A little story....

Because we have been boxing stuff up to show the house without extra stuff everywhere, we have talked to Emma about moving. So two weeks ago, I thought I would get a book about moving from the library. I found one by Little Critters, did not read it there, but with Emma at home. This was the WORST book ever to read to a child about moving. It put a ton of fears into her mind and made things 10 times worse. Emma was not the same child for a few days, and so Jeff and I sat down and we asked/listened to her feelings about moving. All her fears were associated with this book, we talked through each one and she seemed so much happier.

So this past week, the awesome Humphries family came over (Andy and two of his sons) to work on some repairs and when Emma saw them she worriedly said, "Are they here to take my toys?" (straight from this book) I told her they were not and she was so relieved! Went back to playing and I thought to myself, I guess the fear is still slightly there. Moral of the story, read the library book before you read it to your children and carefully study the drawings, I had paraphrased the book even, but the pictures spoke volumes to Emma about how the children felt!

Happy Fathers Day

Emma made Jeff this tie for Fathers Day (2013)! She was so excited to give it to him!

We got donuts together yesterday to celebrate Jeff and this picture is of Juliet wishing her Daddy a Happy Fathers day and me wishing him one too! :) WE LOVE YOU JEFF!!!!

Happy Fathers Day to so many wonderful men in my life.

Jeff
I am thankful to have an amazing Father for my little girls, he is everything a Father should be to his children. He never ceases to amaze me with Emma and I have to pinch myself sometimes because I know how blessed I am to have someone like him as my eternal companion to raise our children together. Seriously not enough thoughts could be written to describe the kind of man my husband is, I count myself very blessed!

My Dad
I am thankful for my own Dad, who  has been there for me countless times. I think some of my favorite memories are the trips we took just the two of us and all the Daddy daughter dates we went on growing up. My Dad did so much to make sure I was safe growing up, one time he was worried because I had a job downtown and had to get off work at 11 pm. So he drove down there to wait for me, just to make sure I was safe. I felt so loved that night. He has done things like that my whole life. He calls me weekly and shows me that my relationship with him is important. Love you Dad!

My Father-in-law (also Dad)
I am grateful to have married into the Honeycutt family, because my father-in-law, is a wonderful man and especially kind to me, I just love him! He has a way of making me feel special and I loved when I got to spend a weekend with him and Mom in California, I had the best time. Not to mention I am so grateful he taught my husband so many wonderful things throughout his life! :)

Happy Fathers Day to all the wonderful men and most of all to my Heavenly Father who is simply perfect, my love for him is eternal and I am grateful I have always felt his presence in my life!!!

Random thoughts and updates...

Today has been a productive day and it is not over yet.... I have worked on sorting through the last two buckets of random stuff, organized a huge bucket of mail and random papers, packed some more boxes, organized/threw away some of Emma's barbie stuff (most of it used to be mine and was in disrepair, but it was a trip down memory lane), made some Navajo Fry bread for Navajo tacos for dinner and some chocolate cupcakes for Fathers Day tomorrow.

Jeff painted all the rest of our doors with a paint sprayer, and spent hours hauling dirt to the backyard to fill the old oil tank we had cleaned out this week so it is safe and we can keep our homeowners insurance (we had no idea it was on our property). What a Fathers Day weekend, not much rest for either of us, but we have to get this house packed up, projects done so we can put it up for sale ASAP!

Did I mention Juliet is coming in 10 days, excited, overwhelmed, nervous, some anxiety is the best way to describe how we feel about the impending C-section.  Though my body is definitely preparing me for labor, she might try and come sooner, I have had so much lower back labor pain and sciatic nerve pain this last week. I am hoping I can make it through at least the first or second hour of church tomorrow.

My Mom is an angel and helped me today by working on my laundry and sorting through  other random things that have piled up. She is such a blessing, it motivated me because all I wanted to do was hangout in bed!

It is funny, overall in life I feel blessed, I trust my Heavenly Father even through these last nine months of various hardships like pregnancy sickness (I lived through that) and we are still surviving unsteady employment, though the Lord is AMAZING and continues to help us meet our needs.

I look at last summer compared to right now and I feel blessed. I have so many friends here now, I love our home (most of the time), I love our ward, I love the idea of moving even though I go back and forth because staying here has benefits and we don't know where we will be ending up. I love being at home with Emma, I am crazy about her and Jeff. They mean so much to me.

