Braxton's Flag Football 2013

This was Braxton's first year of flag football. He loved everything about it. Learning plays and positions, practices, and of course-the games.
Coach Bradshaw did a great job, and I can't believe all the different plays the kids learned! Brax was really sad after his last football game. He just didn't want the season to be over, and he was upset they lost their last game. He really liked all the boys on his team, and wishes he could have the same team next year.
Nice job Braxton!

Beaver County Fair 2013

This was at the demolition derby. The boys always like watching cars smash and crash each other! We were having a great time until a drunk guy behind us started causing problems. Then the cop in Preston had to come out and take care of the situation. Mason was scared to death, Braxton didn't know what to think, and I was annoyed that we happened to sit right in front of a guy that would cause trouble. But after Preston and some other officers took that guy away, we were able to enjoy the rest of the derby.
We played co-ed volleyball and women's volleyball at the fair. Our co-ed team was: Preston and I, Cole and Taleena, Tristalee, Kaylee, and cousin Ryan. We had a blast! Ryan is an animal, and Cole said he wasn't in any pain while he was playing, so that was great! I wish so much that I would have had someone take a few pictures for me. We took 1st place in co-ed. It went really late into the night, and got pretty chilly, but was totally worth it! Our women's team was: Me, Trissy, Taleena, Kaylee, Jeannie, Tasha, Megan, and Heather. Again we had a blast! We took 2nd place and left the fairgrounds right around 4:00am. So it was another really late night, and even colder than night 1, but so much fun!

First Day Of School 2013

Braxton is in 2nd grade and has Mrs. Dalton. Mason has Mrs. Sagers for Kindergarten. Braxton wasn't nervous for the first day, he was just sad the summer was over.
Mason was scared to death to start school. He was afraid he wouldn't know what to do, or where to sit, and not make any friends. He tried so hard not to cry when I gave him a hug and said goodbye. It helped that he had a few kids in his class that he knows, so he sat down and started playing with one of them. Then he was ok. When I picked him up, he said "I love school! I didn't need to be so scared!" He couldn't wait to go back the next day:) He has afternoon kindergarten, and didn't think it was fair that Braxton got to go to school first thing in the morning, and he had to wait until after lunch.
They both really like their teachers, and are doing really well in school. They've each made new friends, and have so much fun at recess! Braxton is good at reading and homework, but he doesn't want to do it, and rushes through it. His whole world revolves around playing. But, he does well with his tests, and is right where he needs to be. Mason loves homework and wishes his teacher gave him more. He has made huge improvements since the first of the year. He has great handwriting, and he's a perfectionist with his homework, so it takes him longer, but looks great in the end. Braylon has gotten used to the boys being gone, and knows when it's time to take them and pick them up. He brings me his shoes and says, "Guys, school." It breaks his heart when Preston is home and I try to leave him with Preston while I get the kids. So even when Preston is home, Bray has to go with me to drop them off and pick them up.
A few weekends before school started, we went up north for a baby blessing, birthday party, school shopping, and best of all-7 PEAKS. Everything was fun, and we enjoyed seeing family, but we had a blast at 7 Peaks. I'm so happy that I have kids tall enough to go on rides with Preston that I don't dare go on:) Braylon and I hung out in the wave and kiddie pools, while Brax and Mase went on all the big slides with Preston. Braylon and I did go on a few tube slides with them, and he really liked it, but he mostly wanted to stay in the wave pool. Poor Braxton got stung by a wasp right before getting in the line for the tallest slide. He was so tough and tried not to cry, and still went on the slide. Mason was more brave than I've ever seen him. He couldn't get enough of the slides, and wanted to go faster and faster. We'll definitely have to go again next summer!

Cove Fort Days 2013

Preston and I took our kids and cub scouts to Cove Fort days in August. It was a lot of fun, and the boys were so good!
The clock on the mantle and the rocking chair are 2 of only 3 original pieces from Cove Fort.
