old!!! Where has the time gone. You were just my tiny little newborn, who slept well and made me fall in love every time I laid eyes on you. I still fall in love with you every time I see you. You are strong and brave, and I hope I can always encourage you to have a big personality and follow your dreams!!

Baby girl - you will never know how much you mean to me. You came to our family and healed us from so much fear. You  taught us to be better parents, you made us a stronger family. You are Benjamins best friend and Logan’s fiercest protector. Instead of a lullaby you always request the itsy bitsy spider before bed. You love to sleep with your beaver, Minnie, and bunny stuffed animals every night. You often cry at 2 in the morning when one of your stuffies fall out of bed. It’s exhausting, but I kind of love giving you those sleepy time hugs and getting you a ‘gink’ (drink).

Never grow up, never change. Please stay your sassy spunky self forever!! I love you forever!!

Love,

Momma

Logi-Bear

 My sweetest Logan James,

How has it possibly been an entire year since you entered my life? You have been our family’s light and joy in the strangest year of all time. Heavenly Father sent you to us at the exact perfect moment, and I know you will do amazing things in your life.

You were my first child that I felt prompted and pushed to get pregnant with. Dani was still a baby, not even one, when I started to feel a need to get pregnant. You are the first baby we’ve had that we didn’t spend months trying to get pregnant with. I got a positive pregnancy test that very first month! That’s when I knew you were special.

We thought we lost you at 13 weeks. I cried and mourned for an entire night, positive I had lost the pregnancy. But you again beat the odds, and despite everything you were safe and sound.

You decided to enter the world three weeks early, but exactly when I needed you to. Your pregnancy was my hardest by far, and I was grateful to welcome you earlier than planned!

The past 12 months you have been out light and joy. You smile easily, laugh quickly, and bring so much happiness to our family. You are mischievous  and quick, you’ve started getting into everything, and I have to watch you like a hawk. You adore your brother and sister, as well as your daddy.

You’ve started waving and saying night night! You also love to clap, and sneak upstairs into Dani’s room to play with all her toys.

Baby boy, Logi-bear- I will never be able to write how much you mean to me. Thanks for being my buddy and my friend. I can’t wait to see you grow over the next year - but please, don’t change too quickly. I need you to stay little!

Love,

Mommy
