bye bye

or see you very soon I should say
here I am in the middle of the night updating this blog just before we leave for Madrid
Our flight leaves tomorrow morning and we are all set, sam is in bed and I can't sleep
We had an amazing time, very special 18 months in this side of the world
Feeling a bit nostalgic already but also so excited and so so happy to go back, seeing friends and family again.. oh... I can NOT wait
I want to show you so many pictures, I hope you enjoyed the few I managed to post here
Below I updated a few pics of our last days in Buenos Aires and our holiday in Brasil ( we were back yesterday just to collect our lugagge) - some posts managed to come up in different order to how i published them, I hope it is nor confusing, I have no energy to try and fix it now
See you very very soon
I am off to bed now hoping the next 24hs just fly as we fly over to you

gloria market

salt!

maracuya

sunday market in Rio
i tried every fruit I could - even the bananas taste so different!
I felt in heaven, so excited trying to eat all sort of treats
i wish there was one like this in Madrid...

buzios

another beatiful little town , this one is in the north of Rio
we stayed in a lovely place - this women we met rented us the most beautiful room in a lovely house by the sea, pity i didnt take many pictures here
we eat lots of fish, oysters and had a few killer caipirinhas of course

ilha grande

we stayed a whole week on an island doing lots of swimming, hiking,eating...and a bit of sunbathing
we walked an hour away from the main little town and stayed in a beach for ourselves in a pousada to ourselves, paradise - the owners were great cooks so we arranged our dinners with them, such a luxury having to think of nothing
we even got adopted by the cutest dog that slept on our doormat every night
we left at dawn on a boat a big bigger than the one in the picture, after a week of just what we needed, ready for next stop

paraty

a beautiful town by the sea south of Rio de Janeiro
very picturesque
we stayed there for a couple of days - as we arrived it was the begining of the Paraty International Literature Festival so it was great, brilliant atmosphere and loads going on but also very expensive so the last night we decided to head back to Rio on an overnight bus
a bit drunk in the bus station at 2am but it was worth it

rio de janeiro

what an amazing city
we enjoyed it so much
the second pic is the view form the front of the house where we stayed
the third one the view from the back

our last days in bs as

we had very busy last few days in Buenos Aires before heading out to our holiday in Brazil
packing up was easier than I thought though, we did lovely things and felt nostalgic but we also had lots of fun and that always makes it easier ( and I bought an amazing yellow hat, that really makes things much easier)

el bonde

our transport to get home in Rio was so much fun

someone shouted one day "el bonde e una feria" or something lie it in portuguese meaning that this little tram is a party and it is true, the atmosphee is great any time, hard to explain as it is just a kind of public transport that brings you to Santa Teresa neighbourhood

sam loved travelling hanging out of the bars, so cool
