Butterfield House - Utica, New York

GRACE CHURCH AND BUTTERFIELD HOUSE occupy the square on the east side of Genesee Street, between Elizabeth and Devereaux Streets. Grace Church is a fine edifice of sandstone, erected about 1863. The Butterfield House was built by and named for the first man to construct and operate a railway in New York State; it is four stories high, and is the leading hotel in Utica.