I just wish we had a more set plan (we are both planners, so living life on the fly does awful things to us), we know where we want to be, we have a general idea of how we are going to get there and we have a TON of unanswered questions (this keeps me up at night, along with the baby pressing on my bladder).

There is lots of pressure to sell our house right now while the market here is hot and we can get a decent selling price. We can't share our plans with others because, we have no idea what they are or how they are going to come together. So why drag everyone's emotions all over the map when we can just keep it to ourselves, plus I want to know what God thinks of our plans before I get everyone else in my head trying to persuade me to what they think.

Being nine months pregnant and trying to pack up a house is exhausting, because we also have to finish the rest of the house projects pronto and luckily we still have contract work for Jeff going so we can survive financially, but this means time is short for getting these projects completed. Not having anyone reliable to finish the projects for us is a problem. And wondering how we are going to make ends meet and get this house done so we can sell it is tiring. I feel for my husband, because the pressure is more on him then me right now.

I am just grateful I have what really matters to me. A personal faith and love for my Savior Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. I am grateful I have enough trust to hand all my worries over to him and trust he has a plan for us and will honor Jeff's hard work to provide for our family. We have done everything we could do that is in our power and so now we just have to see how the Lord will orchestrate where he wants us and how!

I have had to go back MANY times to the night we prayed about having Juliet, I could never deny the spirit that I felt so strongly when I prayed about getting pregnant, it has sustained me so many times during this pregnancy and all these life changes.

Contemplating selling most of what we have and our home is tough sometimes for me, but these things are not everything to me. The only reason we are selling things is to be able to live in a smaller space comfortably. I like having three bedrooms and I love my piano, so I don't relish the thought of downsizing to a two bedroom apartment or selling my piano.  Being with Jeff, Emma and Juliet is what means the most to me and it does not matter if it is a smaller house, apartment, in another state or here, as long as I have my little family I know I can be happy. I take comfort in this thought.

I also see how Heavenly Father is blessing us in a million ways. For example, we needed a baby swing and we got one for free from a friend at church, we needed a double stroller and the money we got from the baby shower helped us purchase one for a great price on sale. We have a great Realtor to help us sell our home and we found out we can qualify to purchase another home as soon as Jeff finds a full time job. So this is comforting, we have a fun idea that excites both Jeff and myself and so I feel blessed with all these things and more.

The one thing I feel guilty for is my daughter is struggling with moving, she keeps telling me she does not want to move and why. I remember all the times my parents moved me from places I loved and so it intensifies the guilt! Our goal is to provide stability for her where we do move, with a more set routine and a way for her to play outside more. She has so many changes and adaptions to make these next few months, I feel for her. It is not going to be easy adapting to having a baby in the house, I have worked on so many ways to make this transition easier on her, but moving  has thrown me for a loop! So pray for us, we are going to need it!

I think this sums up my crazy life right now!

A Must Try Recipe My Family Loves...

I am a buzz agent and I receive free products to try out. This time I signed up to try Filippo Berio Olive oil. Last night for dinner I busted out the new bottle and made one of my new recipes that my Mom, Jeff and Emma love. So I decided to share the yummy recipe with you.I found the original recipe on the Lofthouse blog, but adapted it to ingredients I have and I used chicken instead of flank steak. The olive oil tasted great when I tried it after the chicken was cooked all the way.

Chinese Chicken
1st step: Make your rice, I use brown jasmine rice in the rice cooker, it takes about 45 minutes. So I don’t start cooking the meal until it has been at least 25 minutes.

Ingredients
Fillippo Berio Olive Oil
Chicken
Pepper and garlic powder for seasoning chicken

Mix the below ingredients using a whisk, before cooking the chicken…
½ cup orange juice
¼ cup dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons Asian chili sauce
Ground ginger (I sprinkle in maybe three times worth of it, over it)
2 teaspoons of cornstarch

Directions
I cut up raw chicken breast into smaller pieces, and put in the skillet on medium high heat and I added Filippo Berio olive oil and sprinkled pepper and garlic powder. Then once the chicken is done and white throughout, I add the sauce until it thickens, around 2-3 minutes. Then I take the steamed broccoli (you could also use a stir fry mix) and add to the chicken and sauce. Serve over rice, it is so yummy!

