Vacation Banner

I'm sure I've talked about it before, but I got started scrapping by making winning banners for a Mom's group I'm a member of.  We have categories, submit pics, then vote.  I used to just help, then the person who ran it, gave it to me.  I have since gotten help (Callaluna/Heather) and are starting to involve one more person who said they would like to make banners!
This is a banner I made for the contest.  I modified it for blog posting (removed some info).  I think it turned out cute.

Praise Timeline Cover

So, first of all. . . I have been away for a while.  The summer really overwhelmed me.  Between my medical issues, several wedding jobs (I'm a photographer) and other individual shoots, my son breaking his arm and feeling stressed and not myself at all, I just didn't have it in me to scrap.
I withdrew from most people and things.  I'm not back 100% yet.  But I hope to be soon.
I can only ask for your forgiveness.

Now. . . on to my new timeline cover.  I saw this kit and knew I had to have it.  And I've been wanting to make a new Facebook cover photo for a while.  I made my other one earlier this year.  I decided to make one without a picture.  I like how it turned out!

Our Thing

The Lovely Colors over at With Love Studio are such a fun way to mix and match pieces.  Though, I will admit, most of the time I end up getting the matching pieces. LOL
It's a very soft color palette this month.  I really liked the love theme of the Smitten pieces, by Midnight Owl Designs.  And I love templates, so I just had to use those too!

Grand Canyon

My husband and I took a trip to Arizona to visit his grandparents in 2009.  It was only the second time I had ever been on a plane!  With that said, I had never seen the Grand Canyon either.
It was such a glorious sight!  So beautiful!
Four years later, I scrapped my first page from that trip! LOL  I used the XOXO Collab, Are We There Yet? from With Love Studios.  And a template from FranB Designs' This & That Vol 6 pack!  I LOVE the big photo!  It was perfect for this page.

Warms My Heart

My best friend and I are starting to do a weekly challenge with each other.  Just to help us make time to scrap.  It might be a little more than just once a week, especially since I've already finished this week's!  Our challenge this week was to scrap a Mother's Day page.  Kind of feels like cheating since I have SO many things from the last 3 years to scrap about, but I did a page from this year.
I used the new kit from Mollyscraps, Melemele Poni.  AND the new templates from FranB Designs, This and That V6.

Happy Mother's Day

I made a Mother's Day "card" to send to my Mom.  Then I altered it to a general, less personal, form so that it could be given to others.
I am not a fan of pink. . . at all!  But it was for my Mom and she likes red and pink.

The kit I used is Elizabeth Jane by Designs by Shelly Marie.

And I haven't update about the challenge at my gym. . . I got first place in my category (women's weightloss), but I didn't win the overall prize or runner-up *pout*  Sad times.
Thank you for all the encouragement!

Family 2010-2013

Being a photographer, I often make pages using large photos.  I like when the photo is the main subject on the page.  FranB Design's new templates, Big & Beautiful, are awesome for accomplishing just that!  And the kit Celebrate Life by Designs by Shelly Marie caught my attention with it's wonderful blues!  I will say that I altered one of her elements for my page.  The "Family" title at the bottom is actually the top of her frame.  I just deleted the frames off and adjusted the border so it matched.

Easter 2013

I had taken some time off from my CT duties.  But it's a new month and I am making my way back.
We had a blast on Easter!

Even though we don't celebrate the easter bunny, we got Tristan a basket.  AND my inlaws got him one, too.
I used Funny Bunny Land from Lisa Rosa Designs.  She's kind of new. . . but I enjoy her kits.

Time For Yourself

I love the colors of the kit, Be True To Yourself by Shelly Marie.  I decided to keep with the theme and make a reminder page for myself.  AND for every other Mom out there.
This is also my first, non-photo page!

Write

I think I might very well be crazy. LOL  If you are new around here. . . you might think that is an odd statement.  If you've been around awhile. . . you know that's pretty right now. :P

I decided to challenge myself this week and make a page without using a kit!  Crazy, I know!  I used a template from AK Designs (for the shapes/structure), Black Basic paper pack from Sugar Moon Designs and Everyday Chunky Alphas from FranB Designs!  This was really drawing myself out of my comfort zone.  But I think it turned out pretty well!  What do you think?

The story:  We got my son a Leap Pad 2 for Christmas.  It has a little video teaching the sounds of the letters and an app that teaches you how to write the letters by tracing the lines (and it is very specific, you can't skip or miss a dot!).  In about two weeks, he had mastered ALL the sounds of the letters and could trace all the letters.  About two weeks after that, he started writing letters on his doodle pad!!  He started with "A".  It's about 2 more weeks now (6 weeks total), and I know he can write A, B, b, C, c, D, H, I, i, M, m, R, O, o, P, p ALL by himself!!  He's not even 3 yet!!  I am one proud Mommy! :)

Blessed Love

It has been a while since I made myself a new Facebook cover photo.  With Valentine's Day next week, I decided to use that as my theme.  I got Timeline Pack 3 by AK Designs, and the February Lovely Colors by FranB Designs, called Forever.  I think it turned out pretty good.  I kept some of the shapes from the templates, which I don't normally do - but they fit :)

Moon Still Shines

I got a beautiful kit called The Moon Still Shines, by Mollyscraps.  So so beautiful!  It could be used for a variety of pics.  My initial intention was to scrap a romantic pic but decided to do the sleeping pics of Tristan :)

Sick But Sweet

When I saw Chicken Doodle Soup by Sugar Moon Designs, I instantly thought of my best friend's daughter, Luna.  She is such a sweet little girl, who unfortunately, is always sick. :(
