Halloween at School

This is the first year, for a very long time, that the kids were allowed to wear costumes to school. It was pretty awesome! Bug decided to be Luke Skywalker (the fighter pilot), Ali Baba chose BobbaFett, and my sister found the perfect dress for Sissy to be Merida from Brave.

Bikes without Training wheels

Ali Baba actually learned to ride without his training wheels first. Mostly because I couldnt get Bug's off his bike. But they both figured it out and have been terrorizing the neighborhood since. They frequently ask to go for bike/walks. Now I need to get my own bike so I can keep up with them.

Labor Day weekend

As is the annual tradition we went to Manila, UT over the holiday weekend. We went to play, but we did a little work too.

We participated in the city parade, chopped wood, went for a hike, played in the lake, went for a walk, played at the park and over all just enjoyed the time.

Someone turned 40

He didn't want a big deal made, but we celebrated together. We even had his favorite meal, pot roast, yorkshire puddings, mashed potatoes and gravy. Usually he asks for a chocolate cake, this year he asked for trifle. It was a wonderful celebration.

1st day of School

School wasn't an easy single first day. It was several first days.

Bug started 1st grade on Monday, August 24. He was very excited and once he realized how many friends would be in his class he couldn't wait for school to start.

 I took both the boys for first day.

 1st Grade

 Ali Baba had his kindergarten orientation on Monday, but he didn't actually start school until Thursday. By Thursday he was so ready for school that he wanted to ride the bus to school and the carpool from. I felt a little displaced, but at least my little tear shed wasn't witnessed by all the other mothers.

Preschool, Sissy started preschool today, she was so excited, all last week and missed her brothers a little, but this morning she went to school and couldn't stop talking when she got home.

Another independent, she gave me kisses, but turned to the toys and new friends with out a backward glance.

I am excited to have a few hours a week to myself and get some things done, but today felt quiet and a little at loose ends, but too soon the time will fly and I'll barely have time to get all the things that I want to get done.

End of Summer

We took the last couple of weeks before school started to relax and get ready for a "new year". The kids and I went to the county fair. They got their faces painted and we ate hot dogs, along with watching a tiger show.

Day 14, the end of the Road

We planned on this being our last day, but we also decided we should see Great Falls. As soon as we could we went over to the interpretive center, learned more about Lewis and Clark, took a little walk, it was a great morning.

 Sissy struggled in the morning so I took her for a little hike.

At noon we got back on the road we planned on a long day, not getting home until 9ish pm.

And it Rained! again

We stopped for dinner in Pocatello, ID. We got home at 10. It was wonderful to be home. We had a marvelous time!!!!

He didn't shave the entire time!