A Review About Lysol Touch of Foam Soap....

ADDITIONAL NOTE: I get this FREE, because I signed up to be a Buzz Agent! If you are interested in becoming one (totally free to sign up), go to www.buzzagent.com

Okay, so my family has been trying this Lysol Touch of Foam product for two weeks now and here are my thoughts on it.

1) The scent bothered me at first and Jeff, but it does not anymore. So it has grown more on me!  Jeff still hates it.

2) The foam action is great for Emma, she loves the bubbles for washing her hands

3) It does feel soft, but since I am using it all day long from so many trips to the restroom, since being in my third trimester, I do feel it is drying my hands out. Jeff said it is drying out his skin as well.

4) I am not as into the antibacterial soap because of the research about how your body can build resistance and then when you do need it for sickness, etc... it is not as effective.  Not sure if this is the true, but I do like having some in the house for when sickness does strike. So for that purpose this does work.

5) I like the bottle it is in, easy to work and not so tough for a toddler to use as well, compared to other bottles.

6) I do trust the Lysol Brand

So I would say this is a fair product review, I don't love this product, but I don't not like it. Has anyone else used it? What are your thoughts?

Dear Juliet...

(Warning, this post is really for Juliet and I am quite honest about the discomforts of my pregnancy, don't read if you don't want so much information.)

Dear Juliet,

It is about time for your Mother to sit down and write you a letter. I have wanted to write you sooner, but this pregnancy has kept me on my toes. I have spent the last four months being sick.

Deciding to have you....
Back in September, Daddy and I were talking about our future and we were plotting out when would be a good time to add another little one to our family. So we both prayed individually about it. It took ALL the COURAGE I had to even pray about it. My pregnancy with Emma and the postpartum was so challenging the very thought of going through it again made me want to hide in the closest and never come out. So I prayed and I brought all my fears to the Lord and asked him if it was his will that we have another one, I felt the spirit from the top of my head to my toes in the strongest sense I knew you needed to come to our family. We tried for a week and then learned your Dad was losing his job.Can you imagine what we were feeling?

We stopped trying figuring we would try again once he had steady employment and insurance again, but five weeks later on Halloween found out we were expecting a baby. Despite not having employment, I felt a sense of peace which I know is from the Lord, because , we decided to go to Tennessee and see if it is where we eventually want to end up (really we hoped to move right away and make job contacts, but after prayer and studying out the pros and cons, staying here seemed like the right course of action).

All our savings have went to paying Cobra Insurance (S500 a month) and we are dipping into our 401k to cover the rest of the cost, so don't say we never spoil you in the future (just kidding, you are worth more than any amount of money on earth). We do love Tennessee and have eventual goals of moving there.

The day we got back, Daddy got a call for a temp-to-hire job at a great company doing accounting, the pay is a bit lacking while he is a temp, so we will see what they offer at the end of the contract but we are so thankful for the work and that it is in his field! He has been excelling there and they already promoted him to a more advanced accounts team and have told him they want to hire him. He is thrilled about it and the work is challenging.

Figuring Out Your Name...
One day, we were thinking of names in November and we went to a party and I met a girl named Juliet and she was lovely, we hit it off and on the way home, I told Daddy, "What about Juliet if it is a girl?" He agreed it was beautiful and he loved it. So then we were thinking up names for the middle and he said, "It would be cool if we could find a middle name starting with "S", because then she would have my initials and be named after me." As more brainstorming went on, Daddy mentioned we should make sure your middle name means something great, like wisdom to balance your first name that means youthful. So we got curious and looked up wisdom for baby names and it was Sophia! It fit exactly what we wanted and you have your Daddy's initials and it sounds beautiful together. Your name felt right and I was so excited for it that I hoped I would get to use it!

Finding out you were a girl...
We decided to have a "Find Out the Gender Party," We invited all our friends and so many people came. The Ultrasound Tech put what we were having in an envelope and I took it sealed to Aunt Lindsay who made a beautiful cake. For weeks, on Facebook we took down everyone's votes, majority thought you were going to be a girl. We had two drawings, one for our friends out of Jacksonville and another for all our friends who came to the party to win a Red box gift card and candy. Doing it this way really was exciting and it was wonderful sharing this special moment with all our family and friends. When we cut into the cake and learned you were a girl I was ecstatic and cried from all the emotion I felt.  We later did a happy dance singing your name out loud! I found you the most beautiful french provincial dressers that we are going to paint.

