Christmas Outfits

Here are a few Christmas pictures of us. We love our new camera so much we just took pictures at home and had them printed in the sizes we wanted instead of going somewhere and having the boys cry for a photographer there. I am realizing more and more why I love our new camera. The old one couldn't blow up pictures to an 8x10, but this one did it no problem.
Aren't they cute in their Christmas outfits! My dad built the sled. Such a fun prop for pictures.
Evan picked these hats out for them when we were shopping one day. Evan had to get an Adult, and Kyle is in a 3T I believe. They have huge heads.

Our New Child

Okay, no picture, but fun news. Up until today we have had a son named "Edan." As of this afternoon, his name switched and it is Evan. It is a very pronounced "v" because he is trying real hard to get it right and it is very cute. We're working to try to have him understandable by kindergarten, and today was some definite progress. He was so excited to finally get it we called Grandma and Pepa (grandpa) and Tay (Aunt Katie).

Out with November, On to December

Believe it or not Kyle and Gavin (my cousin's little boy) are not the same age. Gavin is four months older than Kyle, but they are within about a pound of eachother. You can tell Gavin looks a little more toned and he is a little taller. Kyle looks.....round.
A new Cabela's just opened in Lacey and while we were there for our second visit Camo Santa arrived. Of course we waited in line with all the other mothers and children while the men shopped. I think they had the line move slow just so that the guys had more time to explore and spend money. After a good 30 minutes the boys finally got their turn. Evan told Santa he wants a dinosaur for Christmas. Luckily Santa was paying attention and Evan should be getting just what he wants Christmas morning. Kyle didn't say what he wanted, but he didn't cry either, so we'll take it.
Evidence that Bryce and Camille really were here. Kyle and Evan had fun playing with them, and Evan still says he wants to do things "just like Uncle Bryce." He has clothes he thinks look like Bryce and he repeats random things that supposedly Bryce and "Teal" said while they were here.
I think Evan is trying to figure out what it is Kyle is saying. It takes a lot of deep thought to figure that out, but it looks like it may have been a funny joke.
Evan got to feed Kyle a bottle for the first time this week. He was very excited, but I think Kyle looks a little terrified.

The 1st Annual Gingerbread House Competition

We started a new Warning Family tradition this year. We were in three teams, and I'm pretty sure our team won.It was pretty intense. Notice how detailed Brandon is trying to be.
Evan was a little less detailed, but he decorated that gingerbread man all by himself and was very proud (as were we). He got to stick all kinds of candy to the house which he loved, and he was sure to sample everything so that nothing yucky went on our house.

The Results

Team 1: Bryce and Camille

They attempted to make a duplex, but it turned it to a trashy little part of town. The two on the left are huddled around a coke can fire, the man on the roof is smoking, and on the right apparently he lost his keys and couldn't get in to use a toilet. I did think the man in the peppermint wheelchair was cute.

Team 2: Mom, Dad, and Katie

Of course Dad couldn't just make it on the board it came on, he had to cover some cardboard in foil so as to not hamper their creativity. This is the back of their house. The front door was swung open to make it look more inviting. Their house turned out okay, but not quite as good as....

Team 3: Brandon, Becca, and Evan (Kyle was sleeping)

Evan decorated the snowman, gingerbread man, and tree out front. Brandon came up with the frosting icicles which were a nice touch. I got to pave the front entryway. A true team effort. Evan also decorated the roof, which you can't see in this picture as well, but he gave it firetruck sirens across the top. I think we win, and since nobody else is here to vote, it is official.

O' Christmas Tree

We broke tradition and got our Christmas tree the day before Thanksgiving this year. It worked out better for getting us all out together, so off we went.
Evan enjoyed bringing Leo, my parent's dog. He did give up the leash when he started tripping over tree stumps while we wandered around looking for the perfect tree.
Kyle was not as enthusiastic. Luckily Aunt Tay (Katie) was there to carry him so I could help in the hunt.

Once we found the perfect one the boys were manly and chopped it down. Evan loved getting to help with that this year.
Evan got a safe distance away once the tree was close to falling over, but he stepped in to help carry it out. I'm sure Brandon enjoyed that extra help carrying/stepping on the tree.

6 Months Old

Here are a few pictures of Kyle from the past month. He has now passed the 20 pound mark. As of this morning he is 20 lbs. .6 oz, 27.5 inches long, and his head is past the 95th percentile. I'm sure it is all the brains in there.
He has discovered that his mobile is quite fascinating.
He has developed an interest in coke (no need to worry, the can was empty and we made sure he didn't get his little fingers in there to get cut).
The coke has not been good for his figure. Note the three rolls on his side. We are working on developing a work out plan for him so he can tone up.
Of course, he is still amused by Evan, and Evan by him.

Hands On Children's Museum

About a month ago I took Evan to the HOCM in Olympia. He loved it. We discovered a few potential careers while we were there.
Flagger/Construction worker
Doctor/Radiologist (I'm pulling for that and supporting Mom and Dad in their old age)
Shark Tamer/Marine Biologist
Sidewalk Entertainer
Kyle discovered no such careers and thought the whole thing was a little boring.

My Craftiness

As promised two weeks ago, here are the stocking pictures. Those of you who know me probably know I'm not that crafty, so I'm proud of myself for actually making these (although they do come in a kit, I don't just make up what they look like). Anyway...here they are.




Also, I actually went to our Super Saturday activity this morning and created these two things. The trees are cuter in person, and I still have to go get the stars for the top (they ran out), but they turned out all right. Very fun!

Simpsonized!

As you can see we were quite busy this morning. We decided to take pictures of ourselves and put them into the Simpsonizeme website to see what we would look like as Simpson characters. We had so much fun seeing what Brandon looked like we did the whole family. We think they did a pretty good job.Brandon

Happy Halloween

Our little zoo animals showing off their costumes for Grandma and Grandpa.
Evan trick-or-treated to half of our development before I decided it was cold and he had plenty of candy. We came back in and he stripped down so he could check out his loot. This was his under the costume outfit. When we got back I dressed Kyle so I could go show the neighbors, hence he is in costume and Evan is not.
Daddy and Evan got all of the candy sorted and made sure it was all safe. If you look close you see someone was handing out granola bars.

Kyle finally learned to roll over yesterday, with a little incentive. He actually learned to roll over in the afternoon and then demonstrated again so he could get into the candy. Evan was not such a fan of this so we moved Kyle who managed to make off with a bag of M&M's.

Tractor Twins

Kyle was pouting that he didn't get to go on a tractor ride. That or scared that I let Evan push the stroller.

New Toys

I fell in love with this toy last year, but of course they were already sold out. This year I bought it as soon as they sent me the email saying it was available (how cool am I that I look forward to the Fisher-Price emails). It is the totally cute shepherd's and nativity set. I love it!

We also just bought a new camera, the Kodak Z812 IS. We are still learning what it can do and how to use it, but here are two fun pictures we took with it. So far, we love it too! We did learn how to take candle light pictures that turned out really well with our pumpkins (see pumpkin carving post).
Doesn't he look sweet and angelic. I thought I better take a picture so I could remember that the next time he was running around screaming for no apparent reason.

Pumpkin Carving

Becca's nervous pumpkin. In the photo we found that gave us this idea he was smoking, but we taught him a lesson on the Word of Wisdom and he quit cold turkey.
Evan's scary pumpkin. He picked out this design himself by saying he wanted all triangles. Triangle eyes, triangle nose, and triangle teeth. We may have found a favorite shape.
Kyle's sweet innocent pumpkin. He hasn't seen it yet since apparently pumpkin carving bored him to sleep, but I'm sure he'll love it.
