Alex and I went romping in the leaves up Emigration and Big Cottonwood Canyon in the end of September. This year fall has been spectacular to witness. What an amazing world God has created.

Mom's birthday!

Mom was born in 56 and is 52 and Dad was born in 52 and is 56! Weird huh! Cute Mom looks sooo cute with bows in her hair. Hey that's a great style on you, Mom! We took her to the Mandarin and then got her a birthday cake. She's got to be the sweetest and kindest and best mom out there!

Kiddie Fair...what a blast!

This is the third year I've volunteered for the UNI Safe Kids Fair. As the service committee chair of the MSA (Medical Student Alliance)ie. medical student wives club...I got to help with the Faux Paw booth. Here we educate parents and kids about childhood internet safety. There is a cute story about how Faux Paw is approached by a cyberspace bully named Cursor. Here is me with Faux Paw. Fishing for Fun!

I have never been fishing in my life until this September. Well not counting watching Dad do a catch and release once at Lake Powell. My friend Joni took me to a very close but very secret great fishing hole in downtown SLC. Reeling and releasing is harder than you think. Those darn fishies didn't want to eat my scrumptious worms that day. (It was kind of cool and the water was very murky). It was very relaxing. I think I'll bring a book next time. Anyone else want to have a partner in fun fishing times?

Braves vs. Vikings '98

So since Alex and I both graduated in 1998 (that's really dating us now...) we both had our 10 year reunions this year. Viewmont's was okay. It was in the regular commons area with burrito bar and raffle drawing. I loved seeing everyone including Becca B., Mandy A., Lizzie J., and Melissa G. We just laughed and giggled all night. Bountiful's was fun. They catered it at the Eaglewood Gold Course clubhouse. We saw some great friends we haven't seen well forever. Abby and Jared were hooked up like us from the Bountiful Youth Council. They are expecting their second kid. Luke and Jessica were there. Also Michelle A. was a lawyer and Rob W. is still going strong with his political opinions. It was good to see the old gang.

Piping Hot!

We love to go to the Red Butte Gardens Family night concerts this summer. In August, we went to the Salt Lake Scots Bagpipes with our in-laws. It was a blast. Interestingly, both Adam and Sean can play the bagpipes too. You should hear them some time. They are truly amazing.

Sister bonding...

Heidi and I had our first manecure and pedicures in early August. It was so fun to talk and hang out with her before her 9th grade year. Wow, Heidi has sure grown up quickly!

Our wonderful BEV! is ....60!!!

Beverly is mom B.'s first cousin. She is from San Francisco and has lived here in Utah for 20+ years now. She just had her 60th birthday and we threw her a fun party on the roof of a downtown SLC penthouse. Wow was the party fun to see all of our B family relatives. Many came down from Idaho and one from law school at George Washington Univ. Bev has been to all 50 states and 32 countries outside the US. She is single and is the only child. We are basically her family. What a traveler she is. This fall she plans to travel to Vietnam. She is my ultimate example of staying positive and busy. She has such a cute and contagious laugh. We love her so very much! She now lives close to the Jordan River Temple.

Hiking Zions with our Highschool Friends Dave/Kara and Luke/Jessica

While dearie was studying hard and doing rotations around Primary Children's Hospital I went with some dear friends to Zions National Park. No sense feeling sorry for myself! We got to stay in Jessica's great aunt's condo at a country club. We were going to hike the Subway but at 4:30am we were too late to get the permits (grabbed at 3:00am!). So we had a blast just shopping around the Outlet malls and going to the St. George temple. The boys went golfing. We also played the funnest game I've played yet..."Settlers". Saturday the Aug.2 we went hiking up the Narrows in Zions. Instead we turned and went into Orderville Canyon. Here the water got up to our shoulders in some places. I have some bruises and scrapes that show how scary and hard the climbs were. What amazing memories we made. Anybody else want to hang out while dearie is studying???

Family Reunion

And while my parents and sister were in Alaska...my cousins and I went to the Brown Family Reunion in the first part of July. My grandma Mary Brown Larsen has a large family. I've always wanted to see where she grew up in Woodruff, Utah (by Evanston, WY). She was born in 1923. Here are some way cute pictures of her old farm home, barn, and land she used to live on. Wow no running water back then!

Family trip to Alaska!

Hi to our sweet family from Skagway, Alaska! It's Friday, more than half way through our wonderful cruise. Today was the highlight. We took a helicopter
flight over pretty, partial snow-covered mountains as well as lush green tree growth. We flew about 20 minutes to a remote dog sled camp on a wet, slushy, beautiful glacier filled with 280 barking dogs and 25 dog loving people. We even got to hold month-old puppies. We got to ride a dog sled pulled by 10 excited dogs. Dad and Heidi even got to mush. Mom enjoyed sitting on the sled watching this once-in-a-lifetime site. After the helicopter ride, we shopped in downtown Skagway. It has all been restored. It looks like the old west.

These past few weeks Alex has finally been doing rotations in the hospitals. He is glad to be free of the books for a while. He had a great time staying up late at night and working with patients at Primary Childrens' Hospital. He is so dedicated and puts so much time and heart into this. What a great doctor he'll become someday!!! We love dearie!

Mega Vacation June 2008!!

We went on a Carnival Cruise (Imagination was the ship) to celebrate after Alex took his Step 1 Medical school boards. These are really hard and he has been studying for 2 years for this. We went to Key West, Florida and Cozumel, Mexico. In Key West we explored in the morning taking a conch train and learned about the old towns and sites. I love that history! Then in the afternoon we went parasailing. Wow we sored really high and we were harnessed together. The next day in Cozumel, Mexico we went and swam with the dolphins. We hugged them, rode them, got pushed and splashed by them, and even smooched em. Wow, what an incredible experience!!

Tour of Fort Douglas Museum May 2008

In May 2008 we went to a little tour of the Fort Douglas Museum. It was amazing at how much history is in our backyard. What incredible courage those soldiers have. Here is dearie with a big tank. There are new shows and cool old stuff to check out. I am a huge fan of the really old stuff. Cool!!!!

Lisa's Reception and the BIG NEWS at the same time!

My sister Lisa got married in the SLC Temple on April 12, 2008. She and Jim are the cutest couple ever. They honeymooned at Walt Disney World and then live in Pleasant Grove, Utah in a home with a boat. She stays at home and is preparing for her new baby in January. We are happy for them. (Yes its been hard having her being instantly pregnant and I've waited 7 years and nothing but that is okay.) With faith we can get through anything with the Lord's help!

Las Vegas Trip March 2008

March 2008 We went to Las Vegas and had a blast. Alex and I went and saw the LDS Las Vegas Temple first and then we went to a bunch of casinos. There of course we didn't gamble but there were lots of fun roller coasters and acrobat shows and interesting things to see. It was good to be in a warm place after Alex's tough school exams.