I always thought having a sister would be wonderful and Emma is over the moon to have a sister. I hope both of you will always be close and best friends. I love my brothers, so I would have been happy to have a boy too, but I am thrilled I get to reuse all the cute girl stuff and I just picture both of you playing together and it makes me excited.

Realities of Pregnancy

Constant nauseous is my companion and never having much of an appetite. Back in November, it was just nauseous, then we took a trip to Tennessee in December and I got so sick it was miserable. I had a urinary track infection (did not know it for two weeks), sore throat, lost my voice, cough, fever, chills, threw up everyday multiple times, exhausted, I was still breastfeeding your sister Emma and everything was taking a toll on me and I am sure you. I had no idea how to wean Emma.

Emma was so concerned about me, asking everyday when I was going to the Doctor. When I finally went and got some relief, the Doctor told me I had to stop breastfeeding Emma. I told Emma what the Doctor said and she replied, "It is okay Momma." From that day on she stopped breastfeeding for my sake and this act of kindness deeply moves me, her great love and empathy, her desire to make sure we are okay. She was barely two and shows remarkable depth of character.  The next morning, Emma was half asleep and was making the motion for wanting my milk and I reminded her I could not and she quickly said, "I don't need it Momma, I am okay."  She has told me several times she misses it and then follows up with its the baby's turn! See how sweet :)

Emma also talks to you daily and is trying to teach you to say Dada, she sings you songs, tells you she loves you, tells me "Juliet is my friend Mommy, I love her."  She lit up when we found out we were expecting and that you were a girl!  she also shows you her toys and is proud to be a big sister, I don't think a baby could have a better bigger sister! Her love for you makes everyday even more special and we are so excited to meet you.

Okay, so I was fine for about a week after everything cleared up and then the throwing up started daily and it was difficult to go through, especially seeing Emma's reaction every time it happens. About three weeks ago, a friend recommended I try some essential oil from Do Terra, called Digestzen and it works like magic. It stopped me from throwing up and then I lost it for a week and everything came back immediately, so I know this stuff works and I am so thankful.

Then this past week everything hit the fan, Emma got the flu from someone at church, it came in on Tuesday and it was awful seeing her so sick, then by Wednesday Morning I got it, by Wednesday night I had lost 4 lbs and  showing all the signs of being dehydrated. So your awesome Daddy called the Doctor again and told her what was happening and she basically said, bring her to the hospital right away. We went (I felt a little foolish, I don't know why). After hooking me up to an IV, checking my blood and urine, they said it was a good thing I came in when I did! So your Daddy is inspired and I am so glad. The IV fluids and stuff for my stomach they gave me is amazing and I was released the next day at 11 AM, being able to function, not throwing up (I could not hold down anything previously), I just have terrible diarrhea (I know so much information, I don't want to forget my suffering, you are the last child I am having, the high risk is too much for me).

So now you have a good account of the reality of pregnancy, I figure this will comfort you when you are pregnant, or at least have sympathy for me when you are ever frustrated with me (haha).

Things that I LOVE about being Pregnant
I also have loved every time I get to hear your heartbeat, seeing you on the ultrasounds makes my heart giddy, you are so dear to me already and I am thrilled to be your Mommy. At night, when the house is still, I feel you moving inside of me and the love just washes over me. You were so cute relaxing on the ultrasound with your legs crossed spread out and arms behind your head, it makes me smile every time I think about it.
Despite all the pregnancy fears, discomforts I have endured and will yet endure I am so excited about your existence, you are very wanted, loved and adored already!

I am glad to have the blessing of you. Being human, I lose sight of the end goal sometimes and the blessings yet to come, which is holding you, raising you and watching you achieve your greatest potential. I am excited to see who you are. Being a Mother is like opening a present with hundreds of layers of wrapping paper, getting eventually to the core of who you are. One layer at a time, I discover new things about my child and it is exciting to see what makes you, you. The Lord gives us all different gifts and each family needs what each person has been given to function and make each other more fit for his kingdom. I am excited to discover what he has endowed you with and I am hoping to help you become all you are meant to become.

