If you've been over to my house in the past year and half you would have noticed I'm missing a kitchen drawer...looked like this.
Well almost a year and half ago, I had a major break down. I was so overwhelmed and hurting that day.... I had loaded the girls into the truck and I couldn't find my keys. I looked everywhere and it all started to build up in me. Everything just rushed and wanted to explode. I slammed my kitchen drawer shut a few times and it broke. I was so angry...I was angry my dad was dying and I couldn't do anything for him. I was angry cause I felt that way and couldn't be strong.. I was angry I was going to loose him. And then after I broke the drawer I was angry cause I knew he couldn't help me fix it and I would have to do it on my own. My dad was always there for me, I always asked his advice on house projects, car issues and anything a dad could do.
I've avoided fixing the drawer for a year now. I don't know why but I just didn't want to face it. Well today I told Quinn we were going to fix it no matter what. As we drove to Lowe's to pick up a piece of wood. I just stared at the mess I made of the drawer and tears started to roll down my face. I asked Quinn if you could have an emotional attachment to an object that you broke out of emotion break down. I felt this drawer was more than just a drawer it represented me and the wholes I have in my heart. Quinn said sure you could feel that way and now you are starting to mend it. I realized that was it....I need to start to mend my heart just as I was going to mend the drawer. I fixed the drawer today and a little piece of my heart. I know my dad would be proud of the job I did :)

Kitchen Drawer is fixed.
Stink eye!
K2 has the best stink eye ever! When she first started to do it she would say "no" and throw her arm up and down. Now it just comes with out the word "no" or the arm. I now can just say "stink eye" and she will make the face. What a kid :) It's really hard to catch on camera so I'm glad I got this pic.
Our Texas Tornado turns 3!
If you don't know but my dad nicknamed K1 as his "Texas Tornado". She has lived up to the nickname :) Words can't express how much we love K1! She brought so much love, hope and brightness into our lives. We are so thankful to K1's birthmother and for the courageous act she did. I remember the last day we saw K1's birthmother...as she said goodbye to K1 and left her with us. She was crying uncontrollably and was trying so hard to be brave. My heart ached for her and for the loss she would feel. It was nice to hear from her 1 year later that she knows she made the right choice and loves us! That means so much to us. We hold those memories close to our hearts. Quinn loves talking about those days and the time we spent in Texas and for K1's adoption experience. We love K1's birthmother will all our hearts!
We were able to celebrate K1's b-day in Idaho with family. She had a lot of fun with her cousins, aunts, uncles and grandmas.
K1's favorite things:
Her sister: she loves to take care of K2 and be her big sister.
Dancing: she loves to dance and sing
Dresses: she would love to wear a dress everyday! She loves to dress up from shoes to necklaces.
Color: Pink..pink and more pink
Loves things to be clean and organized. She loves helping around the house. It's nice!!!
Cooking: She loves to help make cookies
Animals: Dogs...she loves our dogs especially Molly.
Movie: Lilo & Stitch and Care Bears
We love you K1 and we are so blessed to have you in our lives!
Wow I'm a slacker!
It's been months since our last post...I need to get caught up..but that's my life goes, always catching up :)
In December, Quinn and I celebrated our 15yr anniversary...it's crazy we've been married for that long.
Quinn was able to go visit his brother Ed in Baltimore before he headed to Afghanistan. We wish we all could have gone! Ed is currently in Afghanistan and is doing well.
We had our annual Morrill Christmas party at the Hinckleys. We had a lot of fun except Keira...she had Roselia at the time and we didn't know it. Poor thing.
On Christmas Eve we did our holiday tradition with the Hinckleys. We ate at Red Robin and then went to temple square to see the lights. On Christmas Day we had a lot of fun and the girls were so excited to get their kitchen set. The day was spent playing and having fun. We had a nice dinner with Grandma Cheryl and Grandma Donna. We were even able to get in a few games of Thumper.
On Dec. 31st we honored my dad by taking a ride on the "Heber Creeper". It was nice to honor my dad in that way. He loved planes, trains and automobiles. I can't believe it's been 1 year since he passed. It seems like yesterday but then it seems like years since I've seen him. We miss him so much!!!!
Our January was busy as well. We were able to attend the temple with our nephew Jordan who was preparing to go on his mission. What an experience...it brings tears to my eyes thinking about it. Jordan is my sister Sheila's son. He is going to serve a mission in Houston, Texas, Spanish speaking, he is currently at the MTC. This is my first missionary experience I've ever had and it's been a wonderful. We are so proud of him and we know he will be an awesome missionary. I know my dad is smiling! :)
We just got back from Idaho last weekend, we went through the temple with my sister Jennifer and her husband Trent. They went through for the first time and were sealed together. Another wonderful weekend at the temple. Congrats!

Wow, where has the last month gone!!!
We started our summer off with a bang!! We took the girls to Disneyland over Memorial Day weekend...it was great fun and the girls got to enjoy it with Grandma Cheryl. However...Note to self...never go on a holiday weekend! :) Both girls were happy and enjoyed most of the rides. If Keira didn't like something she would plug her ears. Kendall just smiled at everything and everyone. Keira absolutely loved "Belle" and gave her a BIG hug! I was so excited to meet Tinkerbell! :)
We came back and off to Idaho we went. I was able to attend our nephew Jordan's high school graduation. I can't believe he graduated....where has the last 18 yrs gone! I remember when he was born...crazy!
We had our annual Morrill family reunion at Lake Alturas. Our family was in charge this year...had to come up with games, food, crafts. It was fun and glad that all went well! The girls loved being outside and with their cousins. Keira was able to take her first boat ride....and it was in the rain! She was having so much fun...shouting...Yeppy! She also got to experience the "cold" 47 degree Lake Alturas. She walked right in and stood there for a sec and then started to cry. I could see the pain on her face and brought back the memories of that COLD water.

Happy Mother's Day!
For years I dreaded "Mother's Day"..longing to be a mother and to know how it feels. Today I realized how selfish I had been during those years. I never saw past my situation to be supportive of other women. Today, I finally felt the "true" meaning of Mother's Day, my eyes were opened and I didn't have any of those negative feelings when a speaker said to all the "women" Happy Mother's Day. Before the girls I couldn't find comfort in those words but today I did. There have been so many women in my life that have been an influence or support in my life. I wouldn't have made it through the past 2 years without my mother, my sisters, my mother-in-law, my sisters-in-law, my dear girls friends, my new playgroup friends and our birthmothers.
I wanted to give a shout out to my mother. My heart was filled with love today as I thought about her. What a women! I've seen my mom go through life's highs and lows and never complained. She has many qualities, kindness, loving, charitable, compassion and strength. If I could be at least 1/2 of what she is it will be a miracle. There is nothing more comforting then to know your mom is there for you whenever you need her. Mom, I love you and thanks for always being there and always snuggling the grand babies :)

Our 2 yr old....
So I've always wondered what people meant by the "terrible 2s". We are starting to get a little taste of it...K1 really isn't that bad but it is starting :)
I'm honestly loving this age. She is growing up so fast and starting to become a little person with her likes and dislikes. She surprises me everyday with something new.
