Ant managed to winkle out a couple of decent pike on dead baits once the snow had gone. One of 20.02 and one of 21.12 made it a really great couple of sessions for him.

Dean

After a year out from pike fishing and concentrating on Carp fishing, Mark Green managed to talk Dean into going pike fishing with him and into rejoining the PAC.
Dean has got the pike bug again now after catching his new pb pike that weighed 15lbs.

Stephen Jones

Steve Jones set himself a target at the start of the season of beating his pb of 24.8, Well, yesterday he managed it in style with this pike of 25lb 4oz which was caught from a local pit from 6ft of water on ledgered mackerel.

Wendy & Kathryn

New members Wendy Mason-Barrie & her friend Kathryn enjoyed a great day out pike fishing on the UEA Broad today, where both caught a double each. Not bad, especially as both are new to pike fishing - and this was Wendy's first ever pike.
Both are now hooked on pike fishing!
Kathryn's pike weighed in at 11lb, whilst Wendy's weighed 13lb. Both fell to mackeral, and tail-walked their way to the bank. Well done ladies, lets hope that these are the first of many this season.

Stephen Jones

One of his first trips of the season, saw member Steve Jones connect with this cracking pike which equalled his PB. As soon as he struck into her, Steve knew she was somethin special, and at 24.08 she certainle is. The fish came from a local water on a herring.
Having set out with a season's target of achieving a new PB, Steve has come mighty close already. Tight lines fella!

Whilst attending the Glasgow Angling Centre show, Ant got a tap on the shoulder from an old buddy, Paul Young. Telling him to hold out his hand, he carefully placed this Toby in his hand, and said that it was most probable that Ant would get more use out of it. A tartan lure to remind Ant of his roots.
Personally I think Ant should get another one made and use em' as ear-rings; or better still just that one as a nose ring!
I think Graham Slater was looking for something Tartan......you'd better watch that lure like a hawk Ant if Slater's around.

Eric Robinson

Just because his son Elliot went out and caught a New PB of 20.14, dad Eric, decided to go out and catch his first ever 'Hat Trick of Doubles' at 10lb, 17lb and then 16lb, all in the space of about 3 hours and all on mackerel deadbaits.
Typical dad, waiting for his son to go to school and then going fishing without him! Either that, or Eric is fed up with Elliot beating him!

He's been out chucking artificials around again, and this is the result. Nice Bass, but not a Pike. Come on Ant the season is upon us, change species!

Elliot Robinson

With his dad grabbing all the attention of late, Elliot decided to show him how it should be done properly. Result was a New PB with this absolute fantastic 20lb 14oz pike from the River Swale on the old trusty mackeral.

The first of many more to come, especially as Elliot is still only 15 years old. Well done mate.

Steve went out last week and managed this nice upper double (17lb) from a coloured River Severn which was up by an estimated 3ft. A small Roach proved to be this hungry predator's downfall.

Ant Glascoe

Is no-one safe from the personage of Ant Glascoe? He's even trying to get his mate and well known and respected fly-casting guru Hywel Morgan into pike fishing. Mind you fishing with Ant does nothing for one's respectability!

Eric Robinson

Cheeky Eric shunted his son off carp fishing with his mates, so he could spend a day after pike on his own on a Leeds AC river. The result was this 17lb beuaty which could not ignore the Lamprey on offer.

Team Robinson

After a summer break from pike fishing, Team Robinson are back in action. After a summer spent chasing after Carp and Barbel, (including new PB barbel of 10lb 8oz for Elliot and 9lb 8oz for Eric) the pike action returned with a vengeance a few days back.

Caught on the River Swale, both pike fell to mackerel deadbaits, getting Erics campaign off to an great start. The first was 19lb 12oz and the second was spot on 19lb.

The first of many to be shown on this gallery I hope.

Paul Mersh

Paul recently returned from his annual trip to Ireland where he took these great shots. This stunning piccy of an acrobatic 17.04 pike, and then an equally impressive photo of Paul and a 25.08. From the looks of them both and the way they fought, I bet they had never seen an anglers hooks before.

Ant Glascoe sent me this piccy of a Bass caught on one of the New Savagear jointed 4-play rubber shads. Looks really life-like, and is bound to get plenty of hits from hungry pike. Boy they look good.... more details to follow.

School Report

Despite constant reminders about species, Ant continues to catch Pike when Perch fishing, and Perch whilst Pike fishing. The extra homework that has been applied to Ant over this year has seemed to serve no purpose at all, and all of his teachers have just about given up with him.
Extra species recognition lessons, practical lessons with a variety of other anglers; and 1000 lines at a time; and nothing appears to have worked. He even had the audacity to catch a tyre from a local water instead of a fish whilst Lure fishing last year!
Perhaps putting him back a year might have benfits.....but perhaps not!

Ant has recently been doing his impersonation of the Classic Films. Here's his offerings for "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" and For a Few Dollars More".
Ant actually managed two roles in the first film, as The Bad & The Ugly come natural to him.
Do us a favour mate, and keep the cap on in all your piccies, as the sunshine being reflected off your head ruins the exposure! Only Joking Ant - keep those piccies coming.

Sean James

Sean James landed this fine mid-double from the Norfolk Broads recently. Leaping clear out of the water after his surface lure, shows perfectly just how active pike can be at this time of year.

