To My Fantastic Husband

Thanks for such an amazing Valentine's day.

Thank you for knowing that "the crazy purple ones that look like fireworks" are way better than a bunch of roses.

Thanks for knowing exactly what I needed and taking the time to make sure that I went out and enjoyed it all! Thank you for knowing me well enough to help me find "me" again!

Thanks for being who you are. You are amazing. You are my best friend and my sweet heart.

Hey, I love you.

A very very long post....

So, I've been meaning to post for a long time now, and for one excuse or another I just haven't... so now you get one really long post... So, get comfy, maybe grab a little snack, and away we go!

Best Buddies

These 2 just crack me up. They are honestly just best buds. I hoped they would and it just melts my heart to watch them together... Kayson is usually the 1st one up each morning, and he'll play with me or Karl till Riser wakes up and then he really gets excited. He gets this huge grin and about jumps out of my arms the minute that he sees him. They immediately start giggling. The other morning they both got up at the same time and I just laid in bed and listened to them "chatting" Riser would say "Kaaaayson... did you waked up?" Kayson would giggle or screech... the giggling and screeching back and forth for about a 1/2 hour. Both still just in bed looking at each other... so fun...

The other day I went to get Riser when he woke up from his nap he said "Mom, Kayson wants to sleep in my bed with me." Kayson was so excited.

All my guys... I have found that I have a lot of pictures with riser wandering around in just a diaper... I promise he does own some pants and he wears them most of the day...

Helping me with the laundry. I put Kayson in a basket hoping that it would be novel enough to keep him entertained while I folded some laundry. It was apparently way more fun then I had imagined because within 5 minutes, Riser emptied another basket, positioned it next to Kayson and jumped in.

Now that Kayson is sitting up on his own, I put them in the tub together... This is a picture of their 1st bath together... They were both so excited...They both just grinned and grinned.

Playhouse Disney

A few weeks ago, Riser went on Date with Grandma Marlene and Tanner to see Playhouse Disney Live. (I got to come too to be crowd control... My mom said she didn't want to take 2 little people up and down all those stairs by herself... can't say I blame her) They both had a fantastic time. They were completely glued to the stage the whole time. I loved watching them dance in their seats and sing along. Riser is still singing the part from My friends Tigger and Pooh "tweet tweet ribbit ribbit buzz buzz whooo!"

Riser enjoying his yummy blue snow cone/drink during intermission.

Tanner with his... I think he may have given himself a little brain freeze!

The Riser Update

This is mostly so I can remember all the funny things he's up to these days.

Dicey:
This is his imaginary friend (we think) He talks about her ALL THE TIME... Here are a few things we have learned about her...

*She drives a car, because Riser has gone on a ride in it with her.
*She owns a house, because Riser goes and plays there.
*She is a lady he "works" with.
*They are employed at "The Very Rocket Ship" (I'm guessing from little Einsteins) Although lately she seems to have moved on to working at The Summer Droop (AKA the summit group (where Karl works)
*They work on Signing Time. (One of Karl's freelance clients)
*She hangs out "on the boat" a lot... I'm not sure where "the boat" is located.

Music
He continues to be obsessed with music. He was finally able to add a "real" "oof oof oof" (any instrument that uses air to play, in this case a saxophone) to his "band" at Christmas. His drums and guitar continue to be 2 of his favorite toys around, although he has played his drums nearly to death... one has an enormous crack on it, and the symbol is no longer intact... Oh well, I guess we'll play 'em till they give out completely. Some of the funny things he says while playing are: "a 1! a 1, 3,2, 4!" while tapping the sticks together, to begin a new song (Aunt Milly taught him how to "Count it off" that is what he came away with) When the song is finished he yells "Thank you for the band!" We're guessing that this one comes from his favorite Sunday program "the Lawrence Welk Show" (It was on right before church when we had the late block)

He still loves to sing. Some of his favorite songs include: Sunbeam, You are my sunshine, Handlebars, Fidelity (AKA Breaks My Heart), Tell me the stories of Jesus, and No no no. Very eclectic. He knows most of the words to all these songs... needless to say, we've had to start being aware of what songs are playing.

Thomas:
The boy loves his trains! I love to hear him talk as he plays: "hello Thomas!" "Hello Spencer!" "Are you going to drive on the track today?" "Yes!, I'm going in the tunnel!"

Favorite Sayings:

"So, What's the deal Mom?"
"Or something..." he adds it everything. "I want some cereal and bananas, or something." Can I watch Batman, or something?"
"Mya! You can NOT watch me eat!" I am still waiting for him to figure out that she watches him eat because he feeds her...
" need to not" Me: "Riser you need to take a bath (or any number of other things)" Riser: "No, I need to not take a bath."

Frosting a Valentine cookie that we were going to take to his cousins.... We decided against it when we realized that everyone in our family is sick... Nothing says "I love you" like a good cold right?

Kayson update:

Kayson continues to be a happy smiling kid, with the biggest blue eyes you'll ever see.
We keep thinking that he's teething, because he chews everything he can get his hands on, but as of today, still no teeth!

He has mastered the art of sitting up on his own! Next step, crawling. He's starting to transition from sitting to looking like he's about to crawl. A few more weeks and nothing will be safe! Look out Riser! He'll really be after your toys!

He is still a TERRIBLE sleeper. He wakes up and just wants to hang out at least 2 times a night. I am completely stumped. He just doesn't seem to need much sleep because even on the days when he hasn't slept at all the night before, he is still as pleasant as ever. If I can just figure out how to be that way too, we'll be in business! ;)

He finally loves baths. When he just had to lay there, he really just wanted out as soon as he could. Now that he can splash and play (and be with his brother) he could stay there all day!

All in all 2 fun kids! I am one lucky mom! I love you boys!
