Happy Day for the drivers of the house…

 

Look how happy! Steve and I brought this home today for our two drivers to share..well for the family, but they will get to drive it when we need them to.  Our house is so crazy lately that we no longer feel a 3rd vehicle is a want but a major necessity.  Steve spent a lot of time looking on line for 4 door sedans..then we found this.. I think it is adorable and will come in handy for those trips to the DI, trick-or-treating, hauling bark for the yard…etc… and only 3 people can fit inside at a time (no hauling a bunch of kids around). The girls were so excited they had it cleaned and washed within 20 minutes of seeing it.

I am feeling much sadness at the thought that the end of an era so to speak, has come. My last child entering “all day” school. I can’t believe how fast time flies. Unfortunately, at this point in my life all day school is a blessing.  With my schooling it has been challenging to get kids where they need to be at the right times..picked up at the right times etc..

Seriously, I want to keep this picture in my mind forever…I want to stop time. They will be big before I know it. I don’t want to miss anything!

It has been a very long since I have seen the two sets of parents together.

I just happened to text mom to see where they were.  They were in Payson, just getting out of a movie.  I told them we were also in Payson and they should stop by. It was nice of them to come and visit with Joe and Karleen even for just a few minutes.  Joe really appreciated it.

Kelly, Kelsey, Matt, and Lora are in town for the week.  Nice visit, good food and laughter. 

Hopefully we will see them again before they leave town at the end of the week.

I love quilting..but really??

These pictures make me laugh! I love to quilt, but obviously my love for it doesn’t even come close to the obsession this person has! I thought I had accomplished a lot this weekend, in the middle of my busy school/work life when I finished my block of the month square the day after I picked it up and I finished piecing the main part of Ashlyn’s quilt and put the first border on…oh well, baby steps for me…

Attention Defecit Disorder...

Sitting, sitting, sitting for hours and hours. My 2nd semester of nursing school has begun. I do love this program but really, 5 hours of lecture every Thursday? I hope I will be able to stay focused for such a long stretch of time. This is especially long for a person that gets a little, ok a lot, ADD with any one project.  This may be why I like the idea of nursing so well, never doing the same thing for long periods of time so I guess I have to endure...for the time being...back to class...ok, I never really left class.....back to "listening"....

Finally back home from SL Regional.  Yesterday was very long and is now quite painful. I told Steve that if I ever start talking about getting any type of surgery, elective surgery etc, to remind me of the pain. I truly don't think it is worth the pain. Unfortunately this was not elective so i didn't have a choice.  Get the surgery or keep getting sick.

I scheduled my cholecystectomy at Salt Lake Regional, downtown Salt Lake for a reason, that being I wouldn't know anybody.  Since I work at Pioneer Valley Hospital and I am in school with people that work at Pioneer Valley, Jordan Valley Med Ctr and SL Regional, I thought I was safe going all the way downtown to have this done so I wouldn't run into anybody I know.  Not two minutes after registering, we were walking to the pre-op room when one of my fellow classmates walked around the corner.  Dang it! There are only 2 people in my nursing class that works at SL Regional and of course as luck would have it, he was working, and to top it off, he was the one that started my IV and did my blood work.  Oh well, so much for not having anybody see me.

All in all the surgery went well, although as much as I like being in the hospital, I would rather be working and not be the patient.  I enjoy anesthesia until it comes time to wake up.  I don't do well with that part.  It makes me sick. I felt really bad because I was the last patient of the day and I was holding my nurse up from going home, I couldn't pee, one of the requirements before release, and I kept getting dizzy and nauseated.  Finally 8 hours after being admitted we were able to go home.  I must say though, that hospital was great! Every single person I talked with was extremely nice and happy.  It makes me realize how important being nice to the patients in my own job is.

So, I have three little incisions, 2 up under my right chestal area and a nice big one on my belly button.  The surgeon said he would fix my herniated belly button and he said he would try to take away one of the big wrinkles around it.  He asked me before going in where that wrinkle came from and I said birthing 4 babies.  It use to be a stretch mark but is now so squished up it looks like a big wrinkle. Uuugllly! I can't tell yet if it looks better, things are still really swollen.  Just keeping my fingers crossed.

My family has been really great. Steve is being so attentive and asking me all of the time if there is anything I need etc. he even brought me flowers.  My kids are doing the same. Megan texted me and asked me what kind of Baskin Robbins icecream I wanted. So thoughtful! I love them! They are great.  My neighbors are really awesome too.  Dinner tonight and dinner tomorrow night.  And friends have been texting and calling to see how I am. Thank you!