Everyone in the extended families is super excited for your arrival and already loves you dearly!

Love, Mommy

Kind of a Rant :)

We are having another precious little girl and we are THRILLED!!!! Juliet Sophia is coming in June.

So Jeffrey Honeycutt has been a superman lately. With my pregnancy being so fickle everyday (thank goodness for essential oils and Gatorade that have prevented the throwing up for the last 4 days whoot, whoot)! Jeff has really stepped up in the kitchen and has been making dinner most nights and even baking yummy things. I have to say he is awesome at it too and I think it has been nice for him to learn just how super talented he is at baking and cooking. He used to feel a bit inadequate in this arena.  :)

He seriously can to so many things, he amazes me and this is my way of thanking him, oh and I appreciate all the non-convenient things he does on a daily basis, he deserves to have offspring because he is wonderful.  :)  He got up and changed a seriously poopy diaper at 1 AM, because I could not stomach it and he gets up at 5:00 AM every weekday.

I just have to say, I think as a partner in a relationship, if we focus on all the wonderful things our spouses do for us daily then we will see what great people we married. If someone dwells on the negative then you won't be as happy and you will take the wonderful person you married for granted (aside from people who abuse their partner or have serious addictions (I could see how that would badly impact a marriage/relationship and how someone should )).

I think always seeing the good in every situation is what makes life more bliss, especially in such a scary world that we live in now. I hope people don't feel bad when others (myself) talk positively about their spouses and compare them to their own partners flaws. I hate it when people do that, each person is so unique, God looks at who we are and does not compare us to anyone but ourselves.

Are we better today then we were yesterday and if not, we should improve ourselves. Who cares if you are not as saintly as your sister, etc... You have your own divine gifts and talents, focusing on becoming the best you is what is most important.

I know this is a bit of a rant, but someone said I should not post this because I might make other people feel bad if their spouse does not do what Jeff does. To that I say, we all need to praise that which is praiseworthy.  By doing so we let the world know what is truly praiseworthy.  If we let convenience, fear of offending, and the cunning nature of advertisers dictate what is praiseworthy we will quickly find ourselves... oh wait, right where society is now.

I LOVE hearing about what your awesome spouse does for you and what you do for them. I think in a world FILLED with divorce, why not celebrate marriages that are working!

Marriage is fragile, it has to be cultivated and appreciated, it is hard work on both sides, it is about forgiveness and starting over when need be. Some divorces are warranted, I know of one right now that is, but most are just stupid it is because of selfishness of one or both of the partners. Coming from a divorced family now, I know first hand the terrible effect divorce has on children and it makes me sad. Fight for your marriage everyday if you have one, don't let it get to that sad point.

Can you tell I am pregnant and becoming my more opinionated self!

I would love to hear what wonderful things your spouse/partner or a good friend has done for you lately! Feel free to share :)

Updated Family Photos

I have an amazing friend, Tara Rhodes, if it were not for her, we would not have awesome family photos to post. When we were in Tennessee, she volunteered to take our pictures, and she did it just because. I love her and I think she is super talented! If you live in Tennessee then you are lucky enough to be able to call her anytime to get your photos taken!

Our fun news!

Emma is so excited to be a big sister! We found out on Halloween that we were expecting, she beamed with so much excitement and ever since then, she kisses my stomach everyday and talks to the baby. She loves to show the baby toys. It helps me stay excited when I have been absolutely miserable.  Though today, I have felt pretty amazing! I just wish I could be the girl that only has a bump, I feel like I fill out all over and it adds to my misery! I don't think these last few months of pregnancy would have been so bad, had I not been so sick with a cold, cough, losing my voice, and two other pregnancy related things happening all together made it so much worse.

The baby seems to be thriving and that makes me so happy!  Jeff and I both are content to have two children, because of all the risks I have during pregnancy. I am considered high risk and have to go to extra doctor visits, though I have gotten THREE ultrasounds so far, that makes it better and I love the high risk doctor! I really, honestly don't care either way what we are having, I see major blessings with either gender, I just want to know, so I can start calling baby by their name and yes we have both names picked out either way.

