Book Selection Meeting and Potluck Lunch

Come to Deanna's house on 12/5/2017 @ 12:15pm for our annual Book Club Book Selection Meeting.

This is the meeting where we choose what we'll be reading in the upcoming year, so please come with a couple book suggestions to add to the mix.  If you're unable to attend the meeting, go ahead and let us know of your book suggestion(s) by commenting on the blog, replying to the email, or sending your suggestion(s) to the meeting with a friend.

Also, we'll be eating lunch together, so bring a lunch item to share.

Tepper Isn't Going Out- May 23

Murray Tepper would say that he is an ordinary New Yorker who is simply trying to read the newspaper in peace. But he reads while sitting behind the wheel of his parked car, and his car always seems to be in a particularly desirable parking spot. Not surprisingly, he is regularly interrupted by drivers who want to know if he is going out.

Tepper isn’t going out. Why not? His explanations tend to be rather literal—the indisputable fact, for instance, that he has twenty minutes left on the meter.

But once New Yorkers become aware of Tepper, some of them begin to suspect that he knows something they don’t. And an ever-increasing number of them are willing to line up for the opportunity to sit in his car with him and find out what it is.

April's Book

This coming Tuesday (4/25/2017) we're meeting to discuss Forever and Forever: The Courtship of Henry Longfellow and Fanny Appleton by Josi S. Kilpack.

This is Book 1 in a new Proper Historical Romance series by Josi Kilpack that will “focus on the lives of real historical figures who have intriguing stories of courtship that are recreated in fictionalized accounts based on real biographical and social history research”.  Book 3 is due for release in the fall of this year (see Goodreads "Historial Proper Romance series" or Josi's website).

We'll meet at Deanna's house at 7:30pm.
