Its a BOY!

So today was the day we have been waiting for, for what seems like forever! It was fun to have the ultrasound done! We are pretty excited that we are having a cute little boy! I had a feeling it was a boy the day I found out I was pregnant! It feels much more real now that we know. It was very cool to see the little guy moving around inside of me! We saw his mouth opening and closing and he was lifting his hands up by his face. So cute! He was also kicking his feet around! I am sad because I still have not felt any movement. I guess he isn't quite strong enough yet. Everything looks good, his organs, spine, heart, etc looked good. He wasn't positioned well to see the four chambers of his heart so the ultrasound tech was trying to get him to move around and he wouldn't. He is stubborn like his dad. ;) He was measuring slightly big. He was in the 68th percentile, but we are still going to keep the due date November 12.

As for me I am still doing well. I get headaches more frequently, but nothing to complain about. I am still not showing a whole lot, but more and more pregnant instead of chubby. The nurse said I was still hiding everything really well and she told me not to be surprised if I came next time and have gained a lot of weight and "popped".

We are beyond excited and can't wait to meet this little guy!

Twenty Three

I had a great birthday this year! I worked all day and partied all night. Haha. My day went something like this. I woke up and got ready like normal. Except at 8:32, the time I was born 23 years early, I stopped and sang Happy Birthday to myself. Haha just kdding, I am not that crazy. Maybe if I wasn't running late and hurrying to put on my makeup I would have. So I get to work and walk into my classroom and my whole class starts singing Happy Birthday to me and runs up and gives me hugs! So cute! I was very spoiled all day. My good pal from work, Gloria, bought the best cookie cake I have ever had! Neal sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers to me.

When they were delivered to my room one of my students said to me, "I want to me a teacher when I grow up so I can get flowers on my birthday." Cute right? I told her she just needed to marry an awesome husband! After work we tried out a new local place up here called Jakers. It was pretty delish! I even got half off my meals cause it was my birthday.

I really wanted to go see The Lucky One, but it started at 9:45 and I am too old to stay up that late and then go to work the next day. So we came back home, Neal got my parents on skype so they could sing Happy Birthday to me and watch me blow out candles on my yummy ice cream cake he got for me (one of my favs)!

Then my parents watched me open up my gifts! It was kind of fun to have them watch, it felt like they were here. It was the first time me and my mom didn't celebrate our birthday's together, which was super sad. I had a hard time knowing what to get this year for my birthday because I didn't know how long any of the clothes would fit. So I got lots of shoes and some cute dresses that I can wear pregnant or not pregnant!

My mom was so sweet and even made sure I had a special birthday treat. She sent my cheese cake and chocolate covered strawberries!

I had a great birthday! (Expect when one of my students' dad asked how it felt to be 30. MEANIE!). I know 23 is going to be a good year!!

Boy or Girl?!

That is the big question! Tomorrow is the big day, 3:00 can not come soon enough! I am so excited I can't even stand it! I don't care what it is, as long as it is healthy! I have had a feeling it is a boy this whole time, so that's what I am sticking with. Some days I want a boy and some days I want a girl. So honestly I would be happy with either!!!

My aunt did the pencil test to me last week. (Haven't heard of the pencil test? This will tell you all about it. http://pencilpregnancytest.com/ If I was cool enough I would just link it automatically, but I can't figure out how to do it. I tried to add a link, but nothing).
Anyways, the pencil predicted 4 kids. First, boy. Second, boy. Third, girl. Fourth, girl. Which sounds perfect to me! We will see how accurate the pencil is! Haha.

So tell me what you think. Boy or Girl?

Neal's Birthday

Neal's birthday was on Memorial Day this year. I was excited to get to spend the whole day with him to celebrate. I had the whole day planned for us. We went to Starbucks for breakfast. Weird, I know. But I had gift cards from my students and since I don't drink coffee and they have yummy breakfast sandwiches I thought it was a good time to use them. So we sat in the coffee shop feeling a bit yuppy-ish enjoying our breakfast.
Next thing planned was to go up to Bogus Basin, a ski resort, 45 minutes out of Boise to do some hiking. It was pretty drive (sorry folks, Utah is still prettier), we could pretty much see the whole treasure valley. As we drove higher, the roads got windier and windier. We were going back and forth, back and forth and it was making me feel a little sick. We were doing this for like 20-25 minutes. I kept asking how much longer, hoping we were close. After another 5-10 minutes I couldn't take it anymore and lost my entire breakfast. There was no where to pull over. So i just did my thing with my head sticking out the window, most of it going down the side of Neal's car, luckily the outside and not the inside.
Finally there was a pull out zone. We stopped. I cleaned up a bit, got some water, and was feeling ready to go. At this point we were pretty much to the top and Neal wanted to turn around and go back down. That was the last thing I wanted to do. I needed to get out of the car and get some fresh air. So up we went. And some more puking I did, this time mostly water. We made it. Neal was worried about me, but I felt fine, just a little weak. I hate an apple and we hit the slopes. I was planning on doing a trail once we got up there, but Neal really wanted to scope out the slopes. He was worried about his pregnant wife the whole time and I was feeling bad for puking on his birthday. Despite the puking, we had a great time.
I wasn't looking forward to the drive down. I laid back the seat and I have never seen Neal drive so slow. He kept looking over at me, like is she going to hurl again, but I didn't. I was just embarrassed the whole way home. Once we got out of the canyon there was some kind of race or parade going on, tons of people were out on the streets. And there was puke all down the my side of the car. I would tell Neal not to pull up next to these people or to drive faster. We went to the car wash and that didn't even get it all off. We had to come home and get out the hose and wipe it down. Anyways, back on with Neal's birthday. We got cleaned up, rested for a bit, Neal opened his presents, and then we went to dinner. I didn't get Neal anything too exciting. Just some new shoes, socks, shorts, and a few shirts!
That is what he really needed. He got money from both of our parents and got some guitar stuff and then is saving the rest for "grown up clothes" once he needs to start dressing more professional during rotations in August. We went to a little local Mexican restaurant called Corona Village, which was delish.
We stopped at Baby's R Us and looked around at some strollers and car seats. Then our last adventure for the night. We went miniature golfing at Wahooz. And of course I whooped Neal! Haha I can say that on here because he will never know!
Anyways, Happy 27th Birthday Neal!! Hope you had a great day! Love you!