In other news...
Jeff has a temporary job that could possibly turn permanent, so that is nice and we think we will actually be in Jacksonville now longer. My brothers gave some compelling reasons why we should stay. Financially it is so much better to stay and will keep us out of debt. Jeff is applying to a Graduate program here and we checked the market and it is not a good time to try and sell our house. We also have been having fun inviting other families over to play games and so that is always awesome!

We do plan on moving to Tennessee, as soon as Jeff graduates and we have enough experience to get an amazing job there!

Emma is learning so much and growing so fast, she is such a joy. I have been inspired so much lately and have made changes that are really aiding Emma's spiritual growth and helping with family routines. I will blog about that soon, for now, fair well, feel free to leave a comment.... :)

Emma Turned TWO!!!

Jeff and I are seriously contemplating  moving to Tennessee, when we were there, I just felt good about it and I felt fine leaving our house. Then I get home and I see our home and I love it and I have to get brave all over again, but I do want Jeff to experience going to UT and I had a great feeling when we were on the campus, it just felt right. Big decisions are always a little frightening because there is so much at stake. I just have to think, where do we want to end up in the long run and that makes it easier.

Emma turned TWO! I am so amazed at how fast time goes by, her party was a big hit and she still talks about it daily. She loved everything about it and that means a lot to me, I spent so much time on it and stressed Jeff out a bit because of it, but we both agree it was worth it!Everyone who came made us feel so loved and she looked beautiful in her little birthday outfit. Many times as a Mom, I sit back in awe of the little girl Heavenly Father blessed me with and my heart aches with a heaviness to think of all the Mom's who have suffered the loss of their children, especially recently.

Here are some highlighted photos from her party.

She had TWO parties! One for the toddlers in the morning and we had 11 children there including two babies, plus parents. Then we celebrated that night with many friends and family who always make Emma feel loved all year round. I could not have asked for sweeter children to attend church with, they always make Emma happy on Sunday. Two weeks ago, she had five kids (all different ages) by her side running all over the church with her, it made my heart happy to see her engaged and loving being with her friends. I pray she always makes friends this easily, especially the right friends like she has now!

This is her gift bag, each child received one. Girls got their own Minnie Bow, Nail Polish, chapstick, bracelet, Emma's favorite candy (M&M's, Sour Patch Kids, Sucker and Fruit Snacks), and stickers  . Boys got a bow tie, stickers, a Mickey spin top and all the same candy. Lindsay, told me my nephew Cameron was thrilled with his goody bag, he was sick and unable to come to the party and was excited when she told him I gave it to him. That boy melts my heart.

Emma's Minnie Cupcakes! So in love with how it turned out!

One of two centerpieces

Minnie and Daisy came to her party and Emma LOVED going and standing by them!

I LOVE her birthday outfit, Jeff let me splurge on buying her this cute outfit, doesn't she look like an angel!

So we had balloons fall when they got to the Dance party. We did the entire show, they had Mousekatools (I made the cutest toodles) to help them get to the dance party, along the way they fished, made Mickey puppets, colored and then danced to the hot dog song! It was so much fun and Emma was enthralled. When her cousin Alyssa showed up, I think Emma was in heaven. She adores Alyssa and they had so much fun together, even after the party. Watching them reminds me of all the fun I had with my AWESOME cousin Katie!! Love you Katie!!!

The beautiful ceiling my husband created for me, this is using plastic tableclothes, cheap, but stunning!

My Cupcake Tower

So here is the desert spread, I made Pluto Sticks (Chocolate dipped sticks), A cake that Emma adored, (though I wish I had better decorating skills), Emma still talks about it so that makes everything awesome!

Other Menu items:
Pete's sandwiches
Chip and Dale's Chips and Dip
Daisy's Carrots (with ranch dip)
Hot Dogs, Hot Dogs, Hot Diggity Dogs (Corn dogs)
Minnies "Bow-tie" pasta!
Clarabelle's Moo Milk
Daisy's Juice
Minnie's Pink Lemonade

I made her several posters and this is one of them, the best part is I can use it for other birthdays! Yea!!!
For more pictures you will have to go to my Facebook page. I have to many pictures for this blog to handle. I hand colored for weeks several pictures of Minnie and her pals, and decorated around the room with them. When I brought home the flowers, Emma asked, "Are those for me Mommy?" When I told her they were, she lit up! It was so endearing. I am so blessed to have my angel with us and she makes everyday special!
