annular solar eclipse

we drove to kanarraville  in order to watch the solar eclipse because it was supposed to be the 'sweet spot' in order to see the ring of fire just perfectly. it was so neat to slowly watch it happen and i thought it was so cool how much darker/cooler it got. now it wasn't like night-time or anything, but it just got kind of gloomy and dull outside. i am so happy i got to experience this rare phenomenon!

a few months ago my dad had business meetings in vegas so he brought my mom and brother down with him for a mini vacation. we stayed at the red rock resort on the west side of town. it was really  nice other than their blackjack table... we gambled a little bit, saw the fountains at the bellagio, thoroughly enjoyed the strawberry lemonade at the cheescake factory, a little shopping, and some people watching.

MGM Grand - Las Vegas

 i have always loved the eagles ever since i was a kid because my mom was always listening to them. i had never been to a live show before and was totally excited when mitch (alex's dad) told me he had bought me a ticket to their show in vegas! the show was at the MGM right on the strip and it is a beautiful resort. mitch was even nice enough to get me my own room there. 

best.show.ever.

i couldnt believe how perfect they sounded. everything was so harmonious and the music was beautiful. i didnt think i would ever love a live show more than 311 but i was wrong. this concert was by the far the best musical experience i have ever had. i was completely blown away. their music sounded so much better live than i had ever heard it anywhere else. i recorded a few songs and decided to upload 'hotel california' because honestly, who doesnt know & love this song? enjoy, and be jealous :]

i dont know what it is about the mountains or why i love them so much. i would imagine my mind associates the feeling of happiness with them because of all the time ive spent with my family deep in the woods around a campfire. or maybe it is the feeling of undisturbed tranquility that engulfs you while you are there.

alex and i took a sunday drive and this is where we ended up.

i headed californie way

sometimes i feel like i should have been born in california and been a beach bum my whole life. but then again, maybe since i have grown up in utah it makes the time i spend at the beach so much more special. i love the beach and will jump at any chance to visit there. i spent three days in california back in august and have been trying to plan another trip ever since i got back. i love going on vacation and love even more if it is with alex. we have so much fun together.

"..take me out to the ball game.."

san diego, ca

this was my first baseball game i had ever been to and it was such a good time! i loved the seventh inning stretch and getting to sing take me out to the ball game with the whole stadium. plus, have i ever mentioned how much i LOVE peanuts? especially when they are 8 bucks a bag at a baseball game.

a couple weeks ago i was able to make a quick trip home to see my family. its always nice when i can get a few days off work to go home and relax.

water canyon

in order to get here, you have to go through colorado city. i had passed by there before and seen from the highway how creepy their little town looks. but driving through there felt we were in a scene of a horror movie. that place is so weird.