Baby

I am sure everybody already knows by now that we are expecting a little baby in November! We are feeling so blessed and we both are so excited! It is going by super slow! I can't wait for November to get here. I have been super lucky and have not had any morning sickness. If I wait too long to eat I might get a little nauseous, but then I eat and I am fine. I am starting to show a little bit more and more everyday. I have noticed it depends on what I am wearing to see how big I look. Without any clothes on I can defiantly tell my body is changing! Most stranger would just think that I ate too much for lunch. I can't wait until I look a little more pregnant. We have a crib and some other nursery stuff picked out already, but I am really struggling with the car seat. I just want a neutral looking one so it can go either way and I can use it for future kids, but I am having a hard time finding one. Well that's not true. I found one that I really like and of course it is the most expensive one! I can't wait to find out what we are having! I have my ultrasound scheduled for June 18th. I had an appointment at 11 weeks and we heard the babies heart beat for the first time. It put a smile on my face and I just sat there and listened with googly eyes, it seemed so surreal. The heartbeat was super fast. The doctor said if I believed in old wives tales it was a girl. We will have to see. I felt a bond with it that day and I think once I know what we are having I will even have a greater bond. I am excited and can't wait. As I told the kids in my class, some of them were so cute about it. A few of them tried to lift up my shirt to see the baby in my stomach. A few others told me that I wasn't fat enough yet (I will take that as a compliment I guess). Then all the boys told me that they hoped it was a boy, while all the girls told me that it was a girl. I will be 15 weeks tomorrow and I have another appointment. I will keep you posted!

LoVe

I have been wanting to blog about this since Valentine's and am finally getting around to it. It is better late than never right? But I just wanted to have a post about the love of my life and list a few reason why I love him!

So here I go.
* I love Neal so much because he is such a hard worker. He goes to school ALL day and then studies ALL night so that he can provide for me and our family one day!
* I love when he sings goofy (like Ryan Reynold's does in The Proposal). It makes me fall in love with him all over again.
* I love when he really smiles, he has this cute crooked smile that melts his heart.
* I love how knowledgeable he is about the gospel. He teaches me so much all the time.
* I love how he watches chick flicks with me, even though he can predict the ending with in the first 5 minutes.
* I love how he kisses me and tells me that he loves me every night before bed and before he leaves for school in the morning.
* I love how he can calm me down in any situation.
* I love how big of a softy he is, even though he acts tough.
* I love how he really is my better half and I can't live without him!

I could keep going and going but since this was our third valentine together I decided to do three things for each year.

I am so glad you are my valentine forever and always!

Christmas Break!

We went down to Utah for the holidays. We had a blast going out to eat with some friends, going to movies, visiting with family, and celebrating our Savior's birth! Here are a few highlights from our holiday break!
Riding Trax downtown to see the lights at Temple Square!

After going through Temple Square we headed over to Abravanel Hall for the Mannheim Steamroller concert, which was incredible!

We spent Christmas Eve with Neal's family. We saw the new Mission Impossible, ate a yummy prime rib dinner, acted out the Nativity, opened some presents, and then headed back to my parents to spend the night there.

We had a great Christmas Day spent with my family.

After opening presents, we headed over to my grandma's for a yummy Christmas brunch! This has always been one of my favorite parts about Christmas.

We went to church and then got ready to skype with Taylor.

Tay is doing awesome and is still the same silly Taylor! It was really fun to talk to him! Christmas night we played games with my family!

The day after Christmas we went bowling.

Neal found a ball with his name on it to bowl with. Unfortunately it didn't bring him good luck. I smoked him! ;)

We went to the Bountiful Temple to end the year.

For New Year's Eve we went to my aunt's house and played some games to ring in the new year.
Me and my momma.
New Year's Kiss :)

I am excited to see what 2012 has in store for us!
