Glasgow Post-Christmas Party

With so many activities going on, the Glasgow Christmas party was held just a couple days after this year.  It was hosted by Dennis & Lona this year and had a Mexican theme for decorations and dinner.  The grandkids loved the piñata and gift exchange.  It was the perfect evening to spend time visiting with the Glasgow side of the family!

Christmas 2021

Another year has come and gone, and here we are at Christmas once again!  It was a wonderful Christmas eve evening with the Severtson side of the family over at JuLee's home this year -- Grandma Glasgow joined us for the festivities as well!  Then back home to wrap presents much of the evening...although this was the first year that we had many of them wrapped beforehand.  Christmas it a little different with all older kids who are returned missionaries or college graduates.  Garrett actually got home after we put all the presents out and the kids all slept in until 8am or so.  But we still had fun getting up and watching everyone open presents.  Then all the married kids came over by 10am and we had our traditional big breakfast.  Jonah called and we all spent time talking to him.  He surprised us with some great news that he's finally getting to go to his Trinidad mission and leaving to Georgetown Guyana in just a couple weeks which was exciting to hear!  Then the grandkids opened their presents and played.  Then Lexine and I ended the day with a wonderful visit to Grandma & Grandpa Porter.  What a wonderful, wonderful day to remember the Savior's birth and to be amongst such great family whom we love so dearly...Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday Noah!

This evening we celebrated Noah's birthday as we do every year just a few days before Christmas!  Once again this year, he had us take him to Texas Roadhouse for steak dinner!  It worked out perfect because his good friend Jessie was our waiter, which made the evening more fun!  Unfortunately we forgot to take a picture of Noah at dinner, but we got a couple afterwards when we got back home.  He had Donuts for his cake and then a surprise at our food from Joy Basso who sees Noah occasionally at the car wash and has always kept tabs on our family.  That topped off Noah's birthday evening just perfect.  Happy Birthday Noah...hope it was a great day for you!

Family Night at the Botanical Gardens

Maizey works at the Queen Creek Botanical Gardens and was able to swing us all discounted tickets to their Christmas lights and decorations!  All of us had planned to go, but in the end Kami & Tim and family were not feeling well so they were unable to join us, and after just a little bit, Violet got a little cold and fussy, so Porter & Amy left early.  But it was still a good time.  Little Miss Sadie enjoyed it a little too much and ran away from Bentley and Cal, so she wasn't too happy until Nana & Papa took her with them to walk around.  Papa put her on his shoulders to help keep her at our speed!  ;-) But we had a lot of fun with her walking around and riding the train!  It was a fun Christmas evening!

Gingerbread Man Decorating

Another of Lexine's family traditions is her gingerbread man decorating night which she held once again this evening.  This year it was primarily the grandkids who got into the fun, but I'm not sure if they enjoyed making them or eating them more!  What a fun evening -- Christmas will be here soon!

Lexine's Gingerbread House Night

Ever since we've been a family, each year around this time Lexine welcomes in the Christmas with a Gingerbread house building night.  Now 11 years later, even the spouses and grandkids are getting into the fun!  It was a wonderful evening altogether spending time as a family and seeing the homes everyone built! Its beginning to feel a like Christmas!
