Reading Junkie

I know most parents would be thrilled that their child read 960 minutes in one week, but I am frustrated!! I cannot get Hay to do anything else. She reads before school, when she is suppose to be getting ready, she reads after school, when she should be doing her homework, and she reads at night, when she is suppose to be asleep. ARRG! Maybe I am just jealous. She is reading the Twilight series and is on the last book. Hopefully she will be done quickly!!!

Moving out

When Hay was younger, she would tell me she was never moving out. She would live with me until she was 25 and then when she got married, she would move right next door, so that she always could be close to me. Today E and I were getting ice out the freezer and she was commenting about all the meat we have (We had 1/2 a buffalo butchered). She said that we would probably have enough meat until she moved out. So I said, "So until you are 25?" And she said yep. Then Hay pipes in, "Does that mean I can't leave until then? I want to move out sooner than that!" I asked her, "Are you still going to live next door to me?" and she responded, "No, I will probably move to New York." As far away as possible. I was shocked! I thought she would always want to live next door. When did that happen? It's kind of sad when they don't want to be your baby anymore. I guess there is still hope with E.

Bad dog!

Miss is 13 years old and always has been an outside pet. This last summer her best bud, Dub, passed away. Miss cried and whined every night. It was really sad. When it started getting cold, I had the great idea of letting her come in at nights to sleep. She has done fantastic!! She has never had an accident. She lies on her dog bed and snores most of the time. A few weeks ago I caught her licking the dryer and then the next day she was licking the wall. I didn't think much of it until I woke up last week and found that she had eaten the wall in two places. Do you think it was out of boredom, or maybe she likes the taste of drywall? I still don't have the heart to kick her out. She is 91 human years old.
