Pierce's Graduation

All the pictures are exactly opposite! Last one is at home, before, then on stage, then getting his 'diploma', then with it, then w/ Mrs. Hammer.
So Pierce graduated from his 1st year of preschool! Mrs. Hammer arranged for it to be at Discovery Elem (Logan's school) on the stage. It was really cute! He'll go back to her preschool again next fall; she lives a few blocks away & is FANTASTIC!!! They had a little program & everything - fun!

Tea Party!

So we went to the local 'bostonish' Tea Party on April 15th. Derek thought the boys should be involved as well and that it would be a good learning experience for them. Yeah, it was for me too: my kids will whine and complain no matter what's going on, they won't listen when I say "hey, put on a coat and grab some gloves", and Derek can be a real pain (we all knew that already) :) He just griped a little too much at the boys for my liking. Those flags WERE heavy AND huge so finally I made him take Logan's & he could take care of 2 thanks.
Anyhoo... it took place on the falls downtown near the memorial statue for veterans, and there was a pretty good turn out considering the weather (rainy and cold). I think it lasted right at an hour, but we were done at that point regardless! It's a good experience & show of our dislike for our government's policies and actions and behavior. We had the American flag, the Gadsden flag, & the Title of Liberty flag & the boys carried signs Derek made (he even made little handles on the inside so they could put theri hands thru & hold them easier).

Easter 2009

I'm not sure if the fam's seen the new posts since no one's commented on it (hint hint everyone), but I'm gonna go ahead & get caught up anyway . . . So I'm finally getting around to posting Easter - but, I figure it's better late than never right? On Saturday, I took the boys to the Easter Egg Hunt at Iona Park - this is the first year they've gone & it was great! - I also put 1 of the boys doing their eggs, and 1 after their 'loot' was found & enjoying it.

Logan the little Boy Scout!

Logan started Scouts in December, and he just loves it! I however, have no idea WHAT is going on, and for Cub Scouts, it's apparently the mother's job to help them w/ all their requirements for getting badges and patches and beads and pins and the like. So I had to inform Derek he would be doing all the things I didn't have time to do or didn't know how. I can help him this summer and we did go to a Cub Scout Expo 2 Saturdays ago and of course I forgot my camera- so he could complete some wierd requirements :).
This is of his Pinewood Derby race and the car that he really did A LOT of - they didn't actually do a winner (he wouldn't have won by a long shot) this year; Derek was a little peeved but considering there were a couple of cars that were not 'regulation' and cost a lot and came off the internet, I'm glad. Dontcha just love that smile? That's Logan!

Pierce's 4th Birthday

What a horrible mother I am! I haven't posted ANYTHING for over 5 months! Wow - I suck!
Here's Pierce's Birthday pics. He invited his class from preschool (there were only 9 in his class) & a few came. The picture I put on here of 3 boys is of Carter & James with Pierce - his bestest fiends! :) James lives 2 houses down, and Carter is Shera's boy that is the boys' sitter - she is AWESOME!
Anyway, we went to Blast-Off and Pierce got to do the birthday booth at the end where the balloons fly around the booth and you have to catch them (there's coupons inside). He had SO much fun! I love this age!
Of course, he had a Star Wars party - but not just any ol' Star Wars - it had to be the Troopers. Derek found or scanned or anyway, we printed a 4x6 card to go on the cake, and got some little trooper packs for the top and of course had plates, a banner & stuff. It turned out really well b/c the guy in the bakery at Wal-Mart was a Star Wars fan so when I explained I just wanted certain colors of frosting, he knew exactly what red and blue to use! Turned out great and all the boys had a blast!

Wrestling!

So Logan started wrestling this year - I think it was a good thing, but most of these kids at the tournaments have already been at it for over 4 years! Needless to say, he didn't ever win a match, but he did use his techniques really well, and I was proud of him for that. He cried after the second match he lost and I said rather abruptly, "There's no crying in wrestling - you got choked because you let him choke you. Suck it up and quit crying. Other than that you did a really good job and you did what you were supposed to do!" This was a tough sport (and a lot tougher on me than I thought it would be), but I think I was really saying some of it to myself (to not cry and suck it up) b/c it was awful to watch!!! He enjoyed it and wants to do it again next fall after football. I think he's decided he likes wrestling more than soccer, and it's an either/or deal. We'll see.
