April .........

Easter, spent the day enjoying the sun..............who I welcomed back with open arms ( and no sun screen)
We scored at the trunk.....
got some hares......actually Rich picked these guys out.

There is some color in the garden, finally.

I am trying something new, I planed Clematis, hoping it will trail up the balcony posts...........we will see.

and I really scored this baby...........its a metal hanging basket with the most beautiful rust. I'm going to put some Susan's in it when it warms up. I cant get too close, if you look to the right, there is a bird living in my house who dive bombs me if I get too close!!!

Planted some sedum......

and some fun moss........and check out the rusty thingimabob.......I got it at the trunk too. Not sure what it is, so my philosophy is- if you don't know what it is- its a planter.

and certainly not least.........this cool rod iron guy...........I'm gonna trail some viney thing up him.

well that's my swag.............hope you enjoyed Easter as much as meeee!

.....and so on

Its been a little over a month since my girl has left me, and we have introduced a Penelope into our lives.
In so many ways she reminds me of my girl.

And what a strong willed girl she is.......

Penelope is the most independent Dog I have ever met.

So much so that I have purchased Cesar books...........
Wish us luck

my peanut head

You will always be the love of my life.
My heart has never, and will never again feel this much pain, it also has never ever known as much love.
You were more than my best friend, you were my soul mate. I will never forget you and I will never stop loving you as much as I do today.
I am so sorry, I hope you understand, I hope you aren't in any pain. I hope you forgive us.

Thank you.
For picking us.
For every day that you loved me.
For every moment that you wanted to be by my side.
For putting your head on me when we laid, for spooning with me when we slept.
For always being at my side.

I will always love you sasa girl. I hope that you will find me again someday, I hope that you will try. My life is better because of you.
There is a hole in my soul that will be empty until we meet again.

I miss you...........so much it hurts me to breath.
Please forgive me.

no more grass!

A patch of dirt.....

Some muscle....

And a new garden...

I think I am going to dig up all of my grass.........grass is over rated. think of all the gardening space one could have if they had no grass. Now Mulch...mulch I now believe is underrated. I love mulch! not only is it beneficial to your garden, but aesthetically pleasing and smells good. WOW right!
Okay maybe Ill keep some grass, but I really like adding all of these little tranquil spots. I replanted my peonies, they weren't doing well in the front, maybe too much shade? anyway, pray for them. Im hoping they bounce back.....PLEASE PEONIES!!!
I love my new garden, I have a speedwell, 2 bushes I forgot already, Susan's, Cone flowers, Iris, Bee Balm, and cat mint. I am planting the holly hocks and sage Sunday...then heading to the shade garden to plant my Fox gloves!! WEEEE.
I am pathetic, my life once exciting and dangerous, is now fulfilled by flowers and digging in dirt. And Rich is an even sadder story, all that energy spent on tattoo's to look tuff, and he is seen gardening ( he even wears pink gloves!)
who would have thought?

Digging in the dirt.......

Today was the first semi sunny day in New England in a week, so we spent it digging.
I have this area on the side of the house I'm going to make into a shade garden.
So far we have hostas and columbines.......

and those stone type things.......Im attempting to make the concrete potting bowls.....ha..lets see how they turn out, Im not holding my breath.
We also planted the peace pole, 4 sides that have the saying in Spanish, Norwegian, English, and animal foot prints.

and the final tada....my new space...just look at it in all its glory, enjoy the dirt now because soon it will be a garden that rivals the likes of Martha, just wait!

the Moosasa head. God I love her!

And of coarse we were visited by a few feathered friends that admired our work.
