...time for a change

You know the saying "all good things must come to an end" well all blogs need a make-over once in awhile!

I've decided (seeing as I'm struggling to post on my blog over the last 6 mths) that a change is as good as a holiday and I need some new scenery to inspire me.

WWI & Savvy challenges

this is my WW1 entry for July - criteria: white + polka dots + tape.  I've been a bit subtle with the polka dots (I've stamped on one of my embossing folders blue backgrnd & then some spotting with punchinella) but they're definitely there along with plenty of yummy washi tape!! "adventure lies beyond"

 I've had this photo of my amazing DH for a while & I feel this LO does it justice.  Its for Jens colour challenge at Savvy.  Its not a colour palette I'd normally go with, but I'm really liking how its turned out! Thx Jen!!!  (the LO photo is not very clear I'm afraid)  "my inspiration"

updating...

well, I seem to be forever apologising for not updating this blog.....& once again, I apologise for not having been on here for the last 6 weeks!! Sometimes LIFE just takes over & seeing as I'm not a 'wordy' then sitting here, with a blank canvas, having to think of something slightly interesting to say.....well, lets just say, its VERY difficult.  Thats why I do what I do.....create pictures on paper! Pictures definitely say 1000 of my words :)

Please enjoy the following few creations of my recent weeks.

I was totally delighted to be asked to be guest designer for Polly! Scraps for June.  The following 3 creations were with Kaylas incredible kit.  If you've never visited there, a visit is a MUST!! 

 this was a LO for my beautiful sis & niece XX

 my June creation for 123 chllge......I really luv the colours in this LO.

 my July project for 123 chllge.  Why not pop over there & give this challenge a try, soooooo super easy! GO ON, JUST DO IT!!  word: MY  colour: PURPLE  technique: CHEVRON! (chevron is everywhere at the moment, I just luv it!!)

this was my June KIU (kraft it up) challenge project.  DS loves Bear Grylls.....thinks he's pretty amazing, so a LO in honour of that.  

 this LO was for a challenge over at Savvy, colours: yellow, teal, green, pink & some black :D  yUm!

 now this LO........I have to say I ADORE!!!! its not just the paper & the quote (thx Charm at Scrapbooking from Scratch forum) but its my beautiful friend & her girls in the photo too! X

 My KIU July challenge project.  All about something I want to do/ or a wish.  This was a fun LO to do.....its really all about this 'journey' I'm on, with trying to get my health & fitness on track.  I'm doing the 12wbt Michelle Bridges program.  It is hard work, but then again, everything worthwhile is hardwork BUT sooooo worth doing!   I'm enjoying getting fitter & loosing a little bit of weight.  I'm feeling so much better & even though I have a long way to go, its becoming a part of who I am.....& I love that!  To quote the infamous Pantene advert.....'It won't hippen overnight, but it woll hippen'.  (Kiwi accent included! :D)

anyway............

in amongst all this creating, I've been on school holidays, turned 40, getting fitter & had a couple of LOs published (with a few more to come too!).  yeah, you'll probably notice turning 40 was not a big deal for me.........just another number really.  I certainly don't feel it!! it was more of a wake up call that I don't want to be an overweight, unfit, unhealthy middle age woman.....so thats what I'm changing!!!  BRING IT ON!!!!

...well I haven't managed to get my head around it yet...need time to play!

so that means....my posts have been few & far between - & I haven't had a chance to post about our weekend with Finn either :(  stay tuned for that post!! :)

these are just a couple of things I've been up to lately.

my sis & niece in 'beauty' - WW1 for May, white+cream+chipboard.  I got my 'prima' kinda on with this one....bit girly for me :)

 and this is a tiny little canvas I did for my GF.  Finn inspired! I was very happy with how it turned out!

one last bit of news.............I've turned 40!!  & it didn't hurt at all :D
Think I'm really looking foward to tho!
I'm having a fabulous dinner with family & friends on Friday night....woo hoo!!!
Life is good!

April is here already!!

.......& I'm Cybercropping over at Savvy & completing some of their April mthly challenges!
here they are, I'm happy with how they all turned out :D
this first one '?' journals (mostly on the back) the crazy teenage 'thing' with drawing on yourself!!! My sis, did it when she hit high school, then me & now my boys!! too funny! Its actually Kerryns puzzle chllge. You had to use 5 of 6 pieces......a heart, an arrow, an exclamation mark of some sort, 3 diff size circles, a ticket & a frame.  I've managed to include them all!

 Jens CC product chllge this mth was to use GLIMMER MIST! :D easy hey!!
the colours in this photo are pretty bad, the peacock feather has incredible colours in it, thats my inspiration piece.

 and Tara definitely chllge me with this autumn pallete, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. Check out the link for the colours as the inspiration is so beautiful.

 Now this is just for Jens April colour combo! As you would know......not colours I get to use everyday ;D
these are 2 amazing women, mother & daughter, whom I worked with & now call wonderful friends.  Luv em & will miss Mary.

 & last but not least is this LO, the colours just kinda popped togehter, kinda thru accident & experimentation!!! Oh no, sorry, this was definitely planned :D. Its Sara's sketch for April....& oh course I've tweaked it to suit me! :D {title says........'we're never gonna survive, unless.....we get a lil crazy'} can't get that song outta my head now...thx 'The Voice'!

Feb was a really slow creative mth for me, but I'm trying to make up for it in March!

this first LO is for 'Daring You to Scrap' - create a LO using 'photobooth strips' or 'polariods'. So I kinda created these when I developed my photos at HN, used one of their templates.

This is my WW1 LO for March - criteria= white + kraft + layering.

then this final LO is for Kerryns product chllge on the Savvy forum = using 80% October Afternoon product + some chippy on a LO.

its raining its pouring.....

....schools cancelled & we're all enjoying a rainy day at home!!

well the cyclone warnings been cancelled today, but the weather is PERFECT!!!

this gives me some time to show you some of my creations from the past week....

these next 3 canvases were made as pressies, for 3 very different people.

the centre piece for this one, comes from the wonderful Caties Craft Corner....such a beautiful butterfly.....

....and from the lovely Charms Creations...the gorgeous lil 'lovely lollipop'....
...and my final canvas for my darling big sis.... with the gorgeously delish resin flower as the centre piece from Scrapbook Savvy.

You must make sure you get over to those shops/blogs as they all have some amazing scrappy stuff!!!

Well, my class went really well last week. It was such a buzz & sooooo surreal that 12 women were sitting there, doing (& loving) MY LO, that I designed, birthed & created!!!!! W.O.W!! seriously head spinning! :) Thanks Karen for inviting & encouraging me! x