However, please follow the PAC Guidelines on Summer Pike Fishing like Sean did and use the correct gear - treating pike with the care they deserve.

Carl Welch

Who says there's no pike in this water? Carl Welch caught this cracker from a Surrey water that was not supposed to hold any pike.
A certain case of an un-pressured water providing an ideal environment for what pike are present to grow to a large size. This beauty weighed in at 27lb and fell to a sardine.

Paul Walker

One of our members Paul Walker, has just had the season to end all seasons. On his last trip of the season, and after having beaten his old PB of 19.10 last January with a 27.08, he could not have expected what cropped up on this trip.

This 28.03 Esox was caught on a Savage "Jack" lure. After years of trying, two fantastic twenties of 27.08 and now this one at 28.03 is the stuff that angling dreams are made of. The pike was caught from a local lake in North Lincolnshire, which over the season has seen Paul catch a stunning total of

97 Fish for 1,031 lb - An average weight of 10lb 3oz. This included 42 doubles for an average of 14lb 6oz.
In his own words " Quite simply, the best season I have ever experienced in ten years of Pike fishing and one I am unlikely to reproduce. Still ,with a baby due in July, it has made up for the lack of fishing I will be getting next winter....

Somehow, I can't see Paul's wife allowing him out as much next season!

Best brace out of 9 20s caught by by Dave West in 36hrs from Shannon System. Weighig in at 26.12 & 27lbs. What a few days fishing you had from the sounds of it.

Ant Glascoe

My God I feel Faint! Ant Glascoe has only gone and caught a pike on a 'Bluey dead-bait' and not a lure in sight!
Personally I think this near twenty is much better looking than Ant, but nowhere near as nice as the nurses I've had looking after me recently.
What really puzzled me though, is that he entitled his photo sent to me as "underpants"! Is this some fetish of yours Ant that we should be aware of?
Keep em' coming folks now that I'm back in action.

Diane Marsden

Diane Marsden only started serious pike fishing two years back after being introduced to the sport by her brother Trevor Jickells, who is also a PAC member. (And who appeared on this gallery a week ago).
After a hard season, Diane caught this fine double of 15lbs 08ozs yesterday from a Lincolnshire drain. A great way to end the season.

Paul O'Neil

This is one of those pike caught in a situation where a bait boat was required to reach the feeding area for large pike. 100+ yards out, and in only 3ft of water.
Caught by member Paul O'Neil on Sunday 7th March from a Central Lowland water, she took a legered Pollan and weighed in at 31 lb; and is a new PB for Paul.

Trevor Jickells

21.02 of a gorgeous looking Lincolnshire drain pike for member Trevor Jickells.
Caught on 9th March along with another pike of 17.08. A great day by anyone's standards.
As can be clearly seen, this fish came from a built up area that might often be overlooked by those in search of pike. A good lesson there!

John Burton

Just like a local bus service, nothing for ages then two come along in short order! After struggling to get a river twenty this year, John managed his second just days after getting his first. This one weighed in at 20.04 and came from the River Adur in Sussex.

Dan Clarke

Them Savagear 4-play herrings certainlu appear to catch their fair share of the decent pike.
Dan Clarke put his pike pattern 4-play to good effect with this great 17lb pike. A great photo mate.

John Burton sent me in this cracking piccy of Lionel Mills with a River Adur 25 pounder that took a sandeel.

After a season searching the River Adur in Sussex for quality pike, John Burton finally cracked it - just as the season is coming to an end. At 21.04 she's a real beauty.

Stuart Lucy

With the end of the traditional season almost upon us, Stuart Lucy has been out recently enjoying some hectic sport from his local waters. This 19lb 4oz pike caught on Saturday 27/02/10 in a session which included 3 other pike weighing in at 13lb, 11lb & 8lb. The 19 was taken on a float fished half herring & the others on popped up ledgered smelt.

Reg Boyall

Reg has been hitting the same river area that his given him a lot of success this season. The result being the capture of more pike up to 17lbs in weight.
But rather than show just another piccy of a pike - I decided to add this shot he sent me of a rather chubby Robin that he'd been sharing his lunch with.
Looks almost too tubby to take off!

Ant reckons this little Chub attacked the 20lb+ Pike he was fishing for with the 4 Play Herring seen in the photo. Personally I think he was seeing things, and the expression "Should Have Gone To Specsavers Mate" comes to mind.
I just love taking the pee out of Ant........ but seriously this chub competed with a brute of a pike and won 1st prize in getting it's photo taken with Ant.
Good sources from within the freshwater world inform me that the jealous Pike is looking to take the chub out for lunch! Watch out for the latest on this story from our intrepid reporter and Press Officer; Chris Bishop!

Ant Glascoe & Christian

Kind hearted Uncle Ant took his nephew Christian out with him recently, and the pair were rewarded with this lovely double which fell to a wobbled deadbait. Then a new venue on a family pike fishing break, produced 20 odd pike whilst working on some new savagear bits, but the fishing was hard as the river was a little flooded and chocolate, but ploughing through floating debris they had some nice fish including this jalopy, which was taken under the rod tip.

Reg Boyall

Just a couple of days after sending me his first piccy for the Gallery, Reg has been out again catching pike from the same area. The latest session saw him land 8 pike including this beauty of 15.08.
At a spritely age of 71, Reg is currently enjoying a good run of pike after a fairly lean spell; and more importantly is enjoying his fishing as much as ever.
