Trip Home

In April we went to the Midwest to visit our parents. The kids had a blast! I blame the current state of my children's rotting teeth on the events that took place during this time period. There was an endless supply of twinkies, cookies, juice boxes, candy, gummys, ice cream, and anything you can imagine from none other than...Grandma's and Grandpa's Moran and Teed. (gasp!)

We visited the children's museum in Iowa City.
Mabel taking Faye down the slide.

Mabel dressed as Amelia Earhart giving us thumbs up. Little does she know...poor Amelia.

I was super impressed that Mabel climbed to the top of this mini climbing wall. I mean, hey, she's kinda wimpy. Way to go Mabel!

What kind of mother let's there child devour bolts that are on the floor? Hmmm...

A mother who likes to laugh!

Grandma assisting Mabel with the rocket launch.

Charlie and Daddy doing the rocket launch.

Okay, now switch days and places. We went to the John Deere Pavilion in Moline, Illinois with my parents.

The kids get to climb all over farm equipment and play. The daddy's also get to climb on the equipment and drool and dream.

Isn't this crazy big!

CRAZY BIG!!! That's the wheel people, the wheel!

Mommy, Mabel, and Faye.

This is the best picture of Faye we have ever taken. Eating taco pizza at Happy Joe's having a wonderful time! What a way to end the trip.

The kids made it through sugar detox when we got back. And we look forward to our next visit in August. Woohoo!

San Diego

So in April I had an AMAZING opportunity to go on a trip with Randy. Randy was sent to San Diego for his company and we conned Grandma and Grandpa Teed into watching the kids so I could go visit him for four of the most amazing days of my life! Who is that? Is that mom Katie? No no my friend, that was just me, Katie. I didn't have to yell, 'No! Stop that! Quit fighting! Be nice! Share! TIME OUT!' once. Well maybe I yelled, 'Stop that!' at Randy once, but otherwise I just got to be me and enjoy the peace and quiet of no children for a few days. Ahhhh, just thinking about it brings tears of joy to my eyes.

Ahhhhh, this was the end of the first day, watching the sunset on the beach. We actually ended up on a roller coaster while the sun set, so it was even more cool! One of Randy's co-workers flew his wife up for the weekend also, so we even got to hang out with another couple which made it even more fun. I'm pretty sure I wet my pants laughing as we walked along this beach with them! Thanks Doug and Noe! Good times.
We had to go do a session at the San Diego temple. Our hotel was about 15 minutes away, so we went a couple times to the temple grounds just to take pictures and enjoy how breathtakingly beautiful this temple is. It is HUGE. I got lost in it a couple of times!

I took this picture with my dinky camera. I mean, this temple is so beautiful, you don't have to be an amazing photographer.

I went to a museum with the other girl who came to visit. We had a great day wondering San Diego. The museum we visited had a display about games. If you know me, you know I LOVE games!

I love this quote.

This museum also had a random display of C3PO. Cool huh?! So I didn't document my trip with pictures very well, but it was amazing. I had the best Mexican food of my life, went to the beach, a comedy club, shopping, the gas lamp district, the temple, gardens, a museum. We crammed it all in. I have to say a special thanks to the Teeds! I so needed that. The moral of the story is, if you can get away from your kids, do. And when you go home they look way cuter!

Faye's Big #1

Faye's birthday was April 1st. We have a birthday tradition that when our kids turn 1, I make a teddy bear cake and they also get a snuggly teddy bear for a present. So here is Faye's cake.

Charlie saw me putting Faye's teddy bear into a gift bag and so he insisted on putting his teddy bear in a gift bag and wrapping it as well!
Mabel drew a picture of Rapunzel for Faye.

Randy and Faye enjoying playful birthday banter.

Mmmmmmmmmm...that's good mom!

There's that snuggly teddy bear just in time for bed!

Zoo Pass

Woo hoo!!! We are ready for the year. Come rain or come shine there is an inside wee zoo play area created just for the kids. Mabel was brave enough to pet the camels, which is saying something because she used to be afraid of ladybugs.

Mabel started laughing at Charlie for being scared of the lion statue. The IRONY, oh Mabel how soon you forget how scared you used to be. Tutt tutt. He didn't want to sit on it but I thought it was so funny that he was scared of it I couldn't resist!

On our way out of the zoo I was teasing Mabel about riding the camel because I thought she would be too scared. $5 later I regretted it! What a brave little girl though. I'm soooo proud!

Not that interesting

Mabel requested a kitty nightgown several months ago, because she had one when she was smaller that she grew out of. I thought, yeah right kid like we'll find another one. But I just happened to look at the same store we got the previous one, and there was a two pack of kitty nightgowns! Charlie did not want to miss out on the action, so he demanded to wear one too.

Oh brother, she started posing.

This guy can pull of anything, even a fancy kitty nightgown. Stud alert!

We do fun things...sometimes

This is our FREE trip to the children's museum. It was maybe a month ago but I just haven't posted it yet. Fun stuff. Thus my title we do do fun things. It was free day so we took advantage, as did around 5,000 other people. But we went darn it and had fun!
