Dallin actually took this picture. It's rare when I am actually in front of the camera. Paul never took one of me and the babe at the hospital. I am sure that he was afraid that I would castrate him or something.
We are in survivor mode most of the time right now. Paul's sleep deprived because of his work schedule, and I am sleep deprived because I am up all night nursing. Isaac is a really good baby so far and always goes back to sleep after eating, and makes sure to take plenty of naps during the day. Dallin and Ellie are oblivious to all the lost sleep, both of them getting 12 hours a night. I think they actually love that mom and dad are zombies because they get to watch a lot of TV lately.
Dallin has a lot of fun with the baby. He is constantly saying, "He's sooo cute, I could die." And Ellie likes to say that Isaac "is sooo fluffy!!" The enjoy Despicable Me, that is for sure!
I have finally resolved to lower my expectations of myself right now. The laundry and dishes are/were piling up and it takes great talent to walk through our house without stepping on something. It was really driving me bonkers and giving me a lot of anxiety that I couldn't get it all done. So I thought "to heck with it all!" and focused my best efforts into nursing. I am getting pretty good at it, too! Isaac's over 10 pounds now. Promptly after my resolution, I got some magical energy and was able to clean the kitchen and do four loads of laundry. Said laundry is now sitting (clean) in a pile on the floor in my bedroom. It might get folded, and if it does, it might get put away. No guarantees.
Since giving birth, I have been reminded how amazing mobility is! It's absolutely wonderful! Sweeping the kitchen floor today felt great, and I even broke a (small) sweat. Here's to exercising real soon, magical energy, and SLEEP!
